Does my hairdresser have the right to do this?!

You've obviously also missed my post where I said I didn't notice the mistake right away because the issue is at the back of my head. Selective reading or purposefully obtuse?
The hairdresser didn't even take the payment, he was already working on the next client, and I dealt with the receptionist. I too was in a rush. All of this is totally irrelevant and I don't understand why I have to explain the ins and outs of a ducks !!!! to just to get some constructive feedback
Oh come on - you don't want constructive feedback (think you might mean criticism) - you want everybody to agree with you.0 -
What colour did you ask for and what colour did you get? What colour was your hair before this? SAre you trying to go from dark to light?
I'm just trying to figure out why is has taken so many attempts to get the correct colour. I am a hairdresser with over 15 year experience and never once in my career have I had to deal with a situation like this.0 -
I have to laugh at someone on a Money Saving forum, spending that amount of money for a hairdo.
Then I told my wife, who was completely speechless, then laughed even harder.
That is a ridiculous amount of money. I am not envious of the fact that you obviously have such money to spend on a hairdo, I couldn't care less. (let alone travelling that distance) I just think that you are one more who does not know how the other half lives.

Do you never treat yourself to anything? Always buy the cheapest stuff available?
Must say I'm surprised we've gotten to page 4 - on the consumer rights board - without OP being advised of their consumer rights - and in most cases actually being advised contrary to those rights.
When you pay for a service and that service isn't provided as agreed, you have the right to repeat performance. If after that repeat performance its still not right, then you have a right to a price reduction. If repeat performance is required - it is for the trader to cover the costs involved (and that possibly includes travelling costs since the salon is probably fully aware that OP isn't local anymore).
That is (of course) dependent on the OP's hair not being done properly/not being done according to what was agreed - rather than it being done as agreed and just not liking it. But it seems people have been distracted by the price paid (which actually isn't as outrageous a price as it sounds - even local salons here would charge me more than £100 for a cut, full colour & blow dry, but if I was a guy it would be half the price). You keep using that word. That's a little bit harsh. OP has been advised on what to do next as she doe's not wish for the salon to have another attempt at resolving the issue.0 -

Slightly weird link in your post, at least in terms of relevance to what you have written. Copy and past link error?0 -

Yes been advised on what to do next - but not on what her rights are. You also said the hairdressers are "absolutely in the right" to debit her account - which goes against the OP's right to set off and also ignores that the salon cannot authorise payment from OP's card/account, only the OP can. It is not simply a case of "you owe us money, we have payment details so we're taking it"You keep using that word. Its a case that the salon made an error when refunding the OP. As such they correctly used the visa correction scheme which is nothing like typing in the OP's card details to collect the £100.0 -
