Just about to take a look at that The Works Summer sale to see if there's anything I like there too! I've always bought notebooks from there for presents. They're great prices and quality in there.

For Christmas I've bought an address book, notebook and a notepad with clipboard for my mum and I've bought another notebook for my boyfriend's mum too. Really pleased with them! I also got his mum a set of 3 mini notebooks to pop in her handbag etc, but I got them from TKMaxx - really pleased with the presents I've found in there too lately!

Christmas buying is going so well at the moment. I also picked up a Winter Wonderland candle set from Clintons for my boyfriend's older brother and girlfriend for just £3 down from £10. For the little ones I know I've already bought their presents and made the decision to wrap them! One of them was actually born on Christmas Day so I've bought her a little soft toy whale from the sale in M&S for her birthday and the Peppa Pig books I bought the other week from poundland will be for her Christmas present. For the little boy I have added to his sticker sheet and dinosaur book with some freebie sweets from my o2 app and a mini paw patrol puzzle game I got free from work! I was lucky enough to also win a lovely scarf in a competition the other day, so that will be going to my mum. I love a free present!

I might start planning the rest of the present ideas this evening. I hope you all have a lovely weekend! :)

I am absolutely freezing this afternoon I have a throw wrapped round me :o

PEPPAPIG ooh that sounds great everything seems to be moving along now, having your own craft room will be fab, btw I love the name Jackson :D

MANDCO I didn't know new argos book was out today might take a look as my kettle blew up this morning and boiling water in a saucepan always tastes funny to me

  • Busy day😉 made 2 more cakes, fed the ones I made yesterday, have started packing so I know where I am with things, thank goodness I have a 64 kg allowance :D did the ironing, have made dinner, sorted out lunch for tomorrow,, recycling, shopping. Think I deserve a shower now:D

Wear my iPod while doing things at home, on shuffle, so hearing Mr Buble wish me a happy Christmas was really nice, especially as I was lining a cake tin at the time:j

Am looking at gifts which need to be wrapped, think they can wait!

Hope you all had good weekend

Peppa- you will be able to prep all your Christmas goodies from your new kitchen, hope you are planning where the fairy lights will be plugged in??!!!

Mandco- I had completely forgotten that the new argos book was out so thanks for the reminder. Poor Taz with his teeth x

Free- the duvet cover will match your glittery stag- your room will look 'swit swoo' at Christmas!

Kerri- those bags are lovely. Alli express has soooo many goodies I daren't go on there very often!

Vulpix- have you found any tutorials about how to transfer images onto candles? If not then look on Debbie Moore's website as she has a really down to earth way of explaining things- that's where I got the idea from initially. The trick I have found is not to hold the heat too close to the candle, it takes a little longer but is worth it for the finish you get.

Alja- you are really getting ahead with your present stash! (its a great feeling isn't it?!)

GTQ- Gulp- 64KG? How do you manage to get to and from the airport with that much weight??! Did you come over all warm and christmassy when Mr Buble wished you happy Christmas?

I have been busy sorting out (chucking stuff!) from DHs wardrobe whilst he is away so its a charity shop run for me this morning. DD and I are off to afternoon tea at a new Laura Ashley Tea Room later which I am really looking forward to. She has treated me as a way of saying thank you for her birthday party and presents -Im quite touched by that.

Hope everyone is OK, weather is miserable, but hey- its the summer lol!
    lovin' this site!

OOO Laura Ashley tea room, that sounds loverllee.

I have had 2 visitors already this morning,I love living in a village.

My eldest DD coming soon, evil cackle,I will get her to paint the bathroom ceiling.

Youngest DD is getting the train soon to go and stay with her Mums sister for a few days.

Great to hear everyones plans for Christmas are taking shape.

I have finished the stool,it looks nice.Do you want pics? I have loads i promised and IT support is on the way! I did manage to cripple a beswick lamb ornament that I had when I was a bridesmaid when I was 4.The old staples were so difficult to get out of the stool, the pliers flew out of my hand and hit the poor lamb adding to all his other breaks!

I would much rather paint furniture though than rooms.

Murie,I have written Debbie Moore down,I will deffo give the candles a go.

Also with the boxes,I have an idea.Just practise on a cereal box or something.they really are very easy.

    Vx

Murie thanks he actually has 3 wobbly ones now its been weeks but they just don't seem to want to come out totally hopefully it won't be much longer
Laura Ashley teaa room sounds lovely what a thoughtful gesture from dd

GTQ how on earth do you manage 64kg? that is a lot of luggage

Freespirt Oh no a kettle is essential I'd be lost without one boiled water from a pan does in an emergency but always tastes funny

Had dgd to stay since sat she's 1 soon  you forget just how much work they are at that age she's cruising too so into everything. Poor chewie has been star considering the abuse she's given him.
A few places have small xmas sections on line disneystore tesco argos have recently added things
ordered a pack of 48 tree decs for £1.48 from argos for the boys tree
The weather has been lousy here but its a good excuse to dig out the fleeces and snuggle up with some hot chocolate which got me thinking about my xmas hot chocolate station - had anyone tried the flavoured hot chocalates from wittards? I had the salted caramel one last yr which wasn't bad but a little disappointing. They do lots of other flavours I quite fancy the black forest one but they start at £6.50 a tub its a lot of money to waste if they aren't that nice. Or any other recommendations for flavoured ones?
missy is awake again so better shoot

Def need pics please VULPIX. I live in a village and I've had one visitor this morning - but only because I'd sold something on the local FB page lol. I think I'll put my lack of popularity down to it being a big village rather than nodody liking me :rotfl:

MURIE have a fab afternoon tea, I'm not jealous of course :D That's a good point, I'd forgotten about plugging the lights in, I'll make sure I've got a few options when the electrician comes on Saturday. So dismal this morning I've got the fairy lights on in the front room.

FREE when DD first said they'd chosen Jackson I wasn't overkeen, I kept thinking of the old Johnny Cash song but I got to like it and now I love it. They tend to shorten it to Jax though and I'm def not so keen on that.

Raining again today so garden work may be limited but we're off to buy the last of the stones shortly then it'll be a case of dodging the rain to get them put down. Going to visit the local garden centre too, they've got a sale on so may find something for pressies and also they might have a couple of boxes as I gave some bits to post out.

ETA: Ooh MANDCO you're right, this weather calls for hot chocolate and I've got a voucher for two for one on hot drinks at the garden centre we're going to, yay!
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

    !

I had a lovely warm & fuzzy feeling from Mr B! Airport is actually fine, use the trollies from & to the car at either end. Don't worry, I don't carry 64kg, but it is nice having the bit of security that I have that allowance. As I am flying business (sounds so facetious :o), I don't have to queue to check in luggage as I don't need to check in online, so it is pretty simple.

    Afternoon all

Just a quick stop in - what on earth is going on with this weather? I nearly put the heating on today it's that gloomy

Murie the afternoon tea sounds lovely, how nice of DD to treat you too and show her appreciation.

vulpix of course we want pictures - need you ask lol!

I checked those little bags on Ali again today and they'd gone down in price so I ordered 5 for £6.20 - I decided by the time I'd bought the card for the boxes, and the ribbon to tie them, plus a stamper and got stroppy when I was trying to make them that all in all, it was worth my sanity if nothing else to order the bags and hopefully recipients will make future use out of those too. I just hope they are nice when I receive them.

I put a couple of xmas decs in the loft today that I'd bought back from my mums a few weeks ago - things I remember being up when I was little, going to try and feed them into my xmas decorations this year (though might leave some of the very 80's decorations out :rotfl:)

Out of 18 on my xmas list there's only about 3/4 I either haven't bought for or don't know what i'm getting :A

Kerri, some of my 70's and 80's tree decs are my absolute favoutite. Everyone reminds me of a different christmas and a different feeling for each one. Same with all my decs. Not one matches. The kids ( 3 of them) have all chosen a new tree dec each for the last few years. Plus the hand made ones, all get chucked on. My sister once commented me tree was so tacky and looked like santa threw up on it, but she loves it.
I look at pictures and other peoples lovely colour coordinated ones and I love them and think I should do mine like that too. But I'd miss my mis matched memory tree. :-)

Murie- I hope you enjoyed your Afternon tea, I'd love to see what kind of treats were available.

Vulpix- def want to see pictures.

Today has been gorgeous day here. 26 degrees. Which is welcome after a rubbish wet weekend. I think tomorrow is nice and then it turns rainy again. Oh to be able to plan a BBQ lol.
