nic2075 we bought a twig type tree last year and I really like the fact I don't need to decorate it but might put a few baubles on it this year (I've already pre-ordered my gin baubles so they might go on). I'm keeping the 80's decs that I love / remember, however there are also some like a plastic santa and snowman that make me wonder how on earth I didn't end up with nightmares :rotfl: I remember them being put up fondly - but they are deff a lot prettier in my memories so that's where they will stay.

Hi everyone. By this time of year my thoughts usually turn to Christmas and I normally either start lurking on this forum thread or I join.

Unfortunately I can't be as prepared this year. We moved into a much smaller house last year which means that space is very limited and I won't be able to stock up on things until much closer to Christmas as the space we have just wouldn't be liveable.

It's a shame but hopefully I can vicariously experience the Christmas planning through you lot and share in the excitement :)

My only current plan is that I'm going to be buying an Angela Harding none chocolate advent calendar this year and I'm considering changing the Christmas Tree. I love my current one but realistically it's far too big. Think I need a Christmas tree alternative.

Afternoon everyone, have been watching Christmas in July on QVC all day, they have had some lovely things this year I am quite impressed, I haven't bought anything though ;) just waiting for the Alison Cork show at 6pm, MURIE you have got me into her products they are just so lovely to look at :D Has anyone else bought anything or watched today? I have blown my diet big time this afternoon too :( the first time since I started I think it was a combination of headache tiredness and being hungry I just flipped but what has really peed me off is we have leftovers from dinner last night that I forgot about and would have filled me up nicely grrrr!

MURIE how was your afternoon tea it looked lovely on IG? Your DD is a lovely girl to her mum :D

VULPIX do we want pics????? You know we all love seeing our pics my lovely :rotfl:

MANDCO I was lucky I didn't have to go out and buy a new kettle DS remembered his one from Uni was in the garage so I cleaned it up and descaled it and it is perfect and matches the toaster I nicked off him too when that blew up haha. I have the flavoured hot chocolates from Whittard at Christmas time as they have so many lovely flavours I haven't been disappointed yet

PEPPAPIG ah see that is what I would do shorten it to Jax, its from Sons of Anarchy when I used to watch it he was the main character. I hope you enjoyed your hot chocolates at the GC

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY ooh I would love to fly business, its on my bucket list

KERRI at least if you really aren't happy with the bags its early enough to sort something else out, that is the beauty of being organised

NIC I had a Christmas decoration from my childhood I loved it was pink and didn't match anything but I always put it up then one year my exH threw it out without telling me, I was gutted

Ha ha FREE, yes I think DD and DSIL are Sons of Anarchy fans and that's why they like it. He's such a gorgeous little boy I don't really mind what he's called :D

Unfortunately I haven't seen much of QVC today and every time I have managed to catch a few minutes it's been the blooming TSV biscuits!

Didn't do the hot choc or garden yesterday as my mum had a bad fall as a result of confusion/disorientation because of a bad chest infection and we spent yesterday in A&E. She was admitted and has been diagnosed with pneumonia so will be there for a few days. Today has been spent clearing up her flat where she fell and visiting her in hospital. Thank goodness she's back to her normal self mentally but she's got a lovely black eye and her breathing is still bad. It's only when something like this happens that it really comes home to you how old your parents really are. :(
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

WHAT! gin baubles are a thing? My kinda baubles.

Glad to hear you can have a decent cuppa Free.Pan water makes a strange hot drink, but just about OK in an emergency.

I am up to my eyeballs in decorating. If I got my finger out I could finish the bathroom today.Strange how there is no furniture to remove from a bathroom yet the whole house is a tip.

I had a photo upload tutorial the other day.Just too busy to do it at the moment.

As usual sons plans are now in flux again.Yikes I have just bought them some furniture to upcycle. Wont buy any more or my house will be like steptoes yard. The kitchen chairs are stored in my mini which is sorned on the drive!

    this is procrastination,must get on.

Yup, have a look on the Pickerings Gin site, they are not cheap but they are very pretty.

Well I did a little more xmas shopping today - got my DN a scented pencil case in Smiggle, had my eye on it for ages and it was in the sale from £12-ish to £8.50 and I don't expect them to have any more sales before xmas. Little concerned it might not keep its smell for 5mths so I've wrapped it in tissue paper and will put it away from strong smells so fingers crossed. Also got her some scented colour change pencils down from £10 to £5 (was going to get her some pencils with her name on but I thought these were quite cool). So that's her sorted.

I usually try and get some activity thing for her / family too - last year I got a 'pass the sprout' silly game for xmas day, so this year I'm going to get some Xmas colouring in place mats for them all.

Gawd Peppa,I am so sorry I didn't read when i posted this morning.I do hope your Mum is on the mend. It is a shock to realise they are not invincible.I was extremely upset when my Mum was ill earlier this year. My SIL Mum passed a couple of days ago after loudly telling evryone for the last 10 years she was on her last legs! Is that a funeral that I need to go to? I only met her a couple of times.

Kerri you have great ideas for gifts.I most certainly will be looking at the Pickerings website.I am having a rest.I have finished the bathroom and touched up the stairs yet again with gloss paint.Need to clear up now. Then on to DD2's room.
