Wow FREE that tree is fabulous and not just for Christmas either so win win. I must admit I didn't do the December challenge, for some reason the month sort of got away from me after the first week and it was Christmas before I knew it.

Well done on de-lurking CAZD. You could make your own hamper, there are lots of lovely baskets about, and then you could choose to put in only things you know he'll like. If you maybe bought one item a week it would be like saving the money but no chance of dipping into it lol.

MRSG that's quite a few milestone birthdays, looks like you'll have a busy year when you combine it with all your elf activities.

CHRISSY your DD certainly has an adventurous spirit, does she get that from you?

MANDCO I envy you, the three parts of our super big Christmas tree are currently taking up the floor space in the spare bedroom while I wait for DH to go up in the loft and get its box down so it can be put away.

Thanks for the SS comments MANDCO, FREE and LMG (still MM to me lol). I've realised it won't be quite as MSE as I thought because I forgot that we'll all be buying as individuals rather than couples but at least it'll be fairer on my mum and DD1 who don't have partners. Going to talk to my sister and DD2 about it and see what they think but I'm hoping we can give it a try this year. If it doesn't work we can always change it for 2018.

Not picking up the DGSs today after all as DD1 can't start work today as her DH has suspected noro virus (winter vomiting bug) and she can't risk infecting the people in the hospice. If he isn't sick anymore she'll be able to go in at the end of the week so I'll have them on Friday afternoon instead.

Erm that would be a definate no ! My ideal holiday is UK based via car.I like just throwing everything in the car and going at our own pace. We are doing a small road trip to Devon/cornwall later this year partly to see hubbys family and also dd wants to go to the witchcraft museum in cornwall. As long as i get to see the sea i'm happy.

Think I'm with you on that CHRISSY, I like UK holidays, usually in a cottage (self catering) with no requirement to be any where at any particular time. Once I have time constraints it becomes a stress rather than a holiday so I'm pretty hopeless at airports.

Just thinking about going to an airport gets my stress levels rising although we have said Nov 2018 we will go to lapland/finland somewhere like that for the northern lights.
I did think being Autistic when she went to the Caribbean last January the airport/flying would be hard for her but she managed and actually found it boring not stressful !

Oooooooo Free that tree is lovely.I did post a pic of a cushion I had sewn but it was early as I have to rely on DD1 or her BF to visit to do it for me.

I think I remember 0426... popping on and saying birds was a good idea for this months theme.Someone else suggested it as it is the RSPB 's bird survey? I think.I struggle to think of ideas.Everyone makes such lovely things and I make cushions:rotfl:

I'm glad you took the trouble to listen to the story, after all the fuss I made about it! I sound so poorly and that was after being dosed up with goodness knows what.

I have never done the hamper thing but I buy stuff and keep it in a box in the spare room or when my son was a ravenous teenager in my Mum's spare room.I found a few things the other day I had hidden at the back of a cupboard.Nice surprise and all gone now.

I havent been on holiday in the Uk since I was a child.I would love to again, there are so many places I would like to see here.I have bought the Sun today for the holiday voucher.I would like a few days at the seaside in a caravan like we used to enjoy.

When I was about 12 I met a girl on holiday from London. We were penpals for years.I was envious as her youthclub were forever going on trips to be the audience on TOTPs. I think this thread is like penpals, but quicker.

Chrissy, you are so organised with your gifts.Respect.

I found the Santa stop here sign in the garden today, oops.

    Vx

I do recall this month's craft theme being birds as it is Chinese New Year this month and it's the year of the Rooster (there were a couple of other reasons but that one stuck with me)

Apologies that I won't be crafting, I don't have a lot of craft stuff and this year need to make a personalised Santa sack for DN2 as her big sister got one made for her so I feel it's only right she has one too (sewed the entire applique design by hand except the stars - took me bloomin hours but was so pleased with the result - didn't expect a DN2 to come along though..and she has a long name :rotfl: )
