  • Morning frugal pals :hello:

Fresh here this morning ;) but will put a blanket on my legs if I needs as WFH rather than heating on. Made an amazing fakeaway sweet and sour pork last night, definitely added to our list. Also used half a tin of pineapple that was in use up box. Today will look like:

Find recipe for other half of pineapple tin
    Check banking, surveys and FPL
Meals from stores, roast lamb curry I think for tea
Local fair in town, probably take smalls later for half an hour (with a limited budget) Not my thing personally, but they always enjoy it
Paid off 4 items on CC from various pots that I had used just to buy on line
Collect present I have 'click and collected' to save postage
DD1 at free after school club :D

    DNMS hope you're feeling better
    Ally enjoy your time off

    Morning all :)
Feeling less glum today - hope you are too now, DNMS :)
    Today's list:
Ring friend and cancel planned meet up on Saturday - she doesn't need my germs! Done, will rearrange when we are lurgy free!
Use up some leftovers and bendy veg to make game soup for lunch (almost done). Chucked in a glass of port left over from last Christmas to pep it up a bit :pDone, some left for lunch tomorrow too :)
Leftover bolognese and a jacket potato for dinner tonight Done, made a salad as well for extra veg :D
Load of washing, which will either be pegged outside or dried on airer Didn't get put out, so I guess it is the airer!
No heating downstairs - less cold today, quite nice and sunny actually :)Wood burner alight now, hall door open so that the thermostat thinks it is warm enough and doesn't fire up the heating!
Pop some bits in to sales unit later Done
Post 2 ebay parcels - 2 more items have sold, but they haven't paid yet Posted 3, just wrapped 3 more for tomorrow's post :)
Look for online surveys None today for some reason!
    RM survey tasks Done
Dog walk later, for fresh air Didn't make it, OH did it!
Popped into Mr S so that OH could get some beer, picked up some YS fish, now in freezer
Must think of something for dinner tomorrow - really should get back into meal planning! It will be something we already have, so not too worried :)
    Nothing too ambitious :rotfl:

Very retro I know, but what about pineapple upside cake? For example, http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5562/pineapple-upsidedown-cake

Doesn't matter if your pineapple is chunks rather than rings!

    * Check banking/update spreadsheets :)
    * Take snacks for the car as one of the kids has an afterschool club tonight but as I have to pick up the other one I'll wait there in the car with snacks for him and his tablet and we'll wait rather then drive home and out again :)

    * Radiator shuffle washing - heating only on for an hr in the morning before we get up and an hour in the evening once kids are home. :)

    * Will use up a couple of left over wraps for the kids dessert tonight, with a mini sachet of Nutella from the use up box and some chopped banana :) There was 3 wraps so the mini sachet of Nutella had to go three ways so that I could have some ;)
    * Update useup/freezer lists with what we are using today/tmorrow :)
That will do for now will add more later hopefully. Have a good day all and I hope the cloud lifts DNMS

  • Hi all

Have sneaked home early with a nasty sickly headache. Just made a brew and when I have drunk it I am going to shut my eyes for half an hour. Doesnt help that boss no. 2 has dreamt up a list of extra things he would like me to do. No idea when I am supposed to find the time but hey ho.

Did 30 minutes on the spinning bike this morning at home to save class fees, washing over airer, YS chicken for tea. Have had to buy school trousers and jeans for DS2 who has got a tiny waist and ridiculously long legs so it limits where you can shop.

Right, a little nap then tea to make, DS2 to take to footie, trip to Li*l while he is at footie and a bit more paid stuff if I can squeeze it in.

So I had grand plans....and then I fell asleep...and woke up to discover the Home Insurance is due and the meters need reading.

*Also sorted through gift cards dh has had from work and checked balances. One card doesn't have anything on which by my spreadsheet should have £20 so have emailed customer care to see what they say
    * Cleared desk of all filing & got up to date with the shedding pile
    * Still got my scarf on to keep warm and the kids under a blanket watching some tv
    * Pulled some financial info together to help dh understand my up and coming plan! :D

  • Speak of the devil Bob :D:D here I am
Still here, still busy, still plodding on. I'm doing ok - a lot better than I have been for the past few months that's for sure. Finding time to eat well and exercise has really helped in terms of my motivation and feeling better...
Work has been completely manic this week - the servers keep going down and we've had no access to printing for a whole week now. Not the easiest of things to deal with whilst trying to teach. Other than that I'm keeping the MSE faith by being far too busy to do anything at all.
