Happy New Year Everybody, sorry a bit late.
Aiming for 20 NSD. Had 1 yesterday and 1 today.
Paid into savings.
Work 3 shifts a week in a charity shop and donate to animal charity.
Have put £120 in the grocery budget pot. Never really worked within a budget before, but not really extravagant as don't have expensive tastes (I think), just eat too much junk.
This year I want to de-clutter big time.Lots of stuff about that I don't need.Hoping to sell on e-b*y.
Do as many surveys as possible.
Hope to raise £2,000 this year by doing these things.
And the big one...... Loose 50lbs.
Been on the scales this morning and the result is very depressing
On that cheerful note I'll go and do some browsing on the Slimming World thread.

You are all so upbeat, I need to get better, flu taken over my body, so far today managed a hot steamy bath, covered in Vic put make up on and still sat on my bed. I will get out of a walk at the very least even it's just around the block. Had to laugh yesterday had 2 different friends call around to walk me. I don't have a tail or bark. It's nice otherwise I spend too much time alone.
Well done on the gym Abundant I just get bored to tears. Since the water cooler went years ago it's no fun no interaction with people( fit men).
Arranged with friend to meet up and do a coastal path this year- only another 117 miles to go. I need new boots but can't face shops and people today.
SFD 2/15 so far so good.
Arranged to get haircut Thursday I will try not to spend till then. Hair needs it last one beginning October so bushy I look like the lad off Diversity eek!
Bob putting me to shame, planning extra payments from Council tax I usually just fritter that away this time extra payments to the debt monster.
Looks lovely outside so going to stick woolly hat on and see how far my legs will travel.
I need to cancel Sky might leave couple of days as I can't be bothered to argue today. Even if I just go down to basic pack would help - out of contract now.
Weight 12st 9lb static haven't put any weight on over Xmas but too heavy for my 5ft 5in - just snacking on biscuits with this cold. Next week try healthy eatingLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Spend day today but groceries only so that's allowed in my budget (my NSD's are 'unnecessary/indulgence' as long as I'm within my monthly budget on everything else. A very disappointing YS trawl again. But a side of salmon to divide up for the freezer and some other fish which I needed.
Otherwise the freezer is full, and there is very little left to use up in the fridge. So other than good YS bargains (a whole Chicken if I can find one), I shouldn't need any groceries until Thursday.
It's ffffreeeezing here. I ought to go for a run but I'm still full of sore throat and lurgy so I don't think I will. DH off to watch new Star Wars film tonight. I'm staying home. Bah humbug. My purse is staying shut! I'm going to finally have some holiday me time and indulge in a long hot bubble bath.
Today I'm grateful for
1) YNAB- budgeting done for the next month/Year as appropriate, and I have squirrelled away £1000 since I started using it in September. This means that I am managing to save a significant portion of my salary each month rather than frittering it away by not thinking about or keeping track of spends.
2) This, and the GC thread. Today about 1/2 of what was in my trolley went back because I asked myself would I have bought it at full price? Everything that was not a 'yes' or a 'yes but too much for the budget at full price' went back:D
3) Another glorious sunny day:TGoals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
I am going to aim for 15 NSDs so 1 down 14 to go. Today will not be a NSD as I have to do a bread and milk raid at closing time (no YS left unturned) and with it being a Bank Holiday, none of the Bills have gone out on dd so they will disappear tomorrow so that will not be a NSD either.
Today I am grateful for two little hamsters who had me in fits of giggles while they tried to take their tissue bedding from ground floor up to second floor of their cages via plastic tunnels. So busy and they look so serious doing it. Like me and the duvet covers!
Having got firmly hold of my temper 30 years ago and not having lost it since. DS2 is being a total pain in the bum.
That the bins go out tonight and I will have less clutter (recycling et al) and more space in which to think - I find I get less done in a cluttered room, like it drains my motivation - sadly I always have one room filled with clutter to keep the other rooms clutter free, and the boys could clutter for England.
Have a great Bank Holiday4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Just home from holiday to a cold house. Got the fire going and getting set for an afternoon sorting my saving/frugal living goals for this year. Today will be freezer/fridge/cupboard inventory and will head to shops tonight to see if I can get any YS items.
Happy new year everyone. I hope it is a successful one for us all!0 -

Hi all.
Lovely weather here today although cold. Me and DH have walked the dog and we will run later (DD is planning to come with us as she wants to get fit). Have been to Tesco and spent money, it is DS's birthday on Friday and he is having friends for a sleepover so I have been to get the food for that and also birthday cake bits, all within the budget I had set for that though.
I have made a chilli for tea which I will serve with rice and tortilla chips, I had to make a separate pan for DD as she has decided to go veggie - great when you just say it and don't have to actually do anything else. I would be happy for us all to be veggie but DH and DS are fighting it but they will be getting a lot more veggie meals.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi All
A quick check in here. Got up and OH made us all pancakes. Using up milk that is slightly on the cusp. Very nice.
Packed a flask of coffee, ham sandwiches and some biscuits and went to the local park which was very cold but warm in the sunshine. Lots of people out too so a nice atmosphere. In the afternoon OH and DS carried on to the swimming pool, DS gets a discount with his library card. Whilst they did that I took DD and put up some more flyers, and walked to Mr S for milk and cream crackers which came to 80p.
DS gave £1 of his own money to a homeless lady we often see. It's never an easy conversation to get into, why is that lady there? What do you say? She shouldn't be there no but the system has let her down? Ah....
Dinner tonight is the other half of the mince from yesterday, padded out with lots of veg, to do a Shepard's Pie.
Calling I really sympathise with the flu situation. I came down with it the day after boxing day and had a couple of days where I couldn't do anything. High fever, the shivers etc. At the moment I still don't feel right, need to blow my nose every ten minutes and just feel exhausted. The double kicker is both kids keep getting coughs and sneezes too, so the whole germ factory just passes between us again and again. It will be summer in no time *manic laughing*" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Went for another walk in the park today. It was lovely if very cold.
Still resisting the banned food and drink items. Had a delicious chicken sandwich for lunch using yesterday's leftovers and made chicken broth with the rest. There's enough for lunch for the rest of the week. I'll freeze it in portions when it cools down. Having sausage casserole tonight. Not the healthiest meal but there are lots in the freezer which have to be used.
Spent some money today on things for forthcoming holidays and bits and pieces which are needed for house and son's packed lunches for this week and next.
Forgot to say in previous posts that I have a DD for Barnardos every month and buy a magazine from Salvation Army lady every week. Will continue to do this and contribute to food bank through friend's church.
Today I'm grateful for:
Good neighbours (one gave me a Yankee Candle as a New Year present today for helping her throughout last year)
A warm house when other people are struggling with the cold.
More than enough to eat when others are having to resort to food banks.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
