    Hi,

Well Free you just might be in luck.DD1 is visiting today. She has a new job and doesn't work Tuesdays. She wants to come here for some quiet as she is writing an essay for her masters.

I will just go and wax the C of D before she gets here and she can take it away.Woohoo.It's not her birthday yet but she might as well have it now,and I can have the space back.

I did my paint touch up yesterday. It took 5 mins, honestly!About 5 months putting it off.So today I will sand and undercoat a doorframe.

My Mum is having her cataract removed tomorrow.

    Vx

aww free its hard isn't it.. my family decided to buy for just children last year (NOONE told me!) so theres me arriving with gifts for everyone and them looking at me blankly. luckily the gifts we had got them were all addressed from my girls to them and were all under £10 each but it would have been nice to be informed before hand! that would have been £50 extra in my bank lol this year they aren't getting personalised pressies it will just be a gift set either smellies or drink/edible. £5 at most from my youngest daughters (im a firm believer in the girls knowing about giving as well as receiving so it bugs me that my family have decided to do that but nevermind)

Did well this week xmas wise.. tescos had reduced their xmas wrap/gift bags and cards down to 10p when i popped in.. so got 130 pieces of wrapping paper and 8 gift bags for £2.10. Then went into wilkos and all their xmas items were £1 and less.. and got 5 toys that were reduced right down too (barbie, a cars playset (the movie cars that is) batwing toy, uno game and pony set) all down to £1 so thats my nephew sorted for bday and xmas and a couple for my dd4. I also got some airfresherner things down to 10p, calendar for living room 10p, biscuits/milkybar sets 10p. wall vinyl sleigh and reindeer for the windows 25p (lots cheaper than i can make them for) and a few other bits.

Cupboard has nearly filled one shelf so far! still undecided if to bother going to the boots sale or not. I only need some cheap stocking fillers for dd3 this year. i have got dd2 some smelly sets i know she'll like already and dd4 has the sets i got in boots the other day. I might go see if theres anything for the family left (£10 sets and under though lol so they will be £3 and below) kinda hoping the pickers will have cleared the shelves before i get there teehee.

I'm back on my healthy eating and feeling so much better for it! i would only want to lose 7lbs this year so that would only take a month at the most so not really going for it! it can come off as and when. Still walking 7 miles a day! anyone else changing their weight/exercise this year?

Not got much planned this year really.. dd3 is doing her gcse's so in her last full year.. year 11 in sept so can't plan anything during the term time so no holidays i think... might get some day trips in, in the holidays but we shall see.. A year being home and decorating oh and putting the house on a diet, as my dh calls decluttering lol.

    Hope you're all ok xx

Mrs G that's annoying about the presents and family,at least you are all on the same page now.

Those are some good bargains you have there,I live in the sticks and am never in the right place at the right time for mega bargains like that.

I am also eating healthy this year,I put 7lbs on over Christmas! I have lost 5 already but would like to lose 1 1/2 stone this year.I'm also trying to crack on with all those little jobs round the house. I have sanded and undercoated a door frame today.

DD1 gone, drawers gone, massive vase gone, glass dessert bowls gone, bag of recycling gone.Bin men never came because of snow and my bin is full.I love a good declutter.

  • Thats great news peppa. Welcome to the newbies you will love this forum. I haven't bought very much in the sales as I cant seem to find anything. I have managed to get a few more Christmas pet presents in my local pet shop that were half price so they are put away. five things all for under £4.00. My rent in my council flat was lower than I expected so the money I have saved is going into a savings account towards Christmas and vet bills for the year.

Thank you HAPPYKITTIES, VULPIX and TREASUREQUEEN.

VULPIX that chest of drawers is very stylish, bet DD was very happy.

FREE hope your headache has eased off a bit, it's horrible when they're like that and don't respond to medication especially when you've already had a day with a migraine.

MRSG I would very much like to lose a few pounds and get more exercise this year having spent most of last year doing very little!

I've been thwarted in my efforts to walk with my sis and her dog each morning by hospital appointments. Was going to do tomorrow and Thursday morning as they're going away for a long weekend on Friday, but now have a dental appointment in the morning so will just be Thursday. Hopefully can pick it up again from Tuesday when they're back. I'm hoping to arrange some 1:1 sessions with a personal trainer but need to sort out whether or not I'm having more surgery this year first. It would be an ileostomy reversal but I won't find out til 24th whether it's possible and even if it is I don't know yet if I'll do it. I do hate making big decisions.

Had a lovely lunch out today with family for my sister's birthday so feeling very lazy this afternoon. :D
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • i use the step counters which i find boosts me on.. the amount of miles i've covered since april last year is silly! lol i've gone from wheezing my head off just walking up a hill to chasing the dog up them! started off slowly with 3 miles during the whole day to doing the 7 miles in an hour and a half ish. think the key is just getting up and doing it isn't it. doesn't matter if its around in circles in your house or out and about.

My brother had a colonoscopy reversal done about 16 years ago i guess. He has had issues since but he was so thankful to not have the bag any more ( he was 13 when it was first done, not an easy age to go through that) i can understand both sides of your decision making.. hope you decide which will be best for you though without too much stress.

I've got a good 8 years of clutter to remove! lol still got to get dd1 to come get her stuff,, shes not been here since april last year and its still hogging space. Kids huh lol even when they are adults they are still taking up room ;)

Thanks MRSG, my DD has a Fitbit but I think it does much more than I want it to so maybe a step counter would be better. Which one do you have if you don't mind me asking?

g'morning, Peppa, what great news!! (waddya mean, you spent last year doing not much?--you spent it fighting a humungus battle, and won!!!) l don't do exercise as such, as l used to find pushing 65 was hard enough, but now l am dragging it !!! much harder.
What excellent bargains you all got. l am not going to the boots sale/lam not going to the boots sale/lam not going to the boots sale. God help me, l have so many toiletry sets l don't need any more. (but that little devil on my shoulder keeps prodding me with his fork and whispering ''70% off, what a bargain'')
Vulpix, that chest of drawers looks brilliant, you are so talented.
Busy day today, taking DS2s friend to Carlisle for his Pip face to face interview, these beaurocrats don't care how difficult they make it for us mere mortals, he is wheelchair bound, with cerebral palsy, local train station doesn't have disabled access to the platform he needs, and he cant self propel the chair, and the place is 35 miles from here and none of his family can drive, and l am at my max driving that distance, Rant over, Mrsl is back in her calm mode, off to get DGS up for school.
