Thrifty It came out lovely. Curry powder always saves the day!
The JAM article is interesting. But some of it is a bit contrived. These days having a degree is more of a reason to be struggling not less so that point is iffy.
That's true. A masters and a PhD in this household. Although strictly speaking we're not really JAMers any more as childcare costs have come down and the rest of the spending is/are lifestyle choices and in our control. Different situation 3 years ago.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
I'm happy to do the December challenge if no other takers, I was thinking something straightforward as people are busy with festivities.
I'll wait to see if anyone else really wants to do it.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Personally I'd like to see the government do more to help working parents with the cost of childcare. It is ridiculous how much it costs in the UK. Until this point is addressed we won't have anywhere near the number of talented female workers back in the workforce and that is a huge issue. I'd like to see childcare professionals properly paid as well. Off topic for the general thread so apologises Turtles!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Thank you for all your kind comments the other day.xx
Hope all you stressed and poorly people are feeling better soon.
Been a lovely sunny day here so got a lot of things done.Funny how the sunshine livens people up!
Monday was a NSD. Tuesday I had a Tesco delivery. Living in a small town with only a c0-0p It's cheaper to pay for a home delivery. Freezer now full.
Put a very small chicken in the slow cooker and reckon I can get 6 meals out of it. Should add I live on my own and I'm not starving a family:rotfl:
To day was also a NSD.Hopefully tomorrow will be as well. Aiming for 5 again this week.
Out Friday as I work a few shifts at the local hospice shop. There has been nothing at all that I fancy in there. If I was a size 10 and 40years younger I'd be the best dressed person in town:mad:
Hope everything goes well for you all for the rest of the week.
Better go I've bored you enough.

A planned spend day for me, took the bus to craft session, bought antiseptic cream and ibruprofen and a couple of food items. Want to get toilet rolls and a sack of onions tomorrow, still thinking what else I need.
I haven't done much today but quite happy. I had only had 6 hours sleep (2 x 3 hour chunks) over the past couple of days and wanted to hide under the bedclothes. Took a lot of effort to get myself up and out of the house.
Crafts was lovely. Less people there but no-one needed 'helping' and several of us were sleep deprived or under par so most did colouring, one woman knitted and I sat embroidering. Some gentle chat and very relaxing. Walked home as I was tired of waiting for the bus which of course passed me before I reached the end of the block.
Straight to bed (collected the bin on my way in), started reading but mostly slept and feeling better now (still want lots more sleep).
Today I am grateful for time to relax, that the effort to make myself go out was worthwhile and for sleep, lovely sleep. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
NSD for me today, 2 for the week.
Tomorrow I have a library fine to pay, postage (some work and some personal) and the carpet fitter so will order a Christmas gift and a decoration and a bed for the guest room! I can't have my 76 year old mother sleeping on a blow up bed over Christmas! We need milk too.
I was supposed to start my healthy eating plan today but a meeting with lots of GF cakes put paid to thatWill start again tomorrow and do some exercise.
