The Range have a Christmas section up on their website: https://www.therange.co.uk/christmas/
Don't know if it has been mentioned before and if they have one all year round anyway? :rotfl:

Thanks for that Clumsy, just spent a good half hour on that link.I must resist buying any Christmas decs even those bargain ones from Argos.I could kit the street out.

It's so nice to come on here,so heartwarming to hear of lovely family times being had, memories being made.

Hope you are feeling better Muriexxx

Mrs I hope all was well at the hospital.

Peppa and 0642... are you on the home straight now?

I am having a rest.I have decorated the bathroom and DD2's room.Today all her stuff went back in and I washed and ironed her bedding and curtains.Mr V has just put her some pics up,it looks lovely,a young womans room not a teenager room any more.

The rest of the house looks like there has been an explosion.I have done no housework for weeks.

All this because I saw a bungalow for sale that I like.We are not in a position to go for it at the moment but it made me think. If we were I would not be happy to put the house on the market as it was. So just the spare room to spruce up now and I could be ready to go at a moments notice.

The bathroom looks much more inviting. It has part tiles which are not my taste but are modern and would be too expensive to replace.(did all that at the last house)The previous owner had painted it white and the tiles are cream ,it just looked too stark and cold.I have gone magnolia, painted the oak coloured window frame and bath panel and it looks so much warmer.

It was our wedding anniversary last Monday. We went to see Tom Binns who does all the main parts in Hospital People from the Tv.We have seen him before. He was practising his show for the Edinburgh Fringe. He did the psychic guy and the radio DJ.This is why we go as thats Mr V's job.He is very funny live, works better and faster than TV.

The decorating was not too much of a trial,I have obviously got some of my oomph back after cancer treatment. You forget that how you feel at the time will improve in the future.I don't know how i got married, had breat cancer then moved house twice had my gall bladder out and a huge spine opp whilst feeling quite rough. If it weren't for Arthritis there would be no stopping me.

Craft club tomorrow then off to the smoke to ikea and asda to look for a throw for DD2,not the bargain stag one but a plain one to go with her very busy bedding.Ooooo the pound shop have got those LP frames back in.woohoo.I love a bargain.

DD1's BF having an opp tomorrow on his arm,he damaged it climbing on Saturday. He will not be able to climb for a year and then not have the same strength as before.Tricky as he is a climbing instructor/coach!

Not long till my boy comes home from Canada. He has applied for a job at a university.Fingers crossed. His GF will be doing a masters in Physiotherapy.

Enough rambling.I havent forgotten the photo's

  • Thanks for the info about the range Christmas shop clumsy. What a horrible wet and windy day it definitely doesn't feel like summer. Booked my holiday for next year and paid the £30 deposit with hose seasons. So saving up for that, as i have a wedding to attend in December i want to do all my Christmas shopping gifts and food all sorted so that i can prepare my chronically ill body to be ok for the wedding. Free i went to a psychic fair the other weekend i love them.

Not much to report Christmas wise so far this week, other than boots have a few Yankee candle offers online but i resisted buying any.

  • had an inspiration as to what i can get my brother for Christmas, just have to look out for it being reduced. I am going to get him a kilner drinks dispenser with an ice cube tray for bottles and i will fill the dispenser with sweets. Still have to buy something else to go with it but i will find something.

I am still thinking of doing a split hamper for my grandparents but still unsure as to what to put in it. My gran is doing slimming world and my grandad is diabetic. so its a bit of a mine-field.

I bought the Argos tree decs, just couldn't resist for £1.49 :D

MRSI it sounds like you've had a fabulous time and it'll be the Christmas hols before you know it.

MURIE yes, even more shattered I think. I'm looking forward to a normal day at home tomorrow but knowing how things are going at the mo I bet it won't be! Hope you're feeling better now, it sounds horrible.

FREE the charms sound lovely. I've tried cleaning mine with a silver cloth but they don't come up like they do in the Pandora shop. I bought a couple of fake charms on eBay, they look exactly the same as the real ones but they've turned my bracelet black:eek: I thought I might throw myself on the mercy of the Pandora staff and see if they can get the offending bits back to the right colour.

Crikey VULPIX you're like an unstoppable force. I know what you mean about getting back to normal, I was striding out today with DGD and I realised just how far I've come since last year. I do definitely think the chemo has affected my brain power though because I know I can't keep all the balls in the air the way I used too. Well that's my excuse anyway ;) That's going to be difficult for DD's BF isn't it, let's hope they're looking on the black side and he'll heal really well.

Well the good news is that Mum was discharged from hospital today and is feeling much better. She's been to her flat and had something to eat and a drink there but she's going to sleep at my sister's for a few nights so she can get her confidence up before she spends he night on her own.

The disappointing news for me is that even though my liver biopsy is a day stay I have to be admitted the day before and spend the night as an in patient to 'save the bed'. How ridiculous is that? It just seems illogical to me that I have to take up a bed just to stop someone else getting it. I'm really not keen on the whole thing but if I decline to have it done I could end up regretting it so I'll just grin and bear it.

I'm trying to get used to my own hair and not wear the wig so I'm really hoping when I go to the hairdresser in a couple of weeks she'll say my hair is now strong enough to take a colour. It's bad enough it's shorter and more wavy than I'd like but the colour is definitely getting me down, I feel (and look) really dowdy.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Oh Peppa,I didn't know about the liver biopsy.best wishes for that.Fingers crossed for your hair colour. It makes you feel so much better with a bit of colour in it.You will feel more and more better as time passes.Thinking back to that fatigue I have come along way.It has been a slow but steady change but in comparison to a few years ago I am as different again as they say.

I only have a nice but fake pandora necklace.I dont wear much jewellery but I saw it and treated myself a couple of years ago.It is worth having the shop look at the black marks,I bet they have people asking the same all the time.Great news about your Mum.

Treasure queen, good ideas for your gifts. The elderly people in my life enjoy a hamper with slightly luxurious things they wouldnt buy for themselves.

    Afternoon everyone,

CLUMSY ooh I'm going to have a look thanks for the link

VULPIX haha you do make me giggle after all your hard work in the garden and in the house you would move just like that :o You have so much energy it puts me to shame I seem to get lazier as I get older!! Glad DS is looking at work in a university is it one local to you? Oh dear that isn't nice news for DDs BF he must be very upset seen as it is his livelihood, I hope the op goes better than expected

TREASUREQUEEN I love psychic fairs too we don't have that many round this way in fact this was the first one in a year I have been to. DD1 and I had a reading so we shall see if it comes true, she seemed spot on so hopefully!

PEPPAPIG oh perhaps I could take it into a Pandora shop then, thankyou. Oh I hope the liver biopsy goes as well as it can do, will be thinking of you. I agree how ridiculous the bed situation sounds. I am glad you are feeling a massive difference in how well you feel, I am actually fed up with colouring my hair and it not covering my greys so atm I am experimenting and not colouring but I am worried it will make me look dowdy not glamourous how some ladies can carry grey off :D

Vulpix- you truly are a wonder woman just like Mrs I!! Such energy and activity! Good on you (both) for not letting life get you down! Like Free I hope things work out OK for DDs' BF- that must have been a body blow for him. Has DS changed his mind again (yet) or is he still on track to come home? Has he applied for the job at the same Uni his GF is going to?

Peppa- sending hugs and positive vibes as usual. What a waste of a bed having to take that route. What colour are you thinking for your hair, ravishing red again or tantalising blonde? Fingers crossed your hair is strong enough to take the colour so your hairdresser can make you look a million dollars (not that you don't already!).

Clumsy- thanks for that link x

Treasurequeen- that's a fab idea for your DB's present.

    Sammykaye- hi!

    Hi,hello SammyKaye.

Treasure Queen I have seen those drinks dispenser things in Asda today for £4,not Kilner but a bargain I thought. They had quite a few summer things reduced today which might do fro people doing hampers and stocking fillers.

Bloomin pound shop had no frames.

Bought a new kettle as I broke the lid on the other very expensive one.It still works fine, one of those which lights blue as it boils,I will try to give it away to someone who is up to manually opening the lid! Too much for Mr V!

So far plans have stayed the same for a week with son and Gf.Haha the universities are about 200 miles apart.I think they will be up and down that motorway, there will be grooves in the tarmac.

No news of DD1's bf.He was admitted at 6:45am,they were going to phone her when he came out of surgery. No reply on hospital phone so I have told her to go up there. She says he was bad tempered because he was so hungry at lunchtime. That boy can eat.

My hair is not grey. The only thing about me that isnt old! but it is fine and mousey so I do lighten it a bit.I wish I had a mane of thick hair that goes that beautiful silvery white.

Are any of you readers? Anyone want to read an original book? Ds has written a short book that he would like people other than his Mother to read for some feedback.
