  • Well,

Wm on, bed stripped, dw on, all rooms hoovered, kitchen mopped, things slightly tidier, lunch made and eaten, parcel waited in for.
Now I'm off to brave the shops as I've got one last thing to get that I forgot at the weekend.
Also two things to post and run out of wrapping paper and the girls want to get daddy a birthday present (it's tomorrow).
Then I've got to walk the dog, put another layer of varnish on the downstairs bedroom floor, wrap the rest of the pressies and then go out for tea with family.
    Phew.
Ps forgot to say lw and Mr lw have a lovely solstice x

    Solstice Blessings everyone.
We managed to have our mulled wine while watching the sun rise; it was chilly out, but not unbearable, and with the ancient hedge at the back of us pretty much leafless this time of year, we were able to watch the magpies, pigeons and squirrels all going about their business.:o

A very special Wolfy (((HUG))) for Valli.

I can't put them under or on it because there's a lot of marzipan and chocolate and it's right next to Kelpie's basket. He's lost nearly 4 kgs so far with at least another to go and there's no way he could resist all that sugar.
And of course human chocolate is so very bad for doggies; best to play safe. ;) Give Kelpie a cuddle from his Auntie Wolfy.

Dancemum I hope that karma catches up with the scumbags in a big way.

Mr LW has identified a few films he wants recorded (there was a 2-week guide thingy in the Saturday Telegraph); I've suggested he mark them with a highlighter, as some of them are over a week hence, and I'll set them up to record as soon as it's possible to do so. I can't claim to be over-enthusiastic myself, but if it makes him happy, I'll sit through them. :o I may even get some more of my cardigan knitted! :D

Mid afternoon check in! Had a lovely chat with my friend, quick lunch and since then I've done another load of washing which is hung up to dry, vaccumed right through, put stuff into recycling and into black bin ready for bin day tomorrow. Now going to catch up on some invoicing so I'm all up together. I'm contemplating doing my ironing too just to keep on top of it as we all know we mustn't have a full ironing basket on New Years Eve don't we!!

Thanks for the vibes ATB; would love a nap but need to try to keep upright and have an early night instead.

Dancemum I missed the bit about the presents being pinched - that is such a sh***y thing to do. Are you going to iron the shirts etc?

LameWolf I'd forgotten you knit - is it a jumper for you or someone else? I miss knitting but my hands just hurt too much now my typing workload has been increased so sew instead - much faster and pain free!

Right, invoice time .... here we go!

Oh dancemum you must be fuming honey xxx

Valli hugs for today, hope it is all going to plan xxx

    Happy Solstice LW xxx

Shed a few tears this morning for my cousin and his wife. Their baby arrived yesterday just too early for him to survive. Must be doubly hard since our other cousin just had her baby 2 weeks ago. Life is just !!!!!! sometimes...

I've tidied through downstairs except the garage / den. Built gingerbread houses. Cleaned downstairs sink and loo. Kitchen sorted, inc freezer - will do fridge later as shopping due in morning. Going to iron uniform and sort my desk and DD colouring stuff. Supervised kids bedroom tidy time - all ok for dusting and vaccing tomorrow.

Re stockings, I'm not sure why I wrap them, mine never were (actually I had a pillowcase, and everything was in our rooms. My kids have a small stocking in their rooms, half a dozen bits usually £1 or so. They have a choc orange, DD has some lipstick and mini stamps, DS has a whoopee cushion <facepalm> and some fake dog poo <rollseyes>. I've gone light on presents, they have a scooter each (not expensive ones), a couple of toys and some sharing games and walkie-talkies. This was part of the deal of getting Guinea pigs. Oh, each piggie has a chew toy also wrapped in kids stocking to pad it out a bit :o

I'm hoping to get through without any more gifts for me - my brother sent me some prosecco and chocs. I've asked my mum and inlaws not to get me anything. We'll see what happens!

  • Oh Bossy that is just awful news, I am so sorry for your cousin. I will light a candle for baby tonight xx

Lunch eaten, DD dropped off at my friend's, yet more tidying done, loos cleaned and trip to doctors and post office done. DS wants to watch Toy Story now, so I might put my feet up for half an hour x

Thanks everyone. Karma bus must be revving up somewhere.

Kitchen floor mopped including moving table etc
    Conservatory mopped
    Kitchen cupboard doors wiped

Just had a lovely unexpected visit from my aunt and cousin. Probably only the third one since 2000. It is the first Christmas since her husband died.

Ds2 is playing Wii games with his befriender.

I have narrowed down my list of what I want/need to do.

Grocery delivery is due 6-7pm this evening

I'm hoping a parcel arrives today so I can take ds2 out tomorrow.

I have decided to iron ds1' 2 shirts but leave the t shirts as he has lots of ironed ones in his wardrobe.

    Big dehumifiers emptied
  • Hugs to you and all your family bossy. I've got a little angel ornament I keep for my two nieces that sadly couldn't stay with us. I'll light a candle near to that for all the little angels your families included.

House is almost tidy, ironing is up to date. Step mum has just texted to say at some point today they'll be over with ds1s card. Dd2 plus family and dd3 and fiance will all be round for tea and cake later so need to get on with food prep.
I'm half way through s&sing the bathroom so better get on.

    Hugs for all

Bossy so very sorry to hear about your cousin and his wife's baby - so sad.

Fell asleep on the sofa earlier with Whiz draped over me all lovely and snuggly - didn't mean to but it just sort of caught up with me! Will iron tonight for sure.
