The bank have given me all this information, which I'll use to proceed accordingly :)

Fair enough, as long as you're aware of the repercussions including chargeback and SCC.

They were incredible when I had long hair,

I should hope they were for that price and having to travel all that way!

not so much since I've cut it short (which leaves much less room for error).

Which is a good enough reason to look for a more reasonably priced salon nearer to where you live

I don't know who you bank with but they're talking rubbish. Cut your losses and find a nearer cheaper hairdresser, you're being ripped off big style. There is no way on this earth that a cut and colour costs over £200, i don't care how good the hairdresser is or how posh the salon. It's all a bit "emperors new clothes" really.

I'd just like to point out that I only started going to this salon because I used to live in London, developed a relationship and stuck with them when I moved away.

I never set out to travel 250 miles to a salon just because.

I'm confused though, because on one hand people are saying 'the salon are in the right!' 'they won't want you back as a customer!' and 'luxury salon or not it doesn't matter!'

But on the other hand people are saying that for the price it should be amazing, or that £200 is a bit outrageous for a cut and colour really.

Which is my whole point, I'm paying a bomb so would expect an above and beyond attitude to their customer service. Not complete denial of poor service and taking the money out of my bank without consent.

Perhaps as a small business owner with excellent customer feedback, it's just incomprehensible to me to treat a loyal and returning customer this way, whether I agreed with them or not. I throw in all kinds of freebies and discount codes to my regular customers to thank them for their loyalty, and there's an element of trust that they wouldn't B/S me because we have that relationship (i.e. saying they never received their item)

    They didn't need your consent.

If on your call to the bank you said they took your money with out consent you are not telling the truth.

You gave them consent to take the money out of your account, they then refunded some in error and have merely corrected their error, they in fact took THIER money out of your account, as they are allowed to do.

I've read through this thread and really can't see what the OP is on about. Don't like the service, don't go back. They provided a service for which there was an agreed price. Unhappy with what they did then negotiate properly at the time. If you had an appointment at 6.00 it's cutting it a bit fine (why did I say that?) to have your hair done at 4.00.

Don't think anybody here will believe you if you say your bank reversed the £100. The hairdresser would appear to be quite within his rights call for that payment.

I have extremely short hair - I could get 20 haircuts done for the £200 you paid, and my hairdresser comes to my home. Now THAT'S MSE! In fact I had a compliment today from a complete stranger about how nice my hair looked. For £10 that's quite a result - no fancy salons, train journeys - just a very talented cutter.

Think you might be in the wrong place OP.

But she (well I hope it's a she) will argue that as well because her bank or solicitor told her so :rotfl:

With all due respect LadyDee, it's none of yours -or anyones- business how much I've paid, and to comment how little you pay suggests victim blaming/shaming to me. Had this been a budget cut like yours would you be so quick to point out how wrong I am?

I'm not here to save money, I'm in the CONSUMER RIGHTS section.

ALSO, not that it's any of your business, but 1.15pm was the only appointment they had, which I took with their guarantee I'd be out by 4pm, as this was the latest I could leave. Again, why bring this up? Is that helpful or constructive? Relevant?

@MartinSurrey I didn't call the bank I went into the branch on my lunch and told them everything from both sides, what point is there to lie? So please, refrain from suggesting I am a liar or jumping to conclusions that I might have.

@Powerful_rogue with all due respect your opinion has well and truly been noted. You don't need to repeat yourself it's getting a bit boring now. Of course technically and legally what they did was right, yet it's funny how no-one has responded to my comments about a customer service perspective and my history with the brand.

Your stance, I assume, is as long as no law was broken treat customers however you please? People frown upon tax avoidance yet it's legal. That doesn't mean it's not poor form.

Let's leave it here now, I wasn't expecting a 'helpful' forum to be full or bullies tbh. Next time I need help I'll come crying poverty for the sympathy vote (or I'll just go straight to my lawyer friend ;)
