Welcome pumpkin pie you'll get loads of great support here.
If you're calorie counting there's a link on the first post to a great calorie counting website. We also have 2 challenges running. The first is the 2lb club and the second is the monthly 5lb challenge. We sometimes find that we can't lose 2lbs per week for whatever reason and use the monthly challenge to give ourselves a medium term weightloss goal (if you think about it, 5lb loss per month equals to 60 lbs in a year!).
PM or post and efrieze will add you onto the chart. After that, stick to your plan and remember to keep up with us if you're finding it tough. There's almost always someone here who can give you advice.

bails and brighton belle - thanks for the support. I'm feeling a lot more accepting about the whole thing now. I think if the lunch provided had been better, it would have been less of a rip off. The people organising it were trained teachers in Diana Cooper's angels and ascension school and should know that anyone practising Angel Therapy is encouraged to keep their bodies "pure" (as in no junk food). The lunch that was provided yesterday was complete rubbish. (I'd have been happy with vegetable soup and a roll! so it's not like I'm THAT fussy).
If you want to know more about Angels, I'm happy to tell you what little I know but I don't like forcing it on anyone. I've had 2 personal experiences with Angels in my past. I found that yesterday had too much singing (pop songs adapted for Angels - like Abba's "thank you for the [STRIKE]music [/STRIKE] Angels" and not enough meditation. There was one talk about negativity and it's impact on water that I found very interesting so I'm trying not to be too negative (since we're made up of 70% water ourselves).
As for my OH, we're not really fighting about my LB. I just didn't want him to ask for the money, I wanted to let it go cos I knew my Mum would get involved and I was mad about that. My OH is suffering from depression and has been off work since August. He's hoping to go back to work at the end of this current sick line (2 weeks time). but won't be back up to his full salary until November. It's been a struggle for the last few months, I have to admit and part of the reason why I was so disappointed in yesterday was because I could have thought of better ways to treat myself for £40 - we didn't even have dinner or a night out together for our wedding anniversary or my birthday cos we were so skint.
Again, thanks for listening - and I have taken your advice on board. Sometimes I wonder what I would do without you guys.
BTW Petrichor I was kind of looking forward to a poem, but never mind, Maybe next year.Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -

Hey Delly! Not that I'd want for a moment to presume to take Petrichor's place ... but I did write you a poem, even if it was a day late and it wasn't very good. I think it had 6 lines. Didn't you like it?
(sobs quietly in the corner)
PS sorry that family are upsetting you. I work on the principle of ignoring the arguments and hoping they'll all go away eventually.0 -
I've come out of my sobbing corner.:j Never like to stay there too long in case it gets damp.
I wanted to say thank you :T :T to everyone who has been posting their weekly menus. So many good ideas, it will revitalise my next meal plans.0 -
Hi all
Just wanted to thank everyone again for the support and advice recieved regarding my last post. had a week off of dieting and only pu on 1lb which is fairly good considering what i ate, allthough if anyone could tell me how many points 1/2 a stollen loaf comes out at that would be fab :-) did do some excercise but kep it to a minimum as dont wanna upset the doctor. Delly i am soo sorry that you did not have the birthday that you wanted and a poke in the ear for the ones running the ungreat angels day.
take care all

- yes, I did see your lovely poem. All 6 lines of it. I've just been a bit of ain the past couple of days. (by the way, for all of those who are too young to remember sesame street - that's Oscar the grouch!).
Just a little message for you all:Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
You've got a good excuse to be a grouch, Delly. Just wanted to make you smile.
Vickyj there are NO POINTS in half a stollen as they will have all leaked out through the cut edge. Now just how fab is that?0 -
vickyj - I don't suppose you'd have the calories and saturated fat per portion/ 100g available for the stollen cake?
I've looked up a recipie online and it was 4.5 points per portion. Tesco Stollen is 1.5 points per 1oz serving. Maybe you can work it out from there?Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0 -
grannynise - you're allowed to make me smile, but not to make me laugh - It still hurts.
Oh - and as for ignoring the argument, it's pretty difficult to do that when you're one of the people who kind of started it. (just didn't expect to get my mum involved).Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.0
