    Hi Guys

Happy to report another 0.5lb loss this week. That makes 7 lb so far, so now got to lose 2lb to first target.

Didn't do as well as I hoped but we did have a Wimpy the night before weigh in. I am determined to get to goal by Christmas, thats 7lb from now, and then I will be back to what got to this time last year, before I got pregnant.

I now weigh less holding my baby (who weighs 14lb ish), than I did when I was married 5 years ago and when I first got pregnant with first two girls!

    Have a good week.

    WELL DONE JEN:j :j

The insurance halifax travel have just rang me, I lost my wedding, engagement and a replacement eternity ring that I got for xmas 2006 in the sea in Spain, had all the relevant paper work, went to the guardia civil in Spain, all the docs they needed I had, waited a month and now they tell me that on page 31 it says they only cover wedding rings so the WR was £50 which I have to pay excess, so nothing there, the eternity ring was £235 and is not covered from xmas 2006 even though the receipt is there but as a good-will gesture they will cover my engagement ring which was £164 so they are going to pay £140 - the £50 so I get £90 to go back to the jewellers and laughed out of the shop:mad:

I have done nothing but cry since they told me but have to get to work so will get over it:D insurance companies eh?

  • how devastating Victory. I hope your day improves from here on in. Seren, are you coming in the naughty corner too?

well last night's JO recipe was fine in terms of sw but it was more of a faff thatn it was worth. At 1930 last night I was trying to peel cooked beetroot wearing my gardening gloves to try and avoid ending up with bright pink hands. It all tasted nice enough but it was far too much effort.

Sorry to hear that Victory, sentimental things are always the worst thing to lose. As for insurance companies, I've yet to find any tpe of policy that doesn't have some get out clause for the very thing I've had nicked etc!

Sending you a big smile :D

Oh victory, my heart goes out to you. I am surprised the rings aren't covered under personal possessions? I was really upset when I was on tour in Weymouth in May and my Claddagh ring went missing, I gave it to someone to look after while I played, he dropped it in the clubhouse and no one could find it. The value of it was low, but my gran gave it to me for my 21st, I rung MrsSuggs in tears!! Oddly enough it was found the following morning in a kebab in someones elses room! (I have my suspicsions) Suffice to say this weekend, when I go to Skegness to play rugby the ring and my watch are staying home.

I know it doesn't help, but the thing MrsSuggs said when I called her, was that it didnt matter and she would take me back to Ireland to buy a new one, so perhaps MrV could take pleasure in escorting you to the jewellers? I know its not the same, nothing replaces the original, but it does give an oppertunity to share a new experience?

    Morning all

Trust we are all well, well done to Jen on your loss, I guess serendisglair had a bad (or good) day yesterday :)

Thanks to all of you on your responses to my frustrated post :) I do appreciate it all, BrightonBelle you didnt make light of me, I am struggling to be honest, I guess part of me wants to stop, part of me is tempted to not give up, more for the worry of the slippery slope more than anything. So I do have to trust myself and eat some more. I have tried to drop the gym sessions by 10%, but oddly that meant I lost 2lb in that week. So losing a 1lb a week is a step in a right direction. So like victory, Ajax, brighton, bails, lois have all said, I know I need to strike a balance, I know I need to be brave :) I just need to keep trying :)

I have come too far to !!!!!! it up now :)

    Thank you one and all

  • Morning all, happy to report 1/2 lb loss this week - much more than I deserve!!

Am also after some help and inspiration if possible?! I've got some friends coming for dinner on Saturday, and while I have main and pudding sorted, I'm at a loss what to do for a starter!! 3 are really fussy (including DH hehe) and so I can't do anything fish based, no soup, no mushrooms, peppers or tomatoes. Do any of you lovely peeps have some ideas for me? I'm pulling my hair out!!!!

What about bruchetta? or whatever it is with the toasted bread and then put parma ham on top?

Tricky one coz most things are either fish or tomato based!

Or what about something like this? http://www.globalgourmet.com/food/special/2000/yan/packet.html;)

    Melon balls with parma ham?
bruschetta (cheesy if toms are out)
Thinly slice chargrilled chicken served with a thai sweet chilil dip?
roll out a bit of filo pastry and bake with a little cheese in the middle?
