I would love to join in please, long time lurker here.
Have picked up quite abit in the sales which I am slowly wrapping-sounds daft when we've just had Christmas 2016, but I have so many to buy for and I physically cannot do it all in December. Need a major op this year and cannot walk(have spinal damage and an amputee) so get tired very easily. The more planning I can do the better.
The best present I got this year besides 1100 teabags:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: was a decorative exercise book which I have been bullet pointing all the birthdays I have this year and monitoring spends. Have really found this helps to stay in control.
Also document each and every Christmas present, I find it so much easier in December then.

Basketcase ouch to the shoulder, a very extreme way for an muse Christmas
im quite sure no one minded no Xmas cards, and I always seem to have excess gift bags that never get used and get added to each year from people giving me gifts in them, so at least you got to clear those out
hope it heal soon quickly for you xx
Caitlyn22 I do the same thing when buying for kids, we have lots of DN's split into what I calll batch 1 (teens) and batch 2 (7 and under down to babies) I constantly get the ages of the younger ones mixed up so generally steer away from clothes just to be on the safe side :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Thanks everyone, feeling very relieved to have got positive news.
Welcome to the thread BASKETCASE and HAPPYKITTIES, you're def in the right place for great Christmas planning and chat.
GTQ your pantomime trip was fabulous value, glad you all had a great time and hope you dried off quickly. You must all think alike arriving to eat in the same place at the same time lol, it does make such a difference when you don't have to stress about meeting up.
Ha ha to you CAITLYN with the wine and the Milk Tray, it's a slippery slope isn't it lol. I used to be the same with Cola, it always lead to chocolate. Actually it still would if I could drink it.
Not much going on here today. Had lovely time with the DGSs last night but been raining all morning. Mum is coming round this afternoon but basically just killing time til the darts final at 4:15It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Afternoon everyone, bit of a pj day here today i slept for 13 1/2 hrs last night, didnt wake up until 12.15!!! I have started my christmas savings and have got first stocking filler for DD1 put away. Her pandora charm for her birthday arrived yesterday so that is put away, am feeling very organised atm but at least i know if it all goes belly up this year i have money to buy presents. I have to text my sisters to say i am not buying for DN and DN anymore. I never even got an acknowledgement let alone a thankyou off of one sister, but i keep putting it off because i feel awful, but if they cant even say thankyou then its tough.
PEPPAPIG that is fantastic my lovely, you must be thrilled with that news, i hope the procedure went ok yesterday
GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY the pantomime sounds fab glad you had a great time
VULPIX oooh get you :rotfl:haha. I never really liked them either to be honest, sometimes quite funny then sometimes silly, glad you had a lovely time though

Well done FREE for taking the decision not to buy the ungrateful nieces any more. It's very wrong of your sisters to let gifts go unacknowledged or for thanks not be forthcoming. Spend the money on you or your own children instead. You've got such a thoughtful, lovely family, it's just a shame the wider family aren't quite as well brought up. Now lady, send those texts! :TIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0

PEPPA I just wanted to say fantastic on ur good news:j
FREESPIRIT-my daughter is 18 and as soon as the family went home after Christmas, she wrote her thank you notes. I'm a firm believer in it. Even on Christmas Day, family that has visited just before Christmas and took their presents with them, were texting on Christmas Day to say thank you and vice versa.
It must be very frustrating that u don't even get an acknowledgement:(Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Peppa,Marvellous news.What a fantastic start to 2017.xxxx
Get well to anyone who is under the weather or hurting xxx
The drawers are looking good. They are scandi looking 60's vibe.Someone had previously updated them by staining them dark mahogany and adding very fancy handles. When I came to take the handles off I see that there is a groove under each drawer to pull it.So the new knobs I bought will just have to wait for another project. Now the drawers have had 2 coats of colour they look slightly more "olive".It is possible they will be finished today.
I have decided to write myself lists so I get on with stuff that has been hanging about for ages.Like a bullet journal but on scraps of paper:rotfl: My daughter keeps buying me beautiful note books but I cant write in them, they are too nice.I want to do the write nice things that happen and keep in a jar thing.I am too good at dwelling on the negative at times.Strange how I can dwell on negatives and forget the nice times.
I also need to get back into a routine for some cleaning.I am very good at being tidy so that is half the battle,I can get away with not cleaning very often!
If I post my list I might get on with it.So today I WILL touch up the emulsion in the kitchen from when I had the tiles fitted.Better get on with it then.

PEPPAPIG thanks for the advice my lovely, you know it will take me ages to text haha
HAPPYKITTIE yes i used to do that when my kids were littlies get the thankyou letters wrote out to everyone who had bought a present for them, its just a little thing but basic manners. I dont need a full page letter even if it was a text with thanks for the money it would be fine
VULPIX the drawers sound lovely, you will have to get your DD to upload a photo when they are finished
