Happy Easter everyone
Thanks SF for updating - the spreadsheet is having some good % colours on it now :T. Well done to all on your savings!
Half way through month, saved £850 at the mo. Might be able to go over 1k if wages/bills allow. Got quite few trips to hospital at the end of this month (DH needs heart surgery) so need to put some money aside for the extra Diesel and childcare for our two young kids etc. Joys!
DH & I have signed up for extra work over next 3 months so will increase our wages quite a bit - all will help!
Good luck to all! xx
What a difference a week makes! We brought a new TV for our living room (beautiful 55" Samsung - our last one was 7 years old so did us well). That was £430 (managed to get some discount!). Didnt expect to spend this quite yet so my figure this month is down quite a bit.
Ill declare April now SF as nothing will change for rest of month.
#73 April = £200.
Push on for May nowxx

I fear that I might need to duck out of the 2017 challenge
We recently secured a new mortgage deal and after lengthy discussions and debates over the relative merits of how to put our money to best use we are going to focus on overpaying the mortgage instead. We have an incredible interest rate of 1.19% so really have a golden opportunity to pay down the debt.
On the plus side, we've finally made our final big purchase for the flat (a sofa) and got all the decorating done, so financially we should be on a firmer footing now.
I will do a calculation at end of month to see whether I might be able to do the 12k as well, but it's not looking promising....
Cheers!#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET

I still haven't managed to save anything in April so pleased that overall I was slightly ahead of target. Will try to make it up to £4k when I get paid at the end of the month, but I've had the unexpected cost of having to buy a new to me car because of changes on the job front.Spend less now, work less later.0

Hi
#85 reporting nothing. We didn't put anything away in March due to vet bills for what was basically a melodramatic dog with an itchy foot! An insurance claim has gone in for the treatment so we should get a chunk of it back so hopefully my April total will make up for it somewhat.Mortgage £126746 DEC14 £122423.53 DEC15 £115041.70 DEC16 Remortgaged Sep17 to pay off HtB loan £150000 - £140500 JUL19 Moved house Oct19 £230000 £230400 DEC200 -
