  • Morning all :D :coffee:
Hope everyone is doing ok - I've just been catching up for the past couple of days after escaping from my marking pile.
Bob - hope that today brings you better business and that you get the £ you need and deserve...
Mothernerd - hope that you're on the up and feeling a bit better.
I haven't managed another nsd since Thursday so I'm still at 15 for the month so far. Yesterday was going to be a nsd, then remembered I needed a card and gift bag for a party ds is going to today... so I got those on the cheap from the card factory. Today may be spendy as well as L1dl has it's offers starting today and they have something that ds has on his Christmas list. I'm a bit torn though as he smashed his phone (again) yesterday so that's more £ that I wasn't planning to spend... I'm still thinking about it.
We put our Christmas decorations up yesterday . It feels way too early to me, but dh and ds are going away next weekend, when we would normally do it and I don't want ds to miss out. It has made me feel more festive but I've got to get through 3 more weeks of work first.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Thanks guys. Ended up having a few wines and finishing S1 of Poldark on Netflix last night (so annoying that S2 isn't available on iPlayer anymore!) Today started at 5.50 with a visit from DS...which then woke DD. Once he was despatched to watch cartoons the rest of us managed to doze for another hour. But feeling a bit wooly and bleu this morning. Have an hour before I leave again.

Greent I was a bit irritated to walk in the door at almost 7 last night and be told there was nothing for tea so the kids had not had anything....two seconds in front of the fridge uncovered cooked chicken amd cold pizza plus boxes of leftovers....all of which could have been heated up in minutes.
Also on my discovery list was a full washing machine that hadn't been turned on, and the same with the dishwasher....i wont go on...

Bob - I hope today improves for you. Did you give that hubby of yours a stern talking to? Unless I give my DH specific and detailed instructions he just floats about doing nothing useful, unless you count using every pan and utensil we have to make lunch.

xspender - I have a bay window in my lounge and that is where our Christmas tree goes. I particularly like to go outside and look at it through the window - my family and friends think I am odd for that, I even do it when the fire is on and I'll say it looks so cosy in there:rotfl:. Your day today sounds lovely.

DH and DS have gone to DS's football match, they were off early but will be back before lunch. We plan to nip to Tesco today and get wine and Baileys, there is 25% off 6 bottles of wine at the moment, I buy one per week which is included in the grocery budget so we will use £20 from that and the rest will be clubcard vouchers.

Other than that I don't expect to spend.

I lied. I need to put some petrol and LPG in my car, this will be from December's fuel budget and should see me through till Christmas.

  • I am still here and coping well!! Fortunately DH did not need to feed me Friday night:rotfl:
My left arm is completely fine and was by Friday night but my right arm is quite painful when I do random things like touch my forehead:rotfl:. Must be the way the nerves are in my arm and very close to the new implant.

Last night was out with old work colleagues - I had found a new Turkish place to try and it was lovely.
Getting ready was a drama as not allowed to get dressings wet for 5 days although they are shower proof - which is fine if you have a shower!! So I had a bath and laid down with my arms up in the air, then DH had to wash my back and my hair:eek: - he actually did really well bless him:rotfl:
Only spent £22 each which was the cost of our meal and drinks, went on to a pub and someone got us a drink and we left soon after as they were playing music and DH can't manage loud music.

DD had her friend round, they demolished the contents of Lidl I had purchased and went to bed at 3am - which is good because the last time she had a friend round they went to sleep at 6am!!

Today will be a NSD as not going near a shop - will be tidying the bedroom as it is messy and putting the archive committee stuff in the loft (well DH will do this!!) and then having a move around to make the bedroom nicer.

Had KonMari'd my clothes earlier this year but still seem to have too much - it's fine when I am not up to date with the washing but as soon as I am up to date my drawers are jam packed.
Need to really do this again and think logically about what I actually need to get by and what also sparks joy.

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi All :)

HAd a NSD yesterday. Today wasn't, as i had to buy some craft supplies for my DS to do his homework. So £7 spent in poundland. It may sound a lot, but it'll last for the rest of the academic year.

I forgot to mention my spends yesterday.

When we nipped to the bank we had a little peruse around the CS's. We got a Mum christmas card and a Mum and Dad one for 50p each in the RSPCA shop. Also got a brand new pair of those ice grips you put on over your shoes for FIL, they are boxed and were just £3.99. Apart from some grocery bits that was it.

  • Had an NSD today which is good because I don't think there will be another before the end of the month. Things to do before we go away and I really need to have my hair cut and coloured. Extravagance, I know, but it does make me feel better and my hairdresser gives me a 40% discount. Oh vanity!

Anyway, had a very productive day caching up with chores and organising Christmassy things.

Dinner is roast chicken which we should have had last week. My lovely friend phoned today. He's bringing lots of food to the Lake District for us which will save loads of money and he's offered to make all the dinners. What a star!

Bob - Hope you had a better day today.
Dolly - That is a brilliant price for ice grips. We bought some in the Lake District about three years ago and they cost about £20.00 each.

Hope everyone else is keeping well and warm. Anyone know what the weather is like in Keswick?
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

    Good evening everyone :hello:

Only one NSD last week, which is really frustrating. However, I have been more careful with the money I have spent and not much has been spent on the days I HAVE parted with money. We went to the pub to watch the rugby yesterday (far cheaper than a subscription to Sky!) and only had a couple of drinks. We've also been to the cinema with friends, but this was paid for well in advance.

On the positive side, I've been running down stocks in the cupboard and freezer, only really stocking up with milk and fruit & veg.

  • Bob - is hope you had a lucrative day today and that hubby cooks supper tonight!

X Spender and dolly - how lovely to have bay windows to display your trees! Makes me quite envious!

EE - hope your arm improves soon.

Knocked up another NSD today! So started wrapping a few pressies- those I have got so far for friends, boss, and my nail girl. i quite enjoy it when I can do it in dribs and drabs. Had a nice glass of Baileys while I was wrapping and felt quite Christmassy!

Tomorrow I'll be ordering a few more pressies. Little nephew likes "Paw Patrol" so will be online researching toys! I buy a present for sis and her OH's great-nephew but I have told her to get him something for £15 for me and I'll give her the money as I have no idea at all on what to get a tech-savvy nine year old boy!

Funny thing as well happened yesterday. My friend and I were talking about Xmas cards and she asked if I had got one for my new nephew. He's only three and a bit and to be honest I hadn't even thought about buying a Xmas card just for him. I suppose it's because I've never had a niece or nephew before and I've never bought Xmas cards just for children anyway though I always buy birthday cards.

    What do you think?

P.S Toni's friend - I think you should wrap up for Keswick. Bright but cold tomorrow!
