  • £1300 saved for April. It was quite an expensive month wth a flight and weekend away, £200 to get a couple of pictures framed and my goddaughter's 21st, but offset by a (rare) bit of paid overtime and a magnificent 20 quid pay rise:D

A third of the way to our targets already, well done everyone!

  • Evening everyone - newbie here!

Just a few questions, what does everybody to for extra income / savings? I'll be putting wages aside, selling a few things on eBay and I've signed up to quite a few survey sites to see how that goes. What does everyone else do?
  • Hello
Reporting a measly £600 this month, on account of my (shocking) credit card bill.
Never mind, onwards and upwards, good luck with all the saving and enjoy the tail end of April.:T

I've added £919.90 in April, and not quite happy with that. It should have been at least £1,200 what with £200 reward coming in from opening a new account. We had rather a spendy month, and May is not shaping up much better :o

I've got £9,633 to raise from the remaining 8 months, so £1,204 per month and that includes Christmas!! Time to put some of our clutter on eBay, make lunches from scratch and shop smarter!
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

I save extra by spending less - over five years I have taken our housekeeping down to less than a third of what I was spending. There are lots of top tips for planning and spending less over there (and they are lovely helpful, supportive posters too)

  • It's been a difficult month, with easter and lots of birthdays, plus me spending too much on booze - oh well, onwards and upwards to May. Saved £500, bringing my total up to £1,400 #132
