La E thanks again for your kindness
I managed a no spend travel day using your oyster.
Excellent - glad you could get use out of it. :T
Yorkshirelass - nice to see you - hope you got an early night and are feeling refreshed this morning...
I'm just having a nice coffee before the day begins for real... Got lots on at work as a newbie started so I've only got about half a day to do a full day's work... Hopefully will be time well spent when she is fully trained...
I need to sort car insurance - that will be the next headache :rotfl:
Have a good day everyone!
More coffee anyone? :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:0 -

Mad day. Paid stuff no. 1, then paid stuff no. 2, then gym class and then back to paid stuff no. 1 for an evening meeting. I could skip my gym class but I dont want to and it's already paid for. Will be out all day. I also need to buy and post a birthday card and get some dog bics.
Chilli in sc for tea, lunch packed. Must get poor DS2s winter duvet out for tonight.
Right, best get moving, have a good day everyone x0 -
Morning guys
A pretty chilly morning here today! Hope your OK Dawn and not coming down with anything! I completed a few things on my list yesterday which is new for me! This morning I'm going to chill out and watch the TV for an hour then get up and have a shower. I'm supposed to be meeting friends for a coffee but I'm still waiting to hear on that one! If that doesn't happen then it will be a NSD! My list for today:
- Check bank accounts
- Swagbucks/My Survey/Nectar Canvass
- Hoover bedroom
- Shower
- Look into how much I could get for my car when I try and sell it in January - I'm a little sad at this but with maternity pay kicking in I just wont be able to afford to run it so Ill be back on the buses with my little man!
- All meals from home
I think that's about it! Have a lovely Tuesday everyone

Morning guys. Ziggy so sorry to hear of your loss x
My day is largely going to revolve around sorting our house out that is a major pig sty! How does it go from tidiness to a big mess in moments?!
Need to do a load of washing
Dinner will be a mystery dish and a crumble the outlaws gave us yesterday
I absolutely must sort out the fridge. It's getting out of control! If I'm not careful things will be perishing in there...
Need to post an eBay item
Will take madam to free singing group today as she loves to play with the toys at this particular children's centre
Hardly the most exciting of lists! Have a great day guys xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all
ziggy - sorry for your loss
Dawn - get better soon!
Well mum seems to be having a nice time. OH is going to take her to an art gallery this morning to keep her busy. I'm finally feeling normal after days of post-illness queasiness
In good news, two of my colleagues' jobs have been saved by our insistence that they are crucial to operations (which is true).
Today's mission:
Good things:- B/L/D from stores. OH making lasagne. mmmmm
- Charge phone in work
- Ask my boss if he can take me and mum into town tomorrow. OH in work and public transport will be too awkward for timing. - boss not in. Have issued a general plea to colleagues! - Hooray! Lift sorted!
- Nab herbal teabag in work left by freelancer
- Wash on but dry indoors as going to rain here today.
- Work very hard
- Crossfit at lunchtime
- Heating to "tropical"
Have a good one all

LuckyPennyThank you for starting us off this week.
I've not managed to post for the last few weeks, but I have been reading to keep up with everything. Pleased to say I have been keeping to my DFW ways.
:A Foxglove thank you, you posted a recipe for golden lentil soup a while ago on the GC. I made this yesterday from stores, I can't believe how cheap, easy and delicious it was, definitely going to be having it regularly from now on. I'm also going to pass the recipe on to my nephew :A
Yesterday we decided to put the heating on upstairs as it has got very cold here in our part of Yorkshire. We have underfloor heating we have set the temperature low and only for a short time each day. Our system is very flexible, we can set the heating to go on and off at different times and different temperatures in each room. Downstairs we have put one of 3 loops on in the kitchen, as that is on the cold side of the house, just to take the edge off the flags and the kitchen in general.
November is very busy for us, we are out nearly everyday including the weekends mainly Home Education related activities but a few social events thrown in as well. So we need to be organised so we can enjoy it and not spend money because we failed to plan. We have meal planned for this week and taken into account the day's where we will be very short of time so things that we can prepare quickly or in advance have been scheduled for those occasions.
Today's list:
Open curtains to make the most of the natural light
Close curtains before it gets dark
Wash hair and let it dry naturally
Only heating as described above
B/L/D from stores
Make bread
Go shopping and stick to my list
RM survey
Only planned spending HE session & shopping on list
Take packed tea with us tonight to martial arts training, block paid in advance thus qualifying for 2 discounts
PAD
FPL & Ashleigh
Make a batch of porridge
Set DW to run over night
Set WM to run over night
Turn off lights and appliances not in use
Making the most of jumpers, blankets and using HWB's in the children's beds to keep the heating to the minimum
Today I have no plans to light the living room stove as we are out quite a bit but if I do the kettle will be on top for free hot water, for tea, cooking, filling HWB's.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

Morning all,
Hope those feeling poorly are doing better.
Today's list from me
* Ys bread for toast for breakfast
* Gym class to make the most of the membership & filled water bottle there
* Dishwasher on quick wash
* Rm survey this afternoon
* Take fruit to swimming lessons so that the kids don't complain!
* Hoover everywhere
* Clean kitchen using starfrops
* Check banking/update spreadsheets
* Delete email junk
* Shower but leave hair to dry naturally, will use some of the hotel toiletries & older makeup as part of my current use up
* Do the washing radiator shuffle!
* Make packed lunches for tomorrow
* Pad out last nights left overs to make a meal for the kids
* Clear the desk - make sure we don't miss anything important
* Update calendar as we've had a change in afterschool activities - if the kids see it on their personal calendars we have less moans!
* Ironed only what I couldn't get away with just hanging straight away
Sure theres more but it will do for now! I'm freezing so going to go and add another layer and have a cuppa to warm up.
Have a good day all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Afternoon all

Definitely got a lurgy, but I think it is a cold as opposed to a tummy bug (wasn't sure yesterday!). Got up later than usual, managed to walk the dog, get some bits down to my sales unit and dash round Sainsburys this morning, but not done much since
Cheapie breakfast of porridge, stewed rhubarb from freezer and a spoonful of Lidl's yogurt
Managed to get some YS fish and chicken drumsticks in Mr S this morning (we don't get the really big reductions that some people on here mention, but a bit cheaper than usual at least!)
Dinner will be bolognese that I made on Sunday (thank goodness for weekend batch cooking!)
Car insurance renewal came through, will investigate others, but it looks competitive and their customer service is good, so likely to go with them again.
Had heating on for a while this morning as I was so cold (hard frost here this morning) but OH has reappeared and lit the wood burner now
Nice late birthday present of books from DD1 arrived just now, so I will just sit in the warm and look at those I think
Got GD tomorrow, so getting a rest while I can! 0 -
This week's bits and pieces:
- relist unsold eBay bits DONE!
- sit down and check YNAB matches up with my bank account
- figure out best way to sell camera lens (scared of selling on ebay and it breaking in post!)
- stick to the meal plan!
debt countdown: starting: £24,000 current: £23,380
