Afternoon everyone,
PEPPAPIG aww I'm with you on sitting around waiting for no good reason, hope you are able to pop home for a decent meal
04624181 oh I love a good clearout it makes me feel so much better
MURIE WOW just WOW it makes you sick doesn't it?? Kudos to your DS and DD for reporting it though, a lot of people would have been too scared to. But like you say you do wonder why you even bother sometimes when stupid sentences like that are handed out. I feel for that little boy what sort of a life must he have watching all that going on?
GYD I was watching something on tv the other night that said Gin is the fastest growing drink this year overtaking Prosecco its come back into fashion again
KERRI go for it, I wish I had the money to have mine done
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY I hope you have a good week too my lovely#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
Hi,just came on to a message telling me I had a PM.Ooops I had 6 when I looked,sorry folks,I am a drip.
Murie,I agree with all thats been said. What a dreadful example to that child.Well done your kids for reporting it.I hope the woman had the courage to leave the man.Wont say animal as it insults animals.
I dont know what microblading is but it sounds like a tattoo,am I right?
My SIL did loads of research before she had hers done and they look very natural. She virtually had no eyebrows from over plucking as was the fashion when we were young. She has had them topped up after about 6 months.Dont worry Kerri.I was thinking about having mine done because one has grown back better than the other but then I decided that its probably only noticeable to me.
Peppa, that's ace that you can nip home for the evening, good idea. When is it happening?
Been out spending money today.Got some new towels, bedside lamp for the spare room, new curtains and duvets for spare room,LP picture frames and some modelling clay which DD2 had asked for.Oh also got a garden candle for DD1's shopping bag and 2 clip top bottles for making elderflower cordial for the crimbo bags.
Quite a lot of the cheapo shops frequented by me, HB and B&M etc have sale stuff.Making space for new stock,Christmas is coming.
GTQ Thank You,you too.
Nice to see you GYD.

I feel so sorry for the whole family, although not the so called man. I really hope they manage to come through it although I think there may be cultural issues at play too.
On a happier note,
Vulpix go for it- DD is fair and has hardly any eyebrows , she absolutory loves her new eyebrows! She spends a fortune on eyebrow kits and brow pencils so over the course of the 18 months to 2 years they last she will save over all, plus all the time saved when getting ready. She said it wasn't painful just a bit uncomfortable in places but that was short lived.
I think you are right about places clearing the shelves for Christmas stock, ooh exciting! (Glad you managed to get the album frames).
Peppa- have you gone AWOL yet and are home munching a gourmet delight? Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight x
Free- I think you are right about gin being the 'in' drink this year, there are loads of trendy gin bars opening in Birmingham, they all have their own signature gin cocktails which the kids have recreated some for us and they are very very nice. I love one that DS makes that has pink rose lemonade in it- I cant remember what its called at the mo tho ( will ask him when he comes in). DH hates gin but even he likes some of the concoctions! I bet the likes of Boots and M&S have gin based gift ideas in their Christmas catalogues this year!lovin' this site!

Evening all
been laid up with a horrendous migraine that even my meds aren't touching  so while I have read back I have the memory of a goldfish
GTQ hope you have a great week too
Peppa hope you managed to get home for a decent meal hope things go ok
murie I totally agree with you some of the sentences handed out are ridiculous and def no deterrent its no wonder that people don't want to get involved anymore.Plus its a total waste of time & tax payers money
DD has decided she wants to have a sleepover for her birthday so I now need to work out where I'm meant to put 1/2 dozen teenage girls and what to do for food/drink/decs ect.
Had enough nectar point to get another lot of cinema tixs so that will give me something to do with the boys this week that won't cost a fortune if the lousy weather continues.
Tc allthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Evening all.
thanks for the comments about the microblading, the person doing it is a lovely beautician who has more energy than I can imagine (three boys aged 5 and under, own business with long hours and always more bubbles than a glass of fizz!) i've seen lots of photos of her work on her site and have total confidence in her. i'm sure if she wasn't a beautician she'd be doing something artistic, she's just got a 'knack' - now I just need to mention it to OH
Peppa hope you managed to get home ok and get a decent meal. Isn't it crazy how the NHS is crying out for beds yet you have to save yours like germans round a pool in summer.
Murie well done to yours for reporting something so awful but agree with what's been said the the 'sentence' makes a mockery out of the judicial system. Bring back the stocks on the village green.
mandco could you give the girls a dinner 'budget' and a takeaway menu? Save you cooking / trying to feed them and make them feel grown up ordering their own dinner.
GYD hope you love your baubles, I hope mine don't look sparse on the tree (we have a twig tree so no other decorations atm) - I'm super excited about them, i'll prob be sat under the tree muttering "my precious" in a typically LOTR manner come December :rotfl:
Gin is definitely big this year, my SIL got me into it a few years ago - clearly we're just trend setters as I love prosecco too.
Sounds like some xmas stuff coming together nicely for folks, I'm waiting eagerly for the xmas ranges to come into the £ stores to get a few bits (really want some colouring in placemats for my DN) but also trying not to wish the 'summer' away, such that it is atm.
Still waiting for little drawstring bags, will let you know what they're like when they arrive.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Mandco- Hopefully your migraine will be gone by now and not left you feeling too delicate x
I don't know if you have the room but when DD had a party with sleep over one year we managed to cadge some of those 2 man pop up tents that they slept in downstairs (we have a through living/dining room), there were abut 15 of them (aged 12/13) and they thought it was a blast to be indoor camping. Although to be fair it was a Halloween party and they spent most of the night scaring themselves silly ! I second the take away idea.. When is her party, perhaps we can all put our heads together on here and come up with decorating ideas?
Kerri (the trend setter!)- if the baubles look sparse on the twig tree you could make some coordinating colour ribbon bows to pad it out a bit, it depends how big the tree is I suppose and how 'decorated' you want it to look.
Peppa- thinking of you today xx
The weather is horrible again today, miserable sticky and wet. All my lot have the lurgy that DH bought back from France-I don't want to tempt fate but for once I am the healthy one! I am waiting for some personalised Emma Bridgewater mugs as there was a free personalisation offer on a while ago so it would have been rude not to take advantage wouldn't it? They will be going (carefully!) in the Christmas stash.lovin' this site!

Thinking of you Peppa, hope all goes well.
Murie, what gives this creature the right to behave like that? and what were the judiciary thinking when such an unrepresentative 'sentence' is given? All praise to your DD and DS though.
l second the takeaway idea, too (or third it?)
My eyebrows are white (age thing) and don't take a dye . ls micro-blading like hang gliding? Needs lots of courage and a following wind? that is? Maybe need some rhubarb and ginger gin first. l make sloe gin and damson gin most years, l love them both, but maybe time for a wee change.....
Going to have a lovely morning, Fave cous. fave niece and fave DGN are coming over. 3 generations of my crazy family in the same room.
Yesterday, though, grr vacuum cleaner stopped working and dishwasher wouldn't empty, l get the premonition of £20 notes peeling off a roll.
Actually the vac. was under guarantee and they are sending out a new motor unit, but the dishwasher is an old soldier, so will cost.0 -
I do love this thread, all the random chatter is just so .....well I can't think of the word but I love it, it's a proper little community.
Thanks for all the good wishes, I go in at two o'clock today (hopefully sneak home after that), stay overnight (taking my iPad so I'll probably be reading on here) then have the biopsy at ten tomorrow morning. I'll be nil by mouth for another three hours then all being well I'll be back home in the afternoon. I'm taking the good advice and using the time to plan pressies plus the car insurance is due so I need to shop around for that. Plus I'll be on here of course.
I've got to find out how to change the payment card linked to my Apple ID because I can't download any apps. I don't download anything I have to pay for but they have in app purchases so I can't get them without the security number on the back of the card and I don't have that card anymore. I won't do that in hospital though in case the wifi isn't secure.
MRSI, hope you have a fab morning, your family sounds a lot of fun. You're obviously a trendsetter too if you make gin already. You should def have a go at some new flavours, MURIE's DS can give you ideas.
MANDCO hope you're recovering now, a migraine that meds don't help definitely isn't the best way to pass the time. The teen sleepover sounds fun (for them not you lol). Would they like a Grease sort of theme, thinking pyjama party and beauty treatments? I'm sure MURIE will come up with some fab decorating ideas for whatever you decide to do.
KERRI your comments are really funny, not always totally PC but they do make me laugh, you have the knack of summing things up. :rotfl: It sounds like you've got the eyebrow thing sorted so I hope you go for it. Will we get pics when it's done?
V the shopping spree sounds fun, you're doing well topping up the Christmas bags. I must do some cheap shop visits, I love HB and B&M. They had some really nice hessian type bags in B&M with things about cheese and wine on them which I thought would be ideal for a deli hamper but they also had B&M in the corner so I didn't bother. I like to get my pressie bits from there but I don't want everyone to know
FREE now stop showing me up by getting all 0462's numbers right when you know I can't do it
MURIE the pink rose lemonade gin sounds appealing although to be honest I've always been very wary of it after getting horrendously drunk in my teens and being ill all night (not ideal with my vomiting phobia). I used to drink it with bitter lemon but this particular night had it with tonic .....I've not touched G&T since. To really date me, the only alcoholic drink I really like is Dubonnet with lemonade but very few pubs sell it now (and in those that do it tends to be a sedemented bottle they've had since the 1980s) and most of the bar staff have never even heard of it! When we go out my DDs say 'mum's coked off her nut' - Coca Cola not the other stuff lol. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Mrs I- you've probably already done this but check beneath the filter to see if anything has blocked it. My dishwasher wouldn't drain and I took it apart (as much as I could) and found a piece of cling film blocking the filter. Lord knows how it got in there but removing it solved the issue. I made rhubarb gin a few years back which was nice. Sounds as if you have a lovely day planned- enjoy xx (Micro blading is a semi permanent tattoo btw).lovin' this site!
:j0 -
Haha Mrs I,I think I will decline your type of micro blading. It sounds like rollerskates to me or those running blades for tiny amputees.Poor old dishwasher.I never wanted one but I love it now.
Peppa,today is the day.Thinking of you.xxx
Mandco hope you are feeling better, migraine is the pits.xxxTake away sounds good for a party or if you feel up to it a make your own pizza party.I have done that in the past for DD2.When DD1 was 13 we had 5 girls coming for a sleepover.I was dreading the riot. They spent the whole evening in her bedroom playing their musical instruments they had brought with them!No pop music blaring but nice classical pieces floating through the house!
Kerri I have the answer to your sparse tree, more gin baubles!
Result at swerving the lurgy Murie.
Well Ds and GF left Banff yesterday and are making their way by train across country to Montreal. Then on to Iceland and home.It will be nice to have him home, until he gets on my nerves that is!
Need to get up and do some decorating in the spare room then.
