GTQ what's your budget? Would it stretch to one of the experiences from someone like BuyaGift? I bought DH a flying lesson once and for his 50th I bought a riding lesson from a local stable and we went horse riding because he loves horses but had never been. Obviously both before his health deteriorated lol.
Didn't think of that option, thanksA smile costs little but creates much0 -
Morning all, Managed to drag the kids out of bed early so we can go shopping for the school things they have grown out of, ready for back to school on monday. Also off out for a few hours with a good friend and her son later on, looking forward to that. Managed to get the ironing done and put away, need to hoover through again and flick over the bathroom but the house is looking ok to say the kids are off lol.
GTQ- Men are so difficult to buy for. Is there a football/rugby team he supports? Maybe a stadium tour? A wine/whiskey tasting session? (sorry you have probably thought of these already)
Free- Crackers are always a good find xx Hope you ok xx
peppa- what a lovely idea, a horse riding experience xx
Caitlyn22- Welcome back, sorry to hear about your mum. Sounds like you had a lovely christmas and I too think all us christmas crazy lot are made of strong stuff lol a research study would prove this lolxx0 -
Welcome home CAITLYN. It sounds like you've had a very traumatic couple of years but lovely that it's been the catalyst for you to shake your life up and try something new and return to your roots at the same time. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

Nothing christmassy done round here apart taking all the decorations down and throwing put all my old odds and sods of gift tags and Christmas cards. Sales round here are rubbish. Nothing really worth getting for next year. The only bits I bought were 2 pairs of footlets slippers from Primark which were reduces to a pound each . Will put them away for my mum and sister.
Just sat and realised I need to renew my passport asap. There's £80 gone this month so there won't be much done on the Christmas front.
Last year I started saving £2 on my iceland savings card every time I bought something. Ended up with £150 by Christmas and I bought a lot of store cupboard bits from there and it really came in handy so I've started it again this year already up to £6.00 as I've been in a few times to try the slimming world bits x0 -
nipped into B&M this evening to see if they had a colour in tablecloth for xmas I was going to put away for my nieces - needless to say they didn't. Booo.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

morning again, the days go fast! taking DD to fracture clinic today, see what they do next as her foot is still very swollen and bruised, may not be ready for plaster.
DS1s visit to the dietician was unhelpful, but at least he is on their radar now.
l have treated myself to a smartwatch, on DGS' recommendation, now l have to find out how it works and what it does, and if it does do what it says it does do.
The sales have been poor here this year, l have saved a fortune! Cards, tags and wrap are the only things l have bought, and really l could have done without them. Hope the Boots 70% is better. Although l really need to sit down and work out exactly who needs what, as the Christmas cupboard is still full, and can easily be matched to recipients. lt is mens stuff l really need, and l don't enjoy buying that so much.
There is a stack of ironing to do and the dust is thick enough to write in.
Better make a start, get DGS to school. xx0 -
Hi everyone I am back internet has been connected now and everything has all slotted into place. I have got the kitten (miley) she is a little rascal but we are getting there. its only the 2nd day I have had her and she seems very happy, scratch post is being used thank god and she likes a lot of noise (which is good when the fireworks are going off and she doesn't bat an eyelid). I picked up a few Christmas cat toys in the range clearance sale that Miley can have in her Christmas stocking this Christmas. I have been looking at gifts for my aunt and uncle and I like the idea of ceramic tile wall art thought it would be a good gift so have put it on my idea gift spreadsheet. https://www.amazon.co.uk/YH-Arts-Beach-Ceramic-Multi-Colour-12-Inch/dp/B018AXTIEW/ref=sr_1_38?ie=UTF8&qid=1483706664&sr=8-38&keywords=ceramic+tile+art
My aunt and friend have said to stop buying for birthdays and Christmas from now on just send cards so that will be £40.00 saved each year. I changed my tv package from virgin to sky and got a £100 amazon voucher so that will go towards presents throughout the year.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480 -
Treasurequeen- lol at your Miley, our 'Miley' turned out to be a bruiser of a Bailey at 4 moths despite the vet saying he was a she! Whatever your new family member turns out to be Im sure you will have lots of love from him/her xlovin' this site!

Aftenoon all. The 2 year old niece was round this morning so I'm quite tired now. :rotfl:
Went for a meeting/sort of interview about volunteering in a library a few days ago. It's for supporting people with computers. I'd really have liked to do something closer to adult literacy but I'm starting here for now. It went well so should be starting in a few weeks. Just hope I have the energy for it!
I've been tasked with writing a birthday list. Not very easy when we've only just had Christmas! :rotfl:
Hope everyone is as well as can be. xx“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

Caitlyn- as Peppa says welcome home! Glad your are able to head in a positive direction after the rocky road you've had to travel x
Treasurequeen- that is an unusual piece of artwork Ive not seen anything like that before.
Mrs I- Hopefully your DD will have been able to have a cast and be a little more comfortable now. Ooh get you! Techno wizard with a smart watch! DS loves his and is lost without it.
Clumsy- the position at the library is a foot in the door towards your ultimate goal well done x
Nothing Christmassy here, I've not seen anything in the sales nor have I been tempted by anything on line. I have just ordered DNs 21st present though (October so I am ahead of myself in the birthday present stash).
Hope everyone has a good weekend!lovin' this site!
