You know what they say, finding a caterpillar in your food is better than finding half a caterpillar in your food...:rotfl:a well extra protein?
Sorry Dolly I see you beat me to the pun
Tehe, can't even blame Tescimo. Was actually a caterpillar from my garden as it was the last batch of my own kale.
I'd say take the offer btw. It's been on for so long. Although I guess it depends how much less it is. Not sure of the actual value. 80/120 - wait. 160/200 - I'd take the offer. Iykwim.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Thanks for the welcomes everyone - is lovely to see so many familiar faces - including our very own NSK!!! Hello one and all!!!
Amidst torrential rain, Black Friday temptations... caterpillar soup and even unimaginable tragedy - we lift our heads high, and continue our charge into battle with our debt. Good work everyone!
I'm trying to get back into good habits for next month. Packed lunches, leaving my wallet at home, using up food in my fridge/freezer/cupboards... I'd forgotten how good it felt to be challenging myself and being productive!
Keep smiling everyone :j

Thank you Thrifty. I had a chat with a man who knows and he said whilst my kit is in better condition than a lot, you can get them for the offer I've been made. So Ive taken the deal. Annoyingly the person then wanted to cancel due to a sizing issue. But I persevered and an end of the week collection is being arranged.
I will pay the full £200 off the CC which will put me at 74% repaid. I wanted to hit £700 by the end of December so this will put me under that! I'd love to think £0 was possible by end of the year but there has been too many bumps in the road since I first set that target in January." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I am not very good at this challenge.
I started off really well. But although Sunday was a NSD, I think that was about it.
Monday and Tuesday I did not go out and spend but I think I still bought something on line.
Yesterday I bought our Easter Holiday although I had the money saved up for it.
I also bought a sandwich at£2.00 as I forgot to take lunch.
I have reduced the day to day spending as we no longer pop to mr T after school and I have reduced the trips next door to the baguette shop. Only having popped in twice this month instead of 2/3 times a week.
But with Christmas fast approaching I am spending more money on that now. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Think I am on the road to recovery.
Since 5am I have cooked 4 pork chops (took them out to defrost last night), used two kettles of water and all the remaining soda crystals to try to unblock the sink, moved all the paint cans from under the table to under the stairs, relocated half a cupboard of 'paint related' items (small pots, filler, wire brushes etc) to under the stairs, put more of beloved's gadgets into the half cupboard, cleaned the bag they were in as some cordial had leaked.
After a short rest period I went back to do the washing up. Sink still hadn't drained so pulled all the cleaning stuff out from under the sink (luckily found 2 odd rubber gloves to use for the nasty bit), unscrewed the u-bend, pulled out lump of gunk, sink still not clearing, unscrewed bit sealing off end that used to go to DS2's washing machine, degunked that, unscrewed the bit that goes up to the sink outlet, loads of gunk, added boiled water and lots of washing up liquid and left to soak, put large pan under hole to catch the tap water until it went hot, swapped back and took pan outside to empty, did as much of the washing up as possible with one sink of water (back not up to more bending and lifting pans full of water), wiped out bottom of cupboard, wiped up spill from bag that was being cleaned, re-filled the airer with clothes from outside, put things in washing machine into the basket and put dirty rags into machine, thrown down dark clothes to add to wash and brought more clothes up to dry on bathroom and my room radiators (not on atm).
Forgot to bring up the spray to start on cleaning the bath but it can wait.

Mothernerd, amazing. Very impressed with your productivity and persistence.
In contrast I've managed very little, however yesterday was another NSD and today should be too. Although I do have a my weekly FIFA night with my friend which has occasionally led to a quick trip to a SM for snacks so hopefully we can get by without tonight.0 -
Bob good, glad it worked out and so close the the DFD!!!
Mothernerd glad you're feeling better. And what a busy day.
Booked a holiday yesterday. Well a hotel in the czech republic. We'll be in Germany anyway to visit my parents and wanted to take them on a snow holiday for a few days after new year. Basically taking babysitters with us. Found a great deal on a hotel with a small pool, sauna etc close to where we stayed last year on a mountain top for £330 for 3 nights for the 6 of us. Nothing paid yet as it's booked but you only pay the bill when you leave. But got the money planned in my December budget.
Had the window guy round yesterday for a window quote. And oh it was like taking part in a Watchdog episode about rogue sales men. What a load of !!!!. They're just making up the prices and discounts up as they go. Buying them on their finance saves me a grand, don't think so mate. Then phoning the boss in front of me saying they're not really interested blah blah. No I told you I just wanted a quote. Oh and I will get other ones. His reply, no I wouldn't do that, why bother. It was hilarious. Poor chap got the I doubt everything you say and don't mess with me I'm German response. Dh just wanted him out. DH thought it was totally pointless whereas I thought it was a good starting point to get a ballpark figure and compare more local and other firms to.
Anyway, NSD, swim and HM lunch (sans caterpillar).DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
What a day it was yesterday, hope anyone caught in the storms has come out the other side OK.
I have been cycling this morning and will run this evening. No plans to spend any money today. Yesterday I received a refund of overpayments to our energy company (you have to ask for it back) and that was transferred to savings. I had a target of £2k in savings by the end of the year and we have exceeded that now.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

We had our windows and doors replaced last year. Had several quotes. Had a visit from one firm which insisted on both myself and husband being here - which made me cross - however, as he was at home that week anyway I went for it. The guy came in and I threw him out within 5 minutes. My husband told him I wasn't happy with us both having to be there (he often works away, so no idea how they do that then) and I said that I just wanted a quote - none of this sign up now and you'll get a discount lark - I had someone coming the next day for a quote, so nothing was going to persuade me to sign up that day, and I told him this. I also said I wanted a firm price - no messing around with offers/ discounts/ manager's specials etc - he looked uncomfortable and said that he probably wasn't for me as he was looking to get us signed up straight off - I marched straight to the front door, opened it and said 'well in that case you can leave my house now then' - so he did, looking sheepish
Small spend yesterday on Xmas presents - and a humane mouse trap. Food all from stores (OH had HM roll with ham salad, I had oven baked risotto (using last of risotto rice, some chicken crumbs from carcass a couple of weeks ago and stock and spinach all from freezer, with garlic, mushrooms and onions from fridge) Dinner - kids had pizza and I had more risotto with oven baked tomatoes in balsamic. OH was asleep so just grabbed a bowl of cereal later on
Today should hopefully be NSD. Cant see any reason for spend. Have Zumba-ed this morning, so exercise has been done. Lunch will be last of the risotto. OH is out. Dinner tonight is roast butternut squash 'chips', chicken sausages and baked mushrooms and tomatoes. Those not liking it will have pasta with the last of the chicken crumbs from the freezer and the last cm of double cream in the tub in the fridge stirred into the tomato sauce
Chilly here today - but at least the incessant rain of yesterday has stopped! Hope everyone is safe from the floods!

dolly - Huge well done on smashing your saving target
greent - Good on you for putting the foot down with all the nonsense. So time consuming more than anything else.0
