Sorry I've been MIA.
Right, i have failed miserably this month. Nowhere near enough exercise, for too many NSDs, so i am thinking about what i need to achieve in December.
Forward planning is my main issue. So although December is generally a spendy month, i am going to plan what i can and see it through.0 -
Just ordered heating oil 36.2p per litre - it was so much cheaper when I last ordered back in March but the light is on number 1 and I don't want to run dry over Christmas so £420 later I'm off for a little lie down in the corner.... Good job I phoned around - the first quote was 46.99 per litre -that would have been £543 - over £120 more!! Crazy!!

Hi all.
Today will be a definite no spend for me, I am totally ignoring the onslaught of advertising and emails for Black Friday. Same here, it's just too messy I think and difficult to see if it's actually a bargain
Payday for DH today and he had his backdated payrise from January (company and union have been arguing since then) and we also did the marriage allowance thing this month and he has got this years overpaid tax back (just waiting for last years to go into the bank now).
I also received £7 from Clicksnap which has gone into savings.
I am working today (any minute now:rotfl:), cleaning, dog walking and the school run and I will run later.

Well done on the oil price.
I usually shop around but last month I didn't and managed to get it for £402 all in.
There is a county oil buying club but when I look at their figures they seem to pay than me even though they have thousands of members.
I also try to buy in summer (usually) as that is the cheapest time although if you haven't used much you can't buy it unless your tank has enough room.0 -
Weds and Thurs were NSD's taking me up to 4 for the weekly challenge and 18 for the month.
Today is a spend day, DD needed her school dinner account topped up and also I got a 50% code for Hype (on trend clothing place for teenagers and older) so got DD 2 jumpers for Xmas.
Son has brought a computer game with vouchers he was given last Xmas!!
Will also fail at the no takeaways tonight, Indian will be purchased but I have a good excuse. Don't read on as it might be TMI:
Today I have the day off work as my contraceptive implant needs changing, as I have used the same arm twice it has to go in the other arm so instead of having one painful, achy arm I have two.
Had it done earlier today and the arm they took it our of is stinging like crazy as the anaesthetic wears off and the nurse was quite rough as she couldn't get it out - she told me I will be lovely and bruised!!
So this afternoon will be lazing around doing not much and getting DH to wait on me hand and foot - he will be the one buying the Indian!!
Tomorrow will be spendy as meeting up with old work colleagues - we are going for a meal and then drinks. No clubbing as we are too old and DH's head can't cope with the noise. DD will have a friend round while we are out (they are both 13 and we have 2 dogs and some lovely neighbours so they won't come to harm) so they will need sweets, pizza and fizzy drink to see them through.
Sunday will be a NSD so I can pass military again.
This month has been great on the NSD front, I managed to catch up on YNAB as not done since end of Oct and it was really quick because apart from the bills at the start of the month I haven't really spent all month!!!0 -
E_E - will your dh also have to feed you the food, if your arms are too painful?!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Thanks Eager Elephant and Thrifty - its just so expensive in one hit and if you sign up with one oil company on a dd scheme you're stuck at their choice when it comes to price. I looked into our local scheme a couple of years ago and ended up ordering by myself at the same time they did and I got a much better price. Just looked back through the bills, - it was 25p per litre at the beginning of March so the price is up by almost 1/3rd in 8/9 months. Off to buy some thermals
Enjoy your curry - sounds very much deserved!!
