Greent Good for you! Yes workmen can be shisters. We got ripped off by a cowboy who actually damaged our house and left us to pay again for the work he'd done. My husband is so mild tempered but I don't know what he'd doing he ever saw that guy again....
Thrifty Your snow break sounds good. School are doing a ski trip in March and DS is old enough this year to be included. I'm not sure really. I have never learned to ski and would have my daughter to look after. I'm encouraging DH to consider taking DS alone. At the end of the day the experience is for DS and by only one of us going it will be much cheaper. But what do you think? Have you taken your LOs on ski trips? I am very unsure about the whole thing really as we haven't had a family holiday since 2011 and the cost of even two of the family going sking would pay for a break for the whole lot of us ...
NSD 13 under construction! Have food sorted and only school run to do." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

What a day it was yesterday, hope anyone caught in the storms has come out the other side OK.
I have been cycling this morning and will run this evening. No plans to spend any money today. Yesterday I received a refund of overpayments to our energy company (you have to ask for it back) and that was transferred to savings. I had a target of £2k in savings by the end of the year and we have exceeded that now.
That's excellent Dolly:T" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Do you mean you'd join DS on his school trip or are considering a separate trip as a family?
That will be our first trip with the kids (2 and 5). I can ski and snowboard, DH snowboards but I don't mind just taking the kids sledging. Although DD (2) will probably be on skis on day one whereas DS (5) will go sledging
I would rather take everybody on a trip you can organise yourself? That would be much cheaper I think Where is DS going? Germany, Austria, France etc are expensive, the czech republic and Poland etc have good snow too (especially if you don't need expert 60% angle downhill slopes) but are much cheaper (we got our deal on B00king.c0m). When we went last year there were loads of families where one half skied and the other half took care of a baby in a sledge, went on walks etc. Too many variables but I think I ski holiday for 4 for a week (food, flights, ski hire, hotel) can be less than £1000 especially in eastern EuropeDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Apologies again, that's all I seem to be good at this month. No idea where I am up to chasing my tail all the time. Work on meltdown mode. Seem to just get home and have a headaches all the time lately, doze off and then can't sleep at night.
I didn't spend Sunday, Monday or today so could be 3 in a row. Saturday bought some material, made a table runner and started covering a chair I was given. Ran out of staples so project abandoned till a spendy day.
Took friends dog out yesterday and just say my Gortex coat has given up the ghost, all my shoulders soaked, not just the seams but it must be over 13 years old so will have to get another one this week -only waterproof coat I have.
Just keeping my head above water with debt repayments this month, jealous of you all doing so well. Bob, Dolly sorry if missed anyone out just skimmed through this thread.
Back to the grindstone, couldn't face lentil soup today so had a tin of beans in my drawer. Looking like lentil soup tomorrow however.
Sorry won't hang about long on here, not in an upbeat mood at all and it might be infectious ;-)LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -

Don't beat yourself up, you're doing well too. Three NSDs in a row :T, crafting done, still managing lunch at work (finding an alternative to the one you didn't fancy rather than giving in to shop bought one). These small things all add up and contribute to you reaching your goal.
Make sure you drink enough at work. I spend a lot of time on a computer and need to have a bottle next to me. If I drink any less then two pints a day (water that is ), especially if I'm stressed I can't shake the headache and fatigue.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Scrubbed the bathroom, put the sink back together, had a bath, got dressed and finished off a book, might have had a 3 hour kip (didn't get much last night), walked to library, donated 4 toiletry items to the food bank (completing 12 items this month, 12 more next month for reverse advent calendar) but had to sit down before coming back, put a meal together but will stay on the bed for the rest of the day - reading, resting, sewing and a bit of paperwork.
Today I am grateful for bee socks, for making progress and clocking up NSDs (I am on 18, thinking I should ive back the 2 from last week which were travel only because too ill to walk). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Came across this today. Scroll to the video at the bottom of the page and watch the video. What he says about foodbanks is very interesting and also incredibly disturbing (to me at least).Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
