Walked to local history session and back (slowly) but that has finished me off. Spent £1 on travel (yesterday) and £16.76 on everything else, primarily a huge bag of toilet rolls (stopped agonising over which deal was best and bought them in case I didn't feel up to going out again).
Will go on the naughty step as bought a pastie and a gingerbread man on the way home - something warm to eat and ginger to help settle my stomach. I hope it's the last of the bug working it's way out of my system as have been back and forth to bathroom.
I have phoned mum and been excused visiting duties in case our bugs are different variants. Checked and she is definitely not sending Christmas cards this year (everyone has been told). Usually take mine out the first week in December so needed to know if I had to write hers as well as mine. Hoping I am walking well by next week, otherwise will have an all day bus ticket and bus hop around (still not managed the cemetary and crematorium visits let alone the 'outings' I keep promising myself.
Today I am grateful for comfy sofas, convenient toilets (no pun intended) and warm pasties. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

It's really cold and icy here so I'm staying in and clocking up another NSD. 15 this month so far. I haven't been to the shops for over a week now and we haven't come close to running out of anything. I'm beginning to think we're still buying too much. Nothing goes to waste but maybe we should buy less at.a time. With less than a week to go till the end of the month there's still a little more than half of the household budget left. I suppose that's partly due to me being off colour but it doesn't explain it all.
Anyway, have a good day everyone. Hope you're warmer than I am.
Thank you. If nothing goes to waste then I'd say you are doing fine on your buying. And money left over? Amazing. :T" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hi all :hello:
I've hit nsd 15. I'm in exactly the same boat as FMess work wise. I always forget how utterly draining November is in the world of teaching. It's good in that it stops you spending but awful in that it leaves you completely and utterly drained and desperate for a break. At least there's a long run into Christmas this year so I might not feel like sleeping for the entirety of Christmas Day.
Dolly - thanks for volunteering to run the Christmas threadNot giving up

Thanks for volunteering to do December's thread dolly - I'll put myself forward to do January, by that time I shall be back in proper internetland so will no longer have to peck out my posts on my phone.
Met my friend for lunch today, spent a little more than I had budgeted but it was so yummy. Best gf meal I've had out for ages
Then went to a stressful shift at work, I fear tomorrow will be much the same so my planned NSD may be scuppered by much needed chocolate and wineMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

SFD again today and same as ccl that I am grateful and looking forward to the Christmas break already. Work is horrendously busy and then the bosses had a go at everyone for not having the same level of commitment as last year! Grrrrrrrr
Today should be a SFD too as I hope to come straight home after the bell and be able to see the progress on my house renovations in the light for the first time this week.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

All I can say is that I started off well but after the first 10 days or so it's all gone out the window. This week alone I have spent £414 on a holiday booked for April and my car service cost £195 and two new tyres are needed at £200 approx on Monday.
I don't think with Christmas shopping now on my agenda that I will get even close now until next year.
But I have learnt a lot about myself and my lack of willpower, my generosity with my family and friends, and my need to have food cupboards full or I get anxiety attacks.
I will learn from this that I need better planning and forethought.
I will visit my budget for the seasons and make sure I have covered what I spend in it though.
The holiday did come out of the holiday fund.
the car out of the emergency fund.
But the gifts were not quite out of any specific pot. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Dolly and misstara thank you for volunteering for the next two months.
Mooloo, yes it is money spent but at least you had a holiday and car fund and it didn't have to come out of everyday budget. Plus the car needs to be safe so this is not frivolous spending. Same with the holiday, the kids are off school and a holiday club wouldn't have been that much cheaper considering you get the whole family on a holiday.
Not sure if today will be an NSD, I'll definitely try. Might have to change this week to civilian as I already had 2 spend days and need another one at least for food on the weekend.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hi all.
Today will be a definite no spend for me, I am totally ignoring the onslaught of advertising and emails for Black Friday.
Payday for DH today and he had his backdated payrise from January (company and union have been arguing since then) and we also did the marriage allowance thing this month and he has got this years overpaid tax back (just waiting for last years to go into the bank now).
I also received £7 from Clicksnap which has gone into savings.
I am working today (any minute now:rotfl:), cleaning, dog walking and the school run and I will run later.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
