@KnightRider: perhaps you should stop trying. Just go out and enjoy your life. Love will happen, sooner or later :)

I do enjoy my life! :-) I'm not waiting on doing things because there isn't a special someone there but there are occasions when I see or do something and I think how the only thing that would have made it even better would have been someone to share that with.

I don't think there's any harm in being pro-active - I've never had the same luck with this sort of thing as I seem to have with other stuff in my life. It would be nice to meet a great person by a happy accident but I'm not going to sit around and wait for that. If it happens - great! If it doesn't - I'm still going to try and make my own luck! :-)

I am in a similar situation, financially very secure with the ability to travel and enjoy life, however would be nice to have someone to enjoy life with. Sadly I have been very unlucky in love but it won't stop me doing things I enjoy.
The only difference is I have knocked all the pro active dating stuff on the head and would rather do activities that may lead to meeting someone
This time of year isn't great for us single guys/gals, all the adverts are geared around the happy families and you wished your christmas cards had more than one name therein.

I don't really pay much attention to adverts any more (does anyone?) but being single shouldn't stop you enjoying Christmas! :-)

I've been surprisingly busy with Christmas this year - I ended up going on several present quests to find the right presents for family and friends. I'm quite fussy when it comes to buying presents and cards - it has to be the right thing for the right person. So I probably end up spending far more time on finding things than I should but that's part of the fun for me (I know that's odd!).
  • Ha! Turns out there was someone right there the whole time! I just assumed she wasn't interested. D'oh! At least I realised in the end though! :-D
