Fly cards arrived today, thank you.
Just got in from a trip to town - quite unusual for me as generally I just zip to supermarkets, don't "do shopping". I won't use the word "treat" but I quite enjoyed it. Started off worryingly getting a load of stuff for myself - hair attachments, shoes, reindeer jumper and earrings.........but got most of the (few) other things I needed.
1 load washing done this morning.
1 report checked and emailed.
Zumba done.
This evening is for baking, as my gf free flour doesn't keep too well and I don't do alcohol, the Xmas cake and pudding are my task for this eve. Plus maybe some biscuits.
And more work on another report would be good, there is just 1 more I must finish before Thurs.
Also need to sort out paperwork for tomorrow's assessment.
Need to write out pay claim to take to uni tomorrow.
Won't make any rash promises to do anything else.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Wretched Christmas cards all written and anything not local posted so that it caught the 5.15pm collection. I'd like to sit back and enjoy the achievement but we're out tonight (dinner and a flick) and then I really must start wrapping OH's tree presents. I can't put them under or on it because there's a lot of marzipan and chocolate and it's right next to Kelpie's basket. He's lost nearly 4 kgs so far with at least another to go and there's no way he could resist all that sugar.
Shower room scrubbed within an inch of it's life, too.Better is good enough.0 -
It's the holidays woot
A subdued woot, obvs
Thanks for your good wishes and for caring.
I will do a thread next week but I will either start it Saturday or Monday...because I will be at my sister's for the whole family get together...with a little-sister-shaped hole obvs
I have to make puddings, I will do the traditional trifle, DD will do tiramisu.
Regarding bests - my message is use it and enjoy it. I just know there is unused stuff now, that little sister left.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Wish it wasn't a full working week this week - hard to feel festive when I can't stop until 6pm Friday! Wrapped some presents at the weekend, plan to do another third tomorrow and a third on Christmas Eve, that should be manageable. Or maybe I'll try and get more done tomorrow.0

Between inconsiderate family and clients who send in their accounts today-deadline 31st, but going on holiday on Thursday morning, and expect me to finish them can I just say BAH HUMBUG.
My week has just rearranged itself. I'm now working tomorrow, and apparently because Scottish Ambulance can't organise itself we are adding 80miles to our trip to Aboyne on Friday so some poor sod gets home for Christmas rather than on 28th December.
Actually I don't mind the latter - less time in Aboyne with screaming things:D
LW have a great solstice. And enjoy the days getting longer.

Wow, where did the last week or so go! I never got back in after Tuesday, and as for the tutors who say your assignments should take 10-12 hours why did mine take over 40! I had 2 x 2am finishes amongst several other evening shifts in order to get it done. Hope yours wasn't so bad Ionafan. Anyway it's done and i drove over to hand it in earlier today. Work is all now finished so we're heading full speed for Christmas.
A big thank you to Natty and Valli for keeping the thread going. Tomorrow I will start to work through as tonight I'm doing naff all.
Big hugs to Valli and as the others have said about grief, do what you feel you have to do.
And yes use the crockery, same as wear your best knickers and perfume!
Until tomorrow, have fun xMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Hello,
Reasonably tidy here, downstairs anyway. Kiddies are going to do their rooms tomorrow or Santa will think they don't look after their things. Had to wash DS duvet this morning, and it hasn't dried. So he's in granny's bed tonight (spare room).
I've got the firestick on with a log fire on the tv, lol, it's making me feel quite warm haha.
Going up at 8:30 and will wrap stocking bits for at least one child. There isn't much.
Have got loads of washing done, but it's all bedding, towels, school coats. Clothing is mounting up. So I'll do that tomorrow, plus piggy bits need a wash. I will try get uniform ironed and put away too. Might have a wardrobe sift in the kids room if we have time...
Last black bin day of the year, mine is full but NDN said I can put my last bag in theirs :A

Valli - as others have said, there are no rules; we all react differently and it's early days. Be kind to yourself. Thinking of you all xx
I received my cards today - thank youand thanks Natty for organising :A Oh and Narco, yes, hopefully lemurs
My car went in for MOT and service today and I was expecting to pick it up around 4 only to receive a phone call saying it won't be ready til the morning. Man was very apologetic, but I was supposed to be taking Mum shopping early tomorrow to beat the crowds. Feels like a waste of a day today as I didn't start anything much
Seriously running out of flying time this week - good job nobody is coming here for Christmas!!!
I did, however, give the car a good clear out before I took it in this morning!

Oooh Bossy you have reminded me, I need to put our bin out.
Doobop and FBO I am flat out at work still too. Still at least the week is going quickly!
Food shopping still to do (Thursday), a few stocking fillers to wrap, some cards to post and some presents to deliver but I am reasonably organised. Roll on Friday!0 -
Hello,
Going up at 8:30 and will wrap stocking bits for at least one child. There isn't much.
Oh Bossy, I envy you. I have four to wrap and fill this year. They've cost a small fortune
Had a very enjoyable evening at Chester Zoo with my little ones and DH to marvel at their lantern event. Some amazing animal lanterns and life-sized puppets ranging from dormice to flamingos, reindeer, zebras and bats! It was very cold so I was glad we had ordered a meal which thawed us all out at the end and both boys snoring away within minutes arriving home.
I'm sure I did some flying today - it's just slipped my mind ATM
Valli - big girl pants on tomorrow my lovely. Give your sister a great send off xxx0
