Oh, your poor partner! It's horrifying when you hear/read something like this. I just don't understand how people can be this way, and yet see no wrong in it!

For me, I feel in a better position than I was. My stepson is standing up for himself, and he can see what's going on. He's laid a few laws down himself, and I think he will have the strength to walk away, if he needs to. Part of me still thinks of him as a little boy, and I think I will always be overprotective to a degree, because of the life he had - but it was a strong man that was sat opposite me last night.

I have a 24 year old son and if I saw his girlfriend do something like that I'd be taking her to one side and telling her fortune.
