    Afternoon everyone,

PEPPAPIG oh your poor mum, I hope she gets better soon and gets home from hospital. Glad that she already seems a lot better in herself. Haha that's funny about Sons of Anarchy I love it!!

VULPIX oh no what are DS plans now? You can always upcycle and sell on as you are so clever with furniture. Glad you know how to put pics on now look forward to seeing some. I don't think you would be expected to go to the funeral, when my BILs parents died I did send flowers but no one expected me to attend the funeral

KERRI I love the scented pencil case and pencils what a cute gift

Gawd Peppa,I am so sorry I didn't read when i posted this morning.I do hope your Mum is on the mend. It is a shock to realise they are not invincible.I was extremely upset when my Mum was ill earlier this year. My SIL Mum passed a couple of days ago after loudly telling evryone for the last 10 years she was on her last legs! Is that a funeral that I need to go to? I only met her a couple of times.

Kerri you have great ideas for gifts.I most certainly will be looking at the Pickerings website.I am having a rest.I have finished the bathroom and touched up the stairs yet again with gloss paint.Need to clear up now. Then on to DD2's room.

Oh my, sorry Pepper - I had a total 'all about me' moment posting earlier and forgot to send my best wishes. I know exactly what you mean about parents getting older - my mum has been unwell on and off most of this year, nothing 'serious' but has brought it home that she's not still the mum I grew up with - even though I still see her like that.

I must admit I am a little in love with Smiggle (though its expensive full price)- it reminds me of going into WH Smith as a kid to get new school stuff. I got DN a jewellery box for her b'day in the xmas sale - tacky, glittery noisy thing with disco lights when you open it...she loves it :rotfl: I could hear the kids in there today 'but mum it's great it does XYZ' followed by mum saying 'yes, I'm still not buying it' :D

I too hope your mum is on the mend Peppa.

Vulpix, I think this has to be a personal choice. My BIL's mum passed recently, and I did attend the funeral. I went out of respect for my BIL rather than because of his mum, whom I didn't know that well despite my BIL being my BIL for over 25 years now. Other than my sister obviously, none of my other siblings attended because they could not get time off of work.

Thanks folks,I think I will go to the funeral if I can.My Mum became quite good friends with her over the past 25 years.I will offer to take Mum.

This boy will be the death of me! At the moment he plans to live here for a while whilst she is at uni. But that could all change in a heart beat.

Today craft coven meets at mine then we are all going out for lunch to a garden centre, maybe they will have nice bits for Christmas presents.

Oh saw Christmas cards on sale last week,in the Mind shop.

Peppa hope your mum is ok and on the mend soon

freespirit free kettle even better. I'll give the hot chocs a try then do you have any recommendations?

vulpix sorry to hear about your sil mum. With extended family I think its personal choice about attending sounds like your mum would probably like to go though.

Kerri -with the scented stationary I would put it in one of those zip lock type bags as that should help keep the smell

Well taz finally lost a tooth both the bottom 2 actually :D Silly tooth fairy left the money but forgot to take the teeth  that took some explaining

    Afternoon everyone,

MANDCO I have just had a look on whittards and I'm sure my favourite was Tiramisu but they don't do that ??? I'm sure I'm not making that up, I am going to order Salted Caramel and maybe orange and mint for this Christmas I think. Some of them have 20% off at the moment

VULPIX hope you had a lovely lunch out at the garden centre

My daughters have Smiggle scented pencils and phone case, both still smell a year down the line. So I'm sure they will be fine, but I agree to pop them in a bag to make them smell nice and strong when she opens it.

Someone mentioned going to WH Smith for back to school stuff, that's exactly what I did today. It was more for the eldest as she starts high school after the summer, so her current pencil case etc was too babyish. So I was fleeced for a fancy rose gold one, plus all sorts of expensive rubbers and fancy sharpeners! Usually I'm prett frugal with these things. But I don't really buy them anything other than birthdays and xmas. All 3 were excited to get a wee treat, so I indulged them. I did pick up some teeny watermelon rubbers in a tube for me. Just because they were 4 for 3 and mega cute. I Love stationary and a big kid at heart.

We also ŵent to pick up her blazer. She tried it on with her new tie and looks so grown up :-( she is taller than me, and her skirt was very short lol.

Tesco has Disney dvd's at a good price, most about £7. Including Moana, inside out, Brave. The new Beauty and the Beast is just £10. I'm going back tomorrow without the kids to pick a couple up for christmas.
I did get my youngest (DD5) a Beauty and the beast busy book for Christmas. I couldn't resist the little chip mug! They were down to £6 each or 2 for £9. So I got a cars one for my nephews Christmas too.

Nic2075 that was me about WHSmith, glad the tradition still lives on :D

Pencil case and pencils are now in a nice zip lock bag in a draw so hopefully will be fine come Xmas, did wonder if they added those to the sale to keep stock moving and stop stuff losing its scent in store...that's prob me being cynical, I'm sure the planners aren't that organised :rotfl:

Hope all Xmas planning going well folks, less than 5mths to go now :D my little bags have been despatched on the slow boat from china so hopefully will be here...errr.....before Xmas :rotfl:
