The fear of doing something outside our comfort zone is always far worse than the reality. We think of every which way it can go wrong , the reality is once you stop thinking and start doing , most of those what if's never happen and things turn out far better than we expected.
    Thank you.

Counselling is his decision, I know it's hard to not "tell" him what he needs though. Do you think you'd benefit from some too at this point ?

Oh yes, yeah, I do understand that part, no point in 'telling' him, he did seem open to the idea when we were talking this morning. We shall see I guess.
I have wondered about doing some myself. No idea where to go or what to talk about though. Where to start so to speak.

    Start with your GP.
NHS usually has waiting lists but they may be able to recommend someone local as you are prepared to pay.

Thanks, will pluck up the courage to do that. My GP's aren't the best though.
  • I think by the time one person in a relationship says they want out, the relationship is often a long time dead.

I'm in the middle of a divorce at the moment, it is hard at times but I don't regret it one bit, the reasons for me wanting a divorce have still happened, speaking to a councillor would not change my mind.

If my wife didn't want to divorce she should have made different choices 18 months ago but made her choice back then.

If you've not approached them about something like this before you won't know. Who knows this might be their one area of excellence !

  • MIND might be worth phoning, they aren't expensive relatively speaking (they have a scale depending on income, I paid £10 a session) and waiting lists are relatively short (depending on area).

Well I plucked up the courage and phoned. Made an appointment for Wed afternoon. Didn't have one for today and my Dr doesn't work tomorrow.
Also phoned to get the exact time of my Lidl phone interview. Also Wed! But morning instead.
Filling out a few applications. Although my head is nearly exploding trying to fill in all the details. Having to adapt to each one isn't easy! Luckily my sis is good with this type of stuff and given me a lot of help on this subject.
  • Try the major job sites too - Reed and Indeed are my favourites. Upload a CV, and it means you don't have to fill in dozens of applications :) good luck!
