NST: December 2016: A pared back Christmas

Hi All
Feels like days since I've done a proper update. I'm very busy with work at the moment and will be right up to xmas eve. But after that have a really long down period with no work booked until well into Jan. So I'm all about the money and trying to avoid the fact I feel really rubbish with a cold.
Tommorow we have been invited for an early Christmas lunch with friends and I am really looking forward to it.
I can't believe it's been a year since I ran ' Bobs Post Bauble NST challenge' where does time go!
Jan should be a good month for me. Have got a new current account being opened with First Direct (joint) that should tidy us up a lot. Plus better CS and a free £100 to switch. We are planning to go overdraft less. Eek. But it goes to show how far we've come because to me now an overdraft is just a trap.
I also have a new business account being opened with 25 months free banking which will save me loads. At least £20 per month. So it really will feel like a fresh start in Jan." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Today was NSD no.8, tomorrow won't be as I have my horse riding lesson, Sunday should've been but our new neighbours invited us to the pub so we're going to be sociable and go to that. Maybe I can make OH pay hehe...
Hope everyone is well and ready for the weekend.0 -
No NSD today as donated £2 to Save the Children which was our work charity for Xmas Jumper day. Also donated £10 to Help the Aged - my preferred Turtles charity for December.
Bought my monthly Boots toiletries/make up at lunchtime. With offers discounted cost came to £33.86 though it was a no spend as the recent Amex Cashback covered it. :j
I've been having a look at the rest of the month and hopefully I will just hit my target of 15 NSDs. Tomorrow though I'm out Xmas food shopping and monthly pedicure! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Sorry for no check in yesterday - I slept. Read about 3 pages of a book and never turned the laptop on. Woke around 1.30am this morning but dozed in hour long chunks since. Feeling very mellow but hoping to get some of the house sorted today. I am going to aim for getting 15 minutes work done in every hour.
For yesterday I am grateful for sleeping well, for having food that is easy to prepare (need to start an essentials shopping list for later in the week, probably Thursday) and for satisfaction in my (unpaid) work - one of the baby soft play cubes still has to be delivered and it looks really good. i think I was too close to 'see' it whilst i was still making it.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Bob - I felt quite sad about it being DS's last carol concert at primary school, I always feel emotional when very young children sing and when they sing Away in a Manger I can barely keep the tears back - it is a pain being an emotional person. They stay at primary such a long time now and with DD being just 2 years older I have been going to that school for so many years, you know all the faces and lots of names and then at secondary school you know pretty much no-one.
DD won her race in the swimming gala, she did no lessons at all in the end so she thought that was a good day.
Me and DH are going cycling this morning then we are going to spend out nectar points on Christmas food. I also need to buy multivitamins so will nip into town too.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Back from my lovely relaxing holiday in Keswick. Just as well it was relaxing as I have returned to chaos. Apparently we have a slow leak in the hall which has probably been going on for months behind the walls and has resulted in quite major damage. I'll have to phone the council on Monday and try to get them to look into it. Probably won't happen any time soon. In addition there was a blockage under the sink which flooded the kitchen when my son tried to do some washing (a miricale in itself). He managed to clear up the flood but I've come back to a mountain of washing and washing up. I've cleared the blockage (how can people who are so clever be so hopeless when it comes to practical things – I live with two of them). Oh and the standard lamp in the living room blew up.
Got a lot of things to sort out tomorrow (which is my birthday) but at least I didn't spend any money today.
Happy week-end everyone,Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Evening everyone,
A quick wee summary of my last few days. Spent money on Thu (at Greggs) and today (takeaway, Christmas wrapping paper/gift bags and a couple more presents for the nephews/niece). Friday was a NSD though, my fourth of the month. I ordered a £5 paypal voucher from Swagbucks today and will pay that off my debt when it arrives.VSPC 2019 #10 - £168.80/£100 VSPC 2020 #4 - £262.03/£200 VSPC 2021 #9 - £242.88/£200 VSPC 2022 #3 - £188.03/£200 VSPC 2023 #7 - £0/£2000 -
Toni's friend-oh poor you just what do you don't need before xmas. Happy Birthday for tomorrow.
Today went for a long walk, lovely day not sure how far walked but was out for 2 1/2hrs. Treated to cake and a coffee after so bagged a SFD.:T
Had my heating on fair bit tonight, cold and needed to dry clothes.
Dyed my hair this morning used up one had for ages, it looks good now shiny with auburn tinge, however think after a wash or two my roots will look red - so will have to buy another dye to have at the ready.
Work has drained me this week been busiest ever been. Just got no energy now, early night. Not sure whether to do food shop in the am or leave it few days. Would like to just spend bit time with grandkids.

Evening all
Spendy day here. I was in the supermarket for 7.30am and got the food bits I need to seee through until Wednesday, when I'll be off work and go buy my food contribution to Christmas dinner (I'm on desserts this year).
Did lots of dog walking today but one now has a limp, poor thing. Think he over excreted himself.
There is an odd feeling in my village today. Some of you may have seen/heard/been caught in the chaos on the roads in the East Midlands last night? It was all linked to a murder and attempted murder in my villageThen the person who the news suggests was the murderer, jumped off a bridge onto the motorway. It's so sad
There is now a police presence patrolling the streets which is odd because I've barely seen a police officer here in 8 years and if the whole thing was a domestic issue, surely there's no increased threat to anyone else? Maybe it's just for reassurance but it just makes the place feel more unsettled to me.
