Hi all ,
Sorry I haven't posted since August! We bought our very first home and it has been a bit crazy and COSTFUL! Not sure If I'll be on track for my 15k in 2017 plan but don't mind as buying a home was what we've been aiming for!
So, since I last updated in August I haven't really been able to contribute anything.
My full savings pot in November is 53,375.46- which was less than I had in August.
So nothing to report, savings this year stand at £5,555.54 Fallen quite a bit short of my 15k goal but have a lovely new home which is more importantSaving Total 1st Jan 2017: £47,819.92 | 23rd Jan 2017: £49,611.38 | 28th Feb: £50,461.97 | March 2017 : £51,786.13 | April 2017: £53,251.52| May 2017: £54,219.71 | June 2017: £55,857.73 | Nov 2017: 53,375.46 Savings Goal: £100k:j £46,624.54 To go!0 -

Figures are a bit messy because Ive been mega busy after having just started a new job in London and moved from Southampton to London.
After only a week of living in London its really urging me on to save to buy my own place, in Southampton rent wasn't as high so it was more manageable. Unfortunately (or maybe not so) I need to complete my probation period at work before I can get a mortgage on my new salary, which is expected to end April/May 2018.
HTB ISA - £200
P2P - £1,016
Total - £1,216
I've now saved over £11,000 this year and reached 92% of my £12k target!!

Just submitted my update for November. I need to keep £500 back to pay off the CC in full at the start of December - it is almost £2000 so I needed to sub it a bit (may have to move some back too). In the meantime we are looking at just over £800 instead of £1300 and my total target for 2017 is looking a bit precarious nowSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

#46 checking in for November (and form updated).
First full month of new salary and £1277 saved.
My total for the year now stands at £11,710 so just £290 to go in December to hit my target. Should smash that even with Christmas to deal with and visiting the family abroad.
I am amazed what has been possible with the support of the thread and a good bit of luck along the way this year. Now need to start thinking ahead to next year. Will have to raise the bar again, but what to?
Some great saving achievements on the speadsheet! Although if you're doing it next year Slowlyfading, could I maybe not be underneath Boglehead? Inspiring and demoralising at the same time, that row!Save 12K in 2018 #20 - £20,890/£18,000 (116%) November £1950

Morning all. £1306.81 saved during November which means I've already exceeded my target for the year. However some of it is coming out to part fund wedding during December which will bring my savings down to £11306.81 so I need to save another £693.19 during December (doable) to have £12k in the bank at the end of the year.Spend less now, work less later.0

The November figures are in and I have saved £1,353.74 this month, just edging past my mini target of £1,350. This puts me at £11,385.86 for the year to date and so just £614.14 from my £12k target. So close!! And this is net of a bunch of house buying expenses and the bulk of my Christmas shopping, as well as some gig tickets for next year and a stay at a fancy hotel in London just before Christmas.
The house buying process is going badly again (why can I only find houses with physical or legal issues??) but my strong financial grounding - largely thanks to this site, this thread and YNAB - is making me feel far better about the whole thing. At least if I'm not making it to exchange on any of these properties I'm at least bettering my position ready for the next house to come onto the market.
Happy advent all, and stay warm!!0 -
November payday update!
I saved £761 in November. That's £11,352 so far in 2017 and £120,474 overall.
I've finally broken the £120k barrier!!!
And I'm on track to meet my savings target for the year
