Aw Bossy - hopes dashed, how very sad.

It went well. Our other sister spoke beautifully

It's a difficult time of the year for so many people.

Happy Solstice (still just!) to LW and MrLW.

We had a lovely day with an easy drive to Corby and back, nearly 4 hours catching up with our friends, and an excellent lunch :D
Then an hour's carol singing for me with people from church at the big MrS in our parish - lots of money collected for the Children's Society :D

Tomorrow I must start flying and wrapping presents.

Shed a few tears this morning for my cousin and his wife. Their baby arrived yesterday just too early for him to survive. Must be doubly hard since our other cousin just had her baby 2 weeks ago. Life is just !!!!!! sometimes...
Oh Bossy - I'm soo sorry to hear that. It's always so sad when that happens but seems doubly so the C week. Condolences to all.

Pleased to hear your day went well Valli. Sending you some hugs.

Sending you some hugs as well. I understand how hard it must be for you but amongst the tears try to remember all the good times you had together.

So today I did the dailies and karchered the windows.
Pleased I bought the light-weight upright today, as managed to do all the floors throughout (well kind of ;) )
Made a list for DH for shopping t/m before he goes to work. Don't need much, as out for C dinner, and so just milk etc to get over the weekend.

Hugs, gws vibes, sticks and spoons for all needing some
Hope you all have a stress-free Thursday

At last the very complex report has been sent off.
The cake is out of the oven.
I actually think that all I have to do tomorrow morning is pack. Unless you include cleaning the whole house, wrapping Mr N's presents (will be done at mum's) and 101 things I have doubtless forgotten.

Have a very happy Christmas all of you, with the minimum of stress and sadness, illness or worries. x
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • I think I have caught up and have actually taken out my geneology paperwork (an old hobby which has gone on the backburner since grandchildren arrived). I have a Xmas lunch today and babysit tonight so will just do S&S all round this afternoon and last minute shopping. Tomorrow we are due the storm and as I live in a very exposed part of UK, it will be a day ashore - probably doing family history if electricity is on.

Hope you all get a few minutes to yourselves at some point today

Morning, the cat decided that 5am was a good time for me to wake up by jumping on to me from the windowsill.

I have filled the wm and put my phone on charge.

Katiecat hugs it must be a difficult time X
Valli I'm glad your sister had a good send off and will continue to think of you in the coming months X

  • Morning all,

A quick one from me as today's the date, my grandma is moving! Just about to shower and make a bacon butty. Will give the bedroom a quick tidy before I go.

Already looking forward to the pizza and celebratory fizz tonight!

Katiecat and Valli - you are both in my thoughts xx

    See you all later X

  • Hi all

Awful news Bossy and Valli - and anyone else thinking of departed loved ones - hugs x

Been so busy with the paid stuff all week that I havent even thought about Christmas preparations. Feels like I am the only person in the world still working!! Need to have one massive push to tie things up on job no. 2 this afternoon which will be really hard (working from home).

20 mins done on spinning bike this morning and I have put a load of washing in. House needs a dust and hoover, may end up doing that first thing Christmas Eve morning. Supermarket shop tonight. Need to work out what we are having for tea!

I have always wrapped stocking fillers. Mine are getting a £5 Costa voucher, some sweets, some headphones and something silly that hopefully makes them smile. Big presents this year are lots of practical things now that they are older. I decided against just giving them money because I want to have a say on what it is spent on.

Right best get ready for work. Have a good day everyone and dont get too stressed about what still needs to be done!

Valli- I've been thinking of you
Hugs to those who are dealing with tough stuff.
Honeybear Thanks for your words of wisdom

I've decided to draw a line under any serious flying and just S&S between now and Crimbo. We still need to put Christmas decorations up and wrap gifts so I'm going to try and enjoy it all at a relaxed pace so I have enough energy for Christmas day
