Evening all x Happy New year.

After the first lay in in months I've kept busy continuing to declutter working my way through all drawers and cupboards down stairs today got to quickly whizz over the kitchen floor and im ticking off Jan 1st as a sucess 4 hours overtime squeezed in whilst everyone slept, home before they all woke up. Back to normal shift pattern tomorrow and DS back to school Wednesday..Xmas is officially over.
Grateful today for a lovely lay in,
A productive jama day at home and finding my cafetierre at the back of the cupboard so gorgeous strong coffee in the morning..Aiming to spend less, want less and need less.0 -
Evening Turtles :hello:
And Happy New Year all of you
I'm home from visiting my friend, feeling very tired but it's been brilliant.
I've bagged my first nsd of the month by being at my friend's house all day and not needing or wanting to buy anything, so I'm off the mark there.
Today I am grateful for:
Being able to spend time with family and good friends
Paracetamol - not for a hangover but for a tiredness headache
Still having 1 more day off work.
Let's do this!Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Happy New Year all!
First spends of the year today - fancied cauli cheese with dinner so sent OH to shops - he also came back with loads of YS bakery items!
Last night for DD here before she heads back to uni tomorrow. Her fave meal is roast so we had a big YS chicken tonight. Peeled and roasted 3kg of potatoes (Ald1 19p specials) - the top 2 things she misses are my roast potatoes and my HM bread - the excess are chilling in the fridge for her to freeze and use back at uni. Also tubbed up the lo breast meat in gravy for her to take back (2 large portions) and will quickly make a loaf in the morning
Will finish tidying and inventorying freezer after DD has gone back to uni as quite a bit will be leaving with her and then I'll know exactly where I am
Things I am grateful for today: DS3 not waking until 8.15, having a well stocked freezer, not having to go out in the wet weather

My first NSD. Probably helped that all the shops were closed.
No sweet things, snacks or alcohol. Had healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner. All from freezer or store cupboard and went for a walk in the park. Weighed myself this morning so know what I am aiming for next week.
Had a productive day. Made lists of all the things I need or want to do. Did the washing and made tomorrow's dinner.
Today I'm grateful for the true friends who helped and supported us through the dreadful year that was 2016. My kind and generous partner and wonderful albeit very disorganised son and a walk in the park on this beautiful crisp winter's day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Happy new year everyone! I've numbered all turtles up to here
Right suppose I better post my own goals
Going to aim for 18 NSDs, 1st one today
Will donate items to the food bank
Food budget for the month is £135, stock take is done as well as a rough meal plan
Goals for 2017
To become debt free - I currently owe £2176.75 (all on 0% interest) so will need to pay £181.50 per month to become debt free by the end of the year. Obviously I would like to bring that forward a bit so my goal is to try and pay at least £250 a month to the debt.
To do a 10k - I've recently got back into running again and can manage a 5k fairly comfortably so would like to aim for a 10k. At some point during the year, there is one that I can do through work (so free entry) and could fundraise at the same time for work so need to find out exactly when this is. My plan is to slowly increase my distances each time I run.
Today I'm grateful for
- a lovely warm home
- a good shift at work
- double timeMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
Mortgage overpayment savings - £1.01/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £675.980 -
January's rules:
Look at your usual food budget and aim to spend 10% less. Do a stock take of everything in your freezer/fridge/cupboards. aiming to spend only on fruit and veg, milk and essentials and use store cupboard up
Post 3 things that you are grateful for each time you post
my children
My husband
My family
Post something that you would like to have achieved by the end of 2017 -be fitter, lose 7 lbs, be healthy, be happier
Organise some cheap (free if possible) things to do with family or friends. January is a long and usually boring month, it's nice to have things to look forward to. Use National Trust/English Heritage membership and walk around local area more.
aiming for 15 NSDs
today was NSD 1/15 :jNSDs January 14
Overpaid mortgage January £521
£2 club £26 for holidays:A0 -
Set a NSD target, aim for at least 15. I'm going to aim for a tough 25. Day one has not been successful as BF claimed an xmas voucher for a takeaway
Donate to a charity. Local cats & dogs home are needing blankets & quilts. We never use the winter quilt (summer quilt has been on all winter and we have still been too warm). This year I want to make a load of blankets for next xmas donations too.
Pay to your debt or savings first. I have £100 left to pay on my credit card, then need to start stuffing the savings pot. We want to start looking for a house this year.
January's rules:
Food budget. Aiming for £120
Things I am grateful for today:
1) Me and BF sat down to watch a film together. For the first time in what seems like forever, we just haven't had the time lately.
2) Cosy snuggs with the puppy.
3) Visiting mum 'in-law' for a new years chat & cup of tea.
2017 aims:
1) This year I have to lose weight. I used to be 17 stone, got down to 11 1/2, now I'm 15 stone again and terrified of becoming the fat slob I used to be. I have 58 lbs to lose, this is slightly over 1 lb a week, so I am determined.
I have the annual family get-to-gether in June, so want to have dropped around 20lbs by then.
2) By the end of the year I wish to at least put an offer on a house. We are aiming to take mortgage advice around March time, and start looking around June/July. I need a decent deposit by then.
Cheap/free family & friends events.
I bought a Game of Thrones card game last year, it's quite complicated. Me and my bestie are going to try and work it out and play a game on Wednesday for my birthday.
I need to have my granma round for tea at some point (mainly to meet the new puppy) and I have a couple of friends birthdays coming up, so will need to pop round for a catch up.
Other plans to come!

First NSD of the month! I've had a pretty relaxed day - it's been nice. I've not reached 10,000 steps today as a consequence of my lazy day but tomorrow I plan on taking down Christmas decorations and having a good tidy.
3 things I'm grateful for
1) Clean bedsheets
2) Full belly
3) The fact that I don't have to go to work tomorrow!February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
NST no. NSD 4/150 -
Today I am grateful for my tumble dryer. Three lots of bedding washed and dried and back on the beds. The other two to be done tomorrow. I try and do all bedding on 1st and 2nd of the month to keep me on track. It takes me two days comfortably, one day is always a manic panic at bedtime to get the last one done. Pillowcases get done in between if they look grubby, pyjamas once a week.
I am grateful our roof does not yet leak, and that we are warm and safe.
I had my first NSD today. It has been chucking it down here and I did not have to go out because I still had food in the house and nobody complained (much) about what I made for them to eat.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
