Valli cut yourself a huge chunk of slack, sweetie. Like others have said, there are no rules to grief; you just have to get through each day the best you can, and trust that it will, eventually, not be so raw. Thinking of you, sweetie.
My half pint pyrex jug broke yesterday. On it's own. I'd made the gravy as usual, we were eating our dins, when Mr LW heard a "ping" from the kitchen, and the empty jug, sat on the draining board, had cracked right the way around, near the bottom.
So today saw us traveling to Stony Stratford to replace both that and the kitchen timer, which has given up the ghost after 14 years' service. JL in Central MK wanted £16 for a timer - they can go fish; I got one in the little shop in Stony for £1.99 :money:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Oh well done with the assignment ionafan :T
Productive day here. We have a birthday gift (forgot I needed two), new hidey hut for the piggies, lots of veg, chicken drumsticks for DS - random request for dinner lol, flowers for the new mum plus a cuddle with the tiny one - aww he's just perfect
We've fed the furries, and now having a quiet half hour watching last years CBeebies panto which DD hasn't let us delete off the tv box all this time, bless her. She's yawning already...
I washed towels and I have another load in now, and will do school coats next!
Day at home tomorrow - hoping DS will be getting a lift to his friends party and me and DD can stay home. We might start decorating gingerbread houses...Bossymoo

Phew, I'm bushed. Had a two hour walk in the woods with kidlets and nephews, lots of mud puddles to be enjoyed!
When we got back SiL mentioned she needed to go and do her food shopping, so I suggested she leave her kids with me and do it in relative peace. So she was happy, the kids played nicely together and even tidied away without being asked!
Quiet time now before bath and bed. Yummy steak with roasties for tea. I must do some financials tomorrow, and cancel a direct debit no longer needed.
Have lovely evenings all xxMFW

Hello ladies!
I'm in but flapping wildly. And to add to my stress DH has taken this week off work!! Well, on paper - we still had to call in at the local branch when we were out and about today - you know, just so he could chase something/someone/who the **** cares and retain control over the minions left [STRIKE]unsupervised[/STRIKE] to run amok.
*sigh*
Valli - grief is a personal thing that affects each of us differently. There is no right or wrong about how you feel, and no one-step process that suits all. Just let yourself be. And breathe. Let things wait, because they can. Big hugs xxx0 -
Managed to throw a whole veggie lasagne on the floor instead of putting in the oven which resulted in the floor being covered in smashed bits of my fave cassorole dish and lasagne. Dh clean it all up while I made a quick plan b one for tea. Grrrrrr.
Did most of the extras off today's list but have a bit of catch up flying to do
Hugs to allSPC~12 ot 124

Hugs to all- especially those finding things a bit of a struggle.
I used the small amount of energy I have to get some gardening done today. Hopefully I can finish the tidy up tomorrow and get back to the house.....I want to do a decent declutter and clean downstairs before we put our decorations up.
All cards made and posted now.....I'm starting to regret my plan of making homemade crackers as they are still on the to do list (although I have a back up plan as I am under strict instructions from my family to put my health first and not overdo it!)
I'm finding it really tough to know my health limits when it comes to things like entertaining- I act like running myself into the ground trying to get the house spotless etc is some prerequisite to everyone having a perfect Christmas. Writing it down it is so obvious that it is a silly way to act so I wonder why I do it? Don't worry- rhetorical question :-)2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
Valli, sweetie, huge hugs and please listen to the others on here. Grief is a strange thing so please don't beat yourself up over things that you would normally do. The main thing is to get through the next few days and then you can take some time out for yourself. And you do need to do this, it will help believe me. More huge hugs coming your way xxxMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️
