What can I say, I am HARDCORE :money:counting my dd's as spend days, but then again I set them all up to go out on the same day, and it focusses my mind on when to spend.

Animal Aid dd went out yesterday - charity
As it was a spend day I did the food shopping and bought car insurances. Bleurgh!

    Today I am grateful:
    1) DH is going back to work, as I get bugg3r all done when he is about, and I need to get on with stuff.
    2) I still have a half tank of petrol from filling up 4 weeks ago. No school run! :p
    3) My kids are at home today, even if they are horrifically loud and bicker constantly:mad:, as I will miss them like crazy tomorrow when school goes back and the house is silent apart from the pitter patter of tiny hamster feet and LBC to keep me sane (ish). I should remember that more often.

Not a NSD as I had to pay for music lessons for DS2 as they want a FULL term's notice of intention to quit.:( so that's paid until Easter.

  • Afternoon all,

I havent managed a nsd yet, but im hoping today will be one. I'm back in work today after a lovely xmas and new year with the family.

Dd's have gone out today so i need to check all is ok there (and that we have enough to last the rest of the month...)

Ive been on my bike and run in the past two days. I wont fit in any exercise today, but i am having a steps competition on my f1tbit app with friends!

Just eaten my lunch in work, made myself beans on toast, and had a yoghurt. It was yummy too.
I'' not sure what we'll eat tonight because i forgot to pull meat out of the freezer before work. It'll probably be something like frozen battered fish. I wont be buying anything!

Today i am grateful for -
    1. A lovely sunny day
    2. My job
    3. My scales working properly again so i can shift the lbs!
Still here..... but working on that!

Abundant I could have met my one true love if they hadn't got rid of the water cooler or have I watched too much Disney?

Went to work today seeing as both my bosses weren't there was lovely, they aren't back till later this week. So much more productive without interruptions.:j

Bob this flu has definitely affected my brain. I started with it on NYE, lad who I was out walking with told me there is fireworks at the castle tonight. I asked oh what time ? He is still laughing at me!:o

Today finally sorted out my sky account. Happy dance, being extra chatty and full of cold worked. I am now on basic package cancelled family pack and got 75% discount. He was only giving me 30% discount. My new payment is £5 a month for 10 months and full price last 2 months. So much better than £38 paying now. (Only paid that amt last 2 months):j

Paid £165 off my debts today:j

Spent can't face food I have in so bought a nice smoothie and some steak pies. £4 in total. Excited about tea now.:)

Back to coughing my head off and watching Xmas movies :D

    Grateful for
    Nice Sky man
    Cozy home
Feeling on top of debt situation

    Hi All

This morning we went out shopping and to the park, but it is so bitterly cold we have since retreated to the lounge. Wins for the day so far.

    * 3p roadkill
    * 4 of the kids favourite smoothies for half price (Womble £3)
    * Posted three birthday cards all on 2nd class stamps because we had enough time. Already had cards and stamps in.
    * A nice fresh enquiry in my business inbox for March, just replied to that
    * Did a bit of cleaning this morning
    * Checked banking and moved CB into the joint account
    * Checked kids savings subs had moved across automatically today
    * Planned baking for later - plums to use up so will make a plum sponge cake, and will do cheese scones at the same time.
    * Made a decision as a family, that we won't be renewing our sons dance class subscription this term. We all feel a bit sad as he is very lucky to have a place at one of the top dance colleges in London, which he has had since age 4. But, a) he was split up from his friend last term, through the fact they operate three classes in that age group, and he has enjoyed it less because of that b) we don't have a car and have been spending our whole Saturday morning getting him there and back again which is very prohibitive for us c) We all feel he would be better off doing something local to our house like cubs so he could meet a few more local friends. So it's the end of an era but I think we've really tried and it's time to say goodbye.
    * Tonight's dinner is going to be YS pork mince burgers which will cost around 25p per portion
    * Used my fine drawing pen that I found yesterday to write the birthday cards.
    * OH just put out the christmas tree. It's growing in a pot and has a few brown leaves so hopefully will perk up a bit.
    * An anti Womble but we realised DD had stolen a malteaser bunny bar at the tills so we had to go back into the shop to return it.

I complained to Morrison's about a pair of baby tights that were ripped when we recieved them as a christmas present. They said they would send us a coupon for the cost. However having just opened the letter they actually sent a £5 coupon! Which is probably 4 times the value.

    3 gratitude's

    1. A nice walk through the park with all the family. Even if it was freezing.
    2. A peaceful day. Uneventful is good.
    3. Getting the christmas declutter done.

Had to buy light bulbs today as (having taken down the Christmas tree) we would have been sitting in semi darkness as the lamp had blown (again). Fixed the lamp. Since I had to spend some money grabbed a few YS bargains in Iceland,

Been spending the day catching up on household chores. So it's been quite productive.

Hope everyone who has this dreadful cold gets better soon.

    Today I'm grateful for:
Being able to see the computer keyboard properly again
Walking a bit further than the last few days without getting out of breath
Homemade soup when I came in from the cold
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Bob - you have had a productive day.

calling - well done on your Sky saving.

I called into Tesco this afternoon with DS to spend 70p in very battered roadkill coins, the self service till took them without a problem. Also changed £2 in coppers at the bank and put the £2 coin in my sealed tin. Sold an item on ebay and posted it out, made £4.33 after fees which has been transferred to savings. Also have bids on two other things one of which is a lovely bike that a neighbour left out for scrap, I asked if I could have it, cleaned it up and will see what we get for it.

Collected DD from school and she is in a foul mood, told her she will get the bus if she doesn't snap out of it - teenagers :(.

Finally getting round to posting my targets for the month :)

    Usual rules:
The challenge runs from January 1st to January 31st.

Set a NSD target, aim for at least 15 - going for 15 as I am doing slimming world and trying new recipes and buying lots more fresh food so need a few extra this month.

Donate to a charity - I have several dds set up already and my sister and I have jointly decided to sponsor a girl to keep her in education (sure you've all seen the advert that is constantly on TV at the moment).

Pay to your debt or savings first - I did this on payday (way back on 25th December) and have now got rid of all my 'bad' debt from silly spending and the ex.

Post as often as you can - will do :)

    January's rules:
Look at your usual food budget and aim to spend 10% less - as above, I have started slimming world and this combined with hosting a Christmas event means that my food budget has been extended by 50% and not reduced, however I have had a reduced food budget for the last 3 and a half years so I won't be too hard on myself.

Post 3 things that you are grateful for each time you post - will do

Post something that you would like to have achieved by the end of 2017 - I will be down to a maximum of 9st 7lbs (I am only 5ft tall) and I will have a new bathroom, that is upstairs and has a bath :j

Organise some cheap (free if possible) things to do with family or friends - will do
    LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)
New roof and car £8557/£19003 New kitchen £396/£5039 Credit card Paid Student loan Paid
  • Hi everyone :hello:
Quite a quick check in from me - I've survived the first day back at school, without too much trouble. The only downer was having to come straight home at the end of the day so I literally only did the teaching today - no planning, copying, marking etc. But family first, and the kids were home on their own for a couple of hours.
I have had a spend day today - ordered my sister's birthday present for next week, and also had an online delivery from Mr T - £70.90 which is the big monthly shop with all of the stuff like cleaning, binbags etc. included.
Other than that it's been uneventful - all work and then home to do my daily jobs before sitting down here and relaxing for the evening.
    Things I am grateful today:
    1. The kids being brilliant with each other when left on their own together for a couple of hours.
    2. Coming home from work and getting straight into my PJ's
    3. The company of my cats - one of which is sitting snuggled next to me right now.
