    Sympathies to you Determined we all had the virus in October. I very fortunately got it the day before OH so he could run the two events I had booked that day, and look after the children. It's truly rotten if you are both out of action. I hope someone can come and help you.

    ziggy I wondered where you'd been. Hope it's a good blur.

    Morning all, I've been awake since about 1.30 and have finally given up trying to get back to sleep. Whenever I have something that I'm worried or nervous about it seems to affect my sleeping patterns :(

    Today's plans
    * I'm expecting to meet a friend for our monthly :coffee: but her little one wasn't well yesterday so not sure that will happen. If it does though, I will use a discounted gift card for the coffee shop that my oh gets via his work and I will have a pot of tea which will keep the cost down. :(postponed until Thursday
    * Check banking/update spreadsheets :)
    * Kids to breakfast clubs for free :)
    * Hand deliver the last of the Christmas cards
    * Take the bag to the cs
    * Kids to swimming after school, won't take purse with me so no chance of using the vending machine
    * Kids having school dinners this week as its Christmas dinners this week, so evening meals are hm soup, salad bits and sandwiches
    * We will have pork loin steaks with some bendy carrots from the fridge, left over mashed potato from Sunday lunch, the last of the cabbage from the freezer and a peppercorn sauce dry mix thing from the use up box
    * Pack clothes etc for our weekend away (this has been on my list since the weekend so really need to get it done today!)
    * Clean kitchen & bathrooms using stardrops and microfibre cloths.
    * Check fpl/luckyphone :) /numberplate :)
    * Daily clicks on inbox£ to get to payout :)
    * Do some sb surveys if any available as not far off a payout :)
    * Claim cashback from cos on dh's acc :)
    * Check loyalty card balances :)
    * Yougov - 2 surveys done :)
    * A pinecone survey :)
    * Dejunk email accounts :)

    Will add more as I go. Have a good day all.

    Morning Campers,
    Busy day planned. My main money-saving task will be to reconcile bank account, etc, to do my mid-month budget check-in. My monthly budgets run from 27th (payday) to 26th, but in December, pay-day is 23rd. Despite salary being in our account earlier, I am not going to use any of it until 27th or it will be a horribly long month till Jan payday. So today I will check in to every budget & do a projection of what we still need to buy (mostly turkey & fresh festive supplies).
    Also today: Dry another load of laundry on heated airer & set washer for another cheap ovrrnight wash, finish my family quiz (cheap fun festive entertainment), knitting & rounding up library books for return. Dinner will be home made pasta sauce from freezer with leftover bacon & 'use it up' veg in it. Going out tonight. Will set a limit for the bar & aim to get free parking.
    Ok, must crack on. Have a good day all.

    Luckylady oh gosh what an early start. Really hope you feel better soon. And get through today alright.

    La E I'm not crafty but my husband was thinking about making pom poms with the kids if we'd had any wool. That might be fun for your tree?

    Foxgloves oh you snuck in whilst I was posting. Good luck with your busy day.

    Morning LL gosh that sounds rough getting up at 1.30! Hope you're not too exhausted later in the day x

    Jeez yesterday was a terrible day! Oh and I took it in turns being up with madam/being in bed resting. I did the morning into lunch, he did afternoon into evening and nd I got up with her around 5.30. Needless to say she had an extremely early night! Poor thing, she didn't get the best adult supervision yesterday. And today while will be better than yesterday, will still be a day confined to the house :(

    So it will be another nsd/no petrol day

    Will see if oh up for getting the Christmas tree down and decorating with madam. Think I'll think up some Christmas themed craft session for madam, maybe salt dough decorations. That should keep her occupied for a couple of hours

    Grabbed a pot of batch made spag bol which I will make into cottage pie using some lo mash - thanks for the inspiration LL!

    No real other plans just recuperate ready for work tomorrow. Had to phone in sick yesterday and I think as I'm in my probation I won't get paid :(

    OK hope you all have a lovely day.

    FYI my dd has come back and said if I can't get and ys turkey chicken will be fine :T

    Morning all again!

    Thanks Bob & Dnms, I'm kind of hoping that I am exhausted later as hopefully then I'll sleep through ;) There's a couple of things bothering me at the moment, one of the things is going somewhere out of my comfort zone on Thursday (my anxiety has kicked in) so at least that's a time limited issue, the other is likely to be a more ongoing issue but hoping that time will heal & the holidays will refuel us all and help that situation.

    Dnms, Its really hard when you are both not 100% and still looking after the little one, hope that she is contented with your plans :) Great news on the chicken/turkey with your dd.

    Its a horrible grey, wet day here and the house is so dark. I hate having to switch lights on in the day time.
    Additional list for today
    * Prep the last of the carrots ready for evening meals - keeping the peelings for stock and leaving 2 carrots to go into the date cake that I still need to make :):):)
    * Make date cake (we are down to 9 1/2 bags of ood dates now from 26 bags I think it was at one point! ;) ) :)
    * Ironing - only do what needs it and hang everything else straight away into the wardrobe
    * Change password on rainforest people tablets that the kids have as my eldest has used my password without me knowing to download an app :mad: :)
    * Take meat out of the freezer for tomorrows meal and update the freezer list in my bullet journal :)
    * Make sure dh puts his expenses in at work so that it will hopefully be paid before we have to pay off the credit card :)

  • Good morning everyone,

    Need to get back aboard the frugal train. My list for today;

    - Exercise
    - Shower at gym
    - Charge phone at work
    - Check banks and YNAB
    - Bring lunch to work
    - Read some of my book

    I think that'll do me for now.

    Have a nice day everyone.
  • 1LuckyLady That was a frustrating start to your day, will you be able to squeeze in a little nap at some point?

    DNMS wishing you both a speedy recovery.

    I saved fuel on Sunday by contacting my sister regarding lifts as she was going to both events, we walked to meet her at the end of a earlier event she and her youngest went to. OH and ds walked to the Advent celebrations and the 4 of us walked back together.

    Yesterday I went shopping with a list which I stuck to and came in under budget. That's all the food up to Wednesday 21st with the exception of fruit and possibly milk. We have also meal planned 22-30th, when our visitors are staying, I need to write the shopping list for this. I plan on shopping for as much of this as possible later this week.

    Today is foggy which makes me feel cold.

    Tidy house=tidy mind
    Keep up to date with confidential waste
    Maintain the 3 email accounts which are upto date
    Un subscribe from any emails which I don't want or are irrelevant
    Spend a focused 15 minutes on dd room

    Today's list
    Turn off lights and appliances not in use
    Take snacks and drinks out with us
    Only spend on HE session (budgeted for)

    That seems a very small list, hopefully I can add more later.
