    That's got me puzzled.

I don't see anything at all nasty/bossy/whatever in either of the posts - yours or Kittie's. They both sound just plain factual to me.

I thought Kittie's reply was very dismissive of the help offered to her.

I wondered where those white feathers came from, I thought it was the pigeons. If it's Mrs B dropping them, I wish she'd come and clear them up, she knows I have my work cut out with all the leaves off the oak trees.

Well PennyForThem posted a nice post offering some practical help, the response wasn't very nice, Kittie's first paragraph was downright rude in my opinion. I remember thinking at the time how dismissive she was. As MissBiggles1 said about being the "right" sort of widow, for Kittie it is very much on her terms and devil take the rest.

I have to say if someone I loved died and wanted to send me a message I would hope for something a bit more meaningful than a feather. Is there some special meaning to feathers? Maybe I missed something.

Perhaps MrsB wants to keep you on your toes.

  • Wasn't there a spat on that thread a while ago when it was closed down for a time due to it not being on the track the OP wanted?

Aren't feathers supposed to signify Angels (feathers from their wings) are around? Or is that just my own understanding of it?

There's that old saying - something about "more strange than between heaven and earth". Or whatever it is. ;)

I always considered myself a confirmed atheist and was very dismissive until I started seeing them all over the place - even in a room with closed windows.

Short fluffy ones after mums death and larger straight ones after my husband's death. I have no idea what they signify, or even if they signify anything at all.

I am keeping an open mind.

Dad died earlier this afternoon. I am relieved to say it was peaceful and painfree.

So that's 3 important deaths in 2 years 4 months.

Hopefully we're done and 2017 will see happier times for our family.
  • I've frequently read comments from various people about feathers - and it's taken to mean that there is an angel watching over you from what I recall. Now - from my own personal experience - I do firmly believe there is something/somebody watching over me (could be an angel/could be a friend or relative that is no longer with us/who knows?). I'm keeping an open mind as to the source of "help" I've had several times in my life now. It's crystal clear I've been protected several times over my life and I could cite proof of it and, to me, it doesn't particularly concern me as to who or how is doing the protecting. I just accept it when it happens.

Don't know quite what to say LL to that - other than to say "Thinking of you" again. Take care.

That smacks of carelessness; you'd have thought they'd look after their appearance better. Trust me to get a scruffy one.

Maybe you've got John Travolta as your angel, he was very scruffy!
