welcome pp:D
Seen as no one answered my WW scales questions and cannot get it to work, it is going back to Argos tomorrow, I mean I have put 7 lb on since testing it, it is def not accurate:rotfl: :rotfl: boots here we come again tomorrow:D0 -
Hi everyone!!
Just wanted to post my loss this week ....4 1/2 lbs :j
I'm so pleased after last weeks gain
Takes my total loss to 10 lbs... yippeee!!!0 -
I am so impressed reading the posts on this forum, and they've encouraged me to join in and try (again!) to lose some weight. I've become so good at not looking at just how fat I've got, but it's no good, it has to go - and there's an awful lot of it!! I don't want to go back to Slimming World classes as they're more than I can afford every week, but the diet is the one that worked best for me. I need to lose about 100lbs :-(
My trouble is I get bored in the evenings, and start picking at stuff - I know it's nothing to do with the food itself, but more to do with how I feel but that's about as far as I can get - before I eat something!!0 -
Welcome Pumpkinpie and Charley Farley, great names!:hello: Everyone is lovely and dead supportive here so log on as often as you can and there'll usually be someone along soon to answer any questions or give you a kick up the bum:D
Charley Farley, is there anything you can do in the evenings to keep you out of the kitchen? I have the same problem, that's why I've just logged on! Someone suggested cross stitch or knitting etc to keep your hands busy if that's something you might enjoy, or taking yourself out for a walk? The main thing is not to have the stuff in the house in the first place so that you're not so tempted - if you have to go to the shop, especially in the cold weather coming up, you might decide against it!
Well done 1969, that's a great result!
Sorry Victory, no idea about the scales so couldn't help - the instructions didn't shed any light on it by any small miracle? They're normally more complicated than working it out on your own!
Grannynise, you always have me in stitches, your schoolkids must love your sense of humour! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

I think this is a good idea BUT if someone has already wrapped a parcel for me PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ignore this if it doesn't fit in with your own ideas. And by the way, I've done my shopping already.
Fave food: Brussel sprouts! Crunchy things.
Fave colour: blue
Fave place: My bed
hobbies: I read a lot.
We go on holiday quite often (Sorry, I know that's a sore point with some people but there have to be some pretty big benefits to being a headteacher. I'm having a sh!tty time at school at the moment and the thought of a few days in Florence next week are keeping me going - just)
Reading posts on MSE!
Watching old Time Teams so that I can admire Stewart
Fiddling about with photographs that I've taken
Fave smell: Cedar, wet pavemnts, pine, citrus -- almost anything excpet for vanilla and rose
Things I love: Grown up daughter and two year old grandaughter, other members of my family from time to time
Well I shouldn't think that's helped anybody but I enjoyed doing it.0 -

Charley I'm doing SW without the classes. I lost quite a lot with it a few years ago but in the end the tedium of hearing the same thing every week at the class drove me away. Then I put all the weight back on, and more.
If you still have all the SW information you'll be fine.
As far as the evening eating goes, I think it's a downfall for many of us. Do you pick away whilst you're waiting for dinner time or do you eat on and off after your meal?
I just can't have tempting things in the house at all as I have very little won't power. After dinner you could try cleaning your teeth and/or drinking plenty of water. If I'm on my own I go to bed with a book, as far away from the kitchen and food as I can be. Maybe you could eat earlier so that you're not hungry?
There are really super people on this thread who will give you much better advice than I can.0 -
Well.....only a 1/2 lb loss for me this week, after no loss last week....must try harder! Was hoping for more after all the extra activity (walked 6 miles, swam 40 lengths and did 45mins of punishing aquaerobics!)
Also cut out snacking and cakes lol. Maybe next week willbe better.

OH MY GOODNESS, I've just watched a bit of Nigella Express as people had mentioned it on here - it was all about comfort food... Anyone who watched it must promise never, ever to make any of those recipes!! They made my hair do this  :rotfl:
I've just come up for a bath, to find my cat asleep in it! Don't ask, I have no idea...:D Off for a soak before I munch my way through the entire kitchen (where IS that TOTM??)The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Don't forget the 'muscle weighs more than fat' issue so keep at it this week and I'm sure you'll see even better results next week. All that exercise will definitely be doing you good! The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
