Has your loan arrived?

Options
Has anyone got their loan yet? My son filled in all the forms and submitted them on time. Local authority knows when term starts. They know these young people could be left stranded without money. Why have they not paid them on time?

Is he a first year? He wont get it until after he has enrolled, last year it took 2 weeks for me to get mine.

It gives them time to check that they are actually attending the course.

When did he enroll? And what was he date on the schedule letter?

He has some sort of induction session for his course today. Is that the enrolment? I hope it doesn't take two weeks to come. It said 17th Sept on the info we received from loan people. We were prepared for this so he is not stranded as such but others might be. Two weeks is a long time if you have no money.

They need time to prove he is actually attending the course.

Well enrollment is when he is told to take his schedule letter to the uni and has his photos taken and signs a few forms. He would have been told about this as everyone has to do it.

    They have to register first.

Most forst year students won't get the loan until early october.

This schedule letter posed a problem. We did not have it and so we had to pay accommodation on credit card. That is why I am anxious about the loan coming through to pay credit card.

I know we must appear stupid but I have seen this but cannot find it. Would it have arrived via email or the loan website or would it have come in the post. Unfortunately I left the paper work to my son and husband!

The SLC has mucked up big time on sending the payment schedules out so it could be that you haven't received it yet. I haven't got mine and lots of people on The Student Room haven't either.
  • I haven't got my payment schedule either, will this effect our loan going into the bank as I've already enrolled at university.
