hi everyone!

i've been away for a long time, starting a new job turned out to be really time consuming!!
Also, diet really went tits up what with working next to starbucks, pret etc.
But i'm getting back on track now, sticking to a plan and trying hard.

I have a knee injury which is annoying, as i got one of those steppers but cant use it :(
Anyway, i thought that even though i'm doing ok on my own, the final kick up the bum should come from you lot, tried and tested i'm sure it'll help like always.

I see a few names around here that i still recognise, so hi guys, and hi to all the newbies!

Sorry i was away for so long, feel like i let myself down, but i'm looking forward to being around here a little more often (ah...i missed you guys!!)

Hope you're all doing really well with your targets

•
Hi everyone I have been 'on hold' for about 4 months due to illness and have managed to put on 21 pounds! I am alot better now and really need to lose the weight. Would it be ok to re-join? :o I am going to start dieting tomorrow and I am planning to do weight watchers as I still have the books but not sure if I want to join a ww group yet. I don't recognise many of the names and not sure who i need to ask?
Hi freebie: of course you are very welcome (back) :D . YOu don't need to ask anyone, just keep posting and joining in. If you want to join our monthly 5lb challenge, just say so in a post: efrieze is doing the chart at the moment, while dellybelly is recovering fom an op,(see page 1)
Glad to hear you have recovered from your illness. Many here do ww and use this group as their support rather than paying to go to a group, but it depend on what works best for you. What will help keep you focussed? I do sw and need the meeting weigh ins myself but also find the warm support here invaluable and irreplaceable.
Good luck with your start tomorrow: remember - menu planning is the key to sucess and plan food you really enjoy eating.

Hey, welcome back katmad: life happens eh? But you've not really let yourself down coz you've got yourself back on track AND come back for another crack at it with us. Much more fun than doing it on your own. Just keep posting now your here again.

Hi Freebiehunter, welcome back! You don't need to ask anyone, of course you're welcome! I'm sure there are a few people still here you'll recognise?

It's Efrieze who's doing the weekly chart at the mo so you just need to ask her to add you to the list (or if she sees this it'll be done already!)

As for joining a group, lots of us are going it alone and using the thread as a support so you could give that a try and save yourself some money!

Good luck with it all, glad to hear you're feeling better.

And welcome back to Katmad99 too! I'll be one of the newbies since you were last on; the group is still as great as it was when you were here before!

Hi all, welcome to all newbies.

Just skimmed through some of the posts to catch up and would like to agree with what petrichor said about lack of carbs in diets.

I went on a diary free and wheat free diet some years back. I ended up really down. Not just because others were eating garlic bread and I couldn't - it was more than that and I couldn't quite place it. After some weeks I realised it wasn't good for me to carry on like this, so I started eating wheat again - just healthy brown bread etc - the difference was huge for me.

I will never ever cut wheat out of my diet again as personally, the expected health benefits were smothered by the overall feeling of being down and gloomy. (Didn't help that I only seemed to lose weight from the waist upwards and nothing from the bum and hips area).

• Welcome emmalis. I suffer from PCOS too but have found WW works really well. Ive been doing it myself at home, no classes and have lost almost 8 stone since Jan. Id really recommend it. Im also another veggie hater lol Ive recently started making soup (0 points, so it has to be good ;) ) and whisk it up in my bullet blender once its done, its absolutely gorgeous and it doesnt 'feel' like veggies (youd think I was about 6 wouldnt you lol)

Good luck with whatever you decide to follow :)

Happy to report a 2.5 lb loss this week. :j I stuck mainly to red this week, will try green for a part of this week and go to red on the weekend. I do find I am less hungry on green!

Good luck to one and all
