My partner just informed me he spent £450 on a coin for himself ...we went Xmas shopping on the weekend and when I asked how much we could spend on Xmas present for the 4 kids we have he said he only had 150...he then comes home in the week and tells me he bought a coin for 450....when I asked where he got the money from he said he had already factored in buying the coin when I asked how much we could spend I presents....
We don't have hardly any presents for the kids I am trying to pay off my son's present weekly (I'm not working staying home with baby)
What I'm asking is I was very annoyed at him for buying the coin so close to Xmas am I being unreasonable expecting him to put the kids before himself....he says it's his money t can do what he wants. He says I should just get over it it's done now and he has offered his last 150 to buy more presents...but if I take that he has no money for the month so I will and up bailng him out again ..
Grŕrrr....

What kind of coin?
Why did he buy it?0 -
Any man that puts himself before his Children is no man in my eyes.
Sorry OP, he's very selfish, dont bail him out, tell him the kids come first.,Fully paid up member of the ignore button club.If it walks like a Duck, quacks like a Duck, it's a Duck.0 -
These children, are they all his?
I remember your last post about contact with the ex and football
I'm sure I read you only have the baby by this man?0 -
He is a coin collector he said it was only available this mnths if he had waited he couldn't buy it...my response was well don't buy it then!
He said he can buy presents next mnths wages but that is missing the point it's another month wondering whether I can afford to get them anything which puts more stress on me.
Plus the fact he lied to me about how much money he has....he asked me a few weeks ago could I buy it and I said no and he did it anyway.0 -
Yes just one of the children are his0

It's absolutely disgusting IMO. I am not saying I would leave my partner over something like this, but this would cause a serious argument and a nasty rift.
Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. I know a ream of women who have men who have spent multiple 1000s on frivolous stuff for themselves, be it golf clubs, fishing rods and poles, season tickets for footie, or sci fi collectables and so on. Yet when the woman spends thirty quid on her hair, he hits the roof!
Some men (not all!) have it in their head that if they earn more, then that means they are entitled to spend more, forgetting that the mother of their children is looking after house and home and raising their children, and is often not in a position to contribute as much as him financially.
I would be telling him that *I* will now be spending £450 on ME. On clothes, perfume, shoes, jewellery, a few nights out with my mates etc, and see what he says about THAT. (Don't do it BTW, just say you are going to!)
His behaviour is childish, selfish, and disgraceful. Especially as you both don't seem to have a lot. If it were me, I would be making him send it back!Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!
You're not singing anymore........ You're not singing any-more!

He has 1 child, offered to give £150 + extra from next month's wages.
Presumably the coin has also retained value (whilst I appreciate hair and perfume can add significant emotional / psychological value - I don't think you can cash that in )
Does he normally have £450 to spend on himself?0 -
We have 4 children only one is his0
