Thank you, Calling. Am trying to look at it in a positive
light. It can all be fixed and nobody's hurt. Could be worse. Have a good time with the wee ones.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Toni's friend that's rotten to come home to such a mess after a lovely holiday, but hope you have a good birthday tomorrow.
Fmess - That's awful about the murder Things must really be nerve wracking for everyone. I do hope it settles down in your village and things return to normal.
I decided to order my Christmas food online late last night rather than braving the Xmas supermarket panic today. Managed to get a slot for this evening and only two things on my list that Tesco!s didn't have. I'll get those tomorrow. Also got a brand matching rebate of £5.87 on the order.
Chilly, foggy and wet today in Seasideville. Went out this morning and had my monthly pedicure. Nice Christmassy red nails!
So a spend day today!Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

What a pain, Tonisfriend
But happy birthday wishes for tomorrow
I heard about the road chaos Fmess - one of my friends was caught up in it. Hadn't heard why though - sad news
Was DS2's last Primary Xmas performance. SOme other mums wept. I didn't even sniffle - haven't when any of my children started/ left schools/ nurseries (ooh - not quite - was a bit teary when I took DD out of nursery when I was heavily pregnant with DS1 - but nursery was next to work (30+ miles away) so not convenient...)
I've been attending the children's primary as a parent since 2002 in a continuous stint - and DS3 is only in Y3, so I still have a while!
Spending has happened every day so far - we went out last night for a Xmas party - spent less than £30, not including fuel. Today's spends were on a real Xmas tree and 12 more baublesTomorrow may require a small food shop (fruit, veg, milk, cereals, binbags and a few storecupboard items) - last one before Xmas should then hopefully be Weds (fruit, veg & milk)

I was mulling over the 'pared back Christmas' approach in the apple house last night. I think we have managed it. Money is extreeeeemely tight this year, and the majority of presents for dh's big kids have come from what we already had in. I spent just £4.20 on work colleagues, the rest of their gifts were hand made. Dd made bracelets for her friends and I've added in hanging felt initials too. 2 trays of brownies have yielded up 6 slabs of brownie, wrapped in cling film and laid on a wrapping-paper-covered piece of cardboard from a box, which look gorgeous. (Said wrapping paper having been rescued from a neighbour's bin - 3 1/2 rolls of really nice stuff!) A couple of small kilner jars have been filled with hm biscuits or snowballs (peppermint creams rolled into balls). Dd's presents have been bought over recent months and are a mixture of new and second-hand. Both dh and I have supplied our own presents, so we'll be getting what we want/need. In fact, the most money has gone on my big sister and her family, and given the recent situation, they totally deserve every penny of it.
So, enough apple witterings on a Sunday morning!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Fmess - how awful, this time of year so often seems to see a domestic situation like that.
apple - well done on all your inventive gifts. How do you feel about buying for work colleagues? Do you feel it is the done thing so you go along with it or are you happy to do it?
Yesterday was spendy, just a few pounds here and there initially topping up my points and voucher spends on food. Then I wanted to order a hair product (I have natural curls and have found my saviour product) but needed to spend a tad more to get free postage, DH needed something so I added that on then added 3 more things for me - ended up spending £61.85. The item I wanted was £14.50:eek:.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi everyone - I'm just checking in quickly to gloat that I survived until the end of term and am now officially on holiday. I spent most of yesterday asleep and recovering from a very long and difficult term at work. All change in the New Year with a new Head Teacher... we'll see what happens then I suppose.
I'm all done with shopping and ready for the Christmas to begin. My only Christmas night out is tonight so I'm looking forward to that as well.
Lost count of my nsd's but I don't think I've had many more since I last checked... I'm off to catch up on what everyone has been up to.Not giving up
