Oops, started a post last night but forgot to come back and finish it!

Well DH was kept in last night. I've spoken to the ward today and apparently they're going to have a fifth try at getting the catheter in place and if they can't do it then it'll be a camera to see what's going on. I have a feeling he could be in for a few days but keeping everything crossed that he isn't.

I didn't stay up to see the new year in either although the fireworks were like blooming bombs so I was awake.

Pouring with rain here this morning so definitely making me think ahead to spring. I like the cold but not the damp and wet. Off to persuade the dog she wants to get out of her bed and go outside now. :D looking forward to going in to see DH when visiting starts at 2.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Peppapig Thanks for taking the time to give us an update on your DH. Hopefully they manage to get the catheter in as it must be rather uncomfortable! :( Not the best of starts to the new year.

Evening Everyone, we took all the decs down today and took the tree out ready for recycling it looks like someone has wiped over my LR with a screen wiper on a computer and taken all the colour out haha. Its just DD1 and myself tonight so we are opening a bottle of fizz to bring the new year in and then tomorrow everyone is over for my Roast Beef dinner. I just want to say Happy New Year to all my pals and i wouldnt have got through this year without you all, you are all fab!!! :D

PEPPAPIG i hope it is good news for you my lovely will cross my fingers until the end of the month. I hope DH gets sorted out without you having to spend hours in A&E

NIC i do the bullet journalling, it doesnt matter how you do it, everyones is different, and it doesnt matter if you make mistakes. You should see mine i have been using for the last few months to see if i would keep it up but it makes me happy writing lists, notes, colouring with felt tips etc DS bought me a proper one with dots for christmas so i will try to be neat but i am not going to worry about it. Pinterest has loads of ideas thats how i started now i know what i use and what i dont, good luck!

MURIE i hope SS get their act together and help your BIL see sense, i hope you have a lovely evening

04624181 i havent finished this months challenge yet as i ran out of blooming ribbon so need to get back to Hobbycraft so will be late putting mine on here

Thanks for replying Freespirit. Ive had a look some more and jotted ideas down seperatly before I start. I do love lists, doodling, tick lists etc, but I have loads of notebooks sitting blank as I daren't make a mistake or put something out of order. I will make one of my plans to be more relaxed about things like that. I do have a calander in the kitchen and it's very organised. It needs to be with, work, 3 kids and their activities. But I need something for my bag and next to my bed for when I wake panicking. I want to be able to plan and acutally achieve things this year. If I have it in a list I know I will do it, or try.

Peppepig- sorry to hear your hubby is having a rough time too. Hope he gets answers and is home quickly.

I stayed up for th bells and was asleep by 12:30am. I just ŵent a nice long walk with the kids. So feel fresh and energised. Looking forward to home made steak pie (made yesterday) and hm berry pavlova for our New Years day dinner, then tomorrow it's back to the healthy regime.

    Happy New Year everyone! _party_

Peppa - Hope your husband is better and home soon. xx

Mandco - Sorry to hear about your cat. And I hope your puppy makes a full recovery. xx

Finally got to see Fantastic Beasts at the cinema with my sister and dad last night. I'm a proper HP nut so waiting so long to see it was awful. :rotfl: Great film! Can't wait for the sequel. And I really need a Niffler... :rotfl:

Saw the new year in the usual way - waiting up and then straight to bed after 12. I'm so rock and roll.

Emptied my Good Things jar today and made a 2017 tag ready for the months ahead. :T

My health has taken a turn for the worst, a ME and fibro flare up the weather probably isn't helping either. On a good note went to see Cinderella at Bournemouth pavilion on Friday and it was so much fun, i cant remember the last time i laughed so much. I hope to see a panto this Christmas too, make it a tradition of sorts.

I haven't bought anything else in the sales as i couldn't find anything in stock online and i haven't the energy to go to the shops. I am getting a kitten on Wednesday, will post pics when i get my internet up and running in my new flat.

This year i want to do something on new years eve for my mum, dad and brother but haven't decided what to do. I have a few crafting projects i need to do throughout the year for Christmas. I am taking me decorations down tomorrow as i need to wait in for a delivery.

mandco-hope your puppy feels better soon.
3 for holidays-A bird theme for this month sounds like a good idea xx

Hubby fell asleep on the couch about 11pm, DS was on his xbox until I called him down a 11.45pm. DD has suspected chicken pox! lol I honestly would not have it any other way, I absolutley love my family and all the chaos xx All in all when the clock struck midnight we were all awake, counting down together and a big family hug x Then straight to bed lol xx

Just bought a couple of games in m&s sale online. Bought my dad the music trivia quiz sticks at christmas which we all played, it was great x
Hope everybody has a great day xxx Need to transfer my calender dates over into my new calnder x
  • Happy new year everyone, not read back yet, but hope you all had a fab Christmas and all the planning paid off. Had a chilled break in that I didn't get out of the pit too early any day, but was on nursing duty! Thankfully, she is better than she was, but it will be a slow process as she has her age against her and a poor immune system, due to having had cancer, but she will get there, at least eating a tiny bit more than when I went home.

Had a horrible journey back today, sea was a tad rough  and weather was carp for driving in, however, I made it home in 6 hours once I got off the ferry, so can't complain. Got home to evidence the squatters may not have left:mad:

I tried many ways to get rid of the visitors I had last year, and the ONLY thing that worked for me was an electric mouse trap like this one

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Advanced-Control-Instant-Electronic-Device/dp/B0146COH92/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1483303330&sr=8-3&keywords=electronic+mouse+trap

I varied the items I placed in it, and found that a bit of bread with nutella type chocolate spread on it worked rather well.

The added bonus is that there is no mutilated body to deal with at the end. Simply tip the dead critter into the bin. Wipe the inside of the device out (per the instructions as the other family members can apparently smell their relative on it which makes them avoid the trap) and set it up again. It took about 3 - 4 weeks before I felt that I had caught all the visitors. This is simply because they seemed to become more cautious after one was caught so tended to steer clear of it for days at a time.

    Happy new year all.
I have followed the other threads for years but never jumped in.
I only went back to work from maternity leave in September so had no really savings for Christmas so used the dreaded credit card and safety account for gifts
    So annoyed at myself.
Not wanting to that this year.

As already bought in the sales for next year: family cards, wrapping paper and tags.

We have a 16 month old whose birthday is in august so want to buy things per month when it's a good deal so I am not over spending.

I hope you all had a good Christmas & new year.

I am ready to get stuck in! X
