    Hi all.

I spent on bus fare yesterday, bakery items and coffees for me and DD on our day out. Didn't actually buy anything else though.

Last night I reserved DS's Christmas presents at Argos so will go and collect and pay today. One is a joint birthday and Christmas present for him as his birthday is at the beginning of January. So I will technically be spending money today but it is all saved up so I'm fine with that.

I am debating going cycling this morning but it is very bitter outside. DS's football has been cancelled as the pitch was snowy.

  • Friday was a spend day - DD has Children In Need at school and I had to get some crayons for school for her. Also picked up some felt tip pens to go with our adult colouring books we are having for Xmas.

Saturday was also a spend day, another jumble sale so also popped to Lidl to get milk, fruit, veg etc. Have broken one of the rules about not buying for Xmas, Lidl had some fab kids books/toys in so that is 3 nieces/nephews done.
Jumble sale was very good, no clothes for me but managed to get DH some t-shirts, some of his are too small so they can go to my brother. also got a toy for my nephew for his birthday and some cuddly toys for the dogs.

Today should be a NSD - I am not going anywhere near a shop today - if it is a NSD then that will be 5 for the week and military passed again!!
Can't remember my total for the month though!!

Have a good day everyone and watch the wind, rain and floods!!

    Hello Everyone!!!

Has been ages since I was last here, and it's lovely to see so many of you doing so great...

I'm getting in early to ask if I may rejoin you for December? Pretty please???

I've realised I've slipped into some bad spending habits... and need to tighten my belt again. At first glance, my signature looks great!... I have £2600 in a Help to Buy ISA, and £1800 in a Savings account (my Emergency Fund)... HOWEVER... I've also got stuff back on credit cards (all at 0% though)... alarm bells are ringing and I need to get back on track asap!!!

Breaking every rule - I'm NOT going to clear my debts with my savings (because of the 0% and I lose the interest on my savings to date if I withdraw them)... but I do need to STOP my card use...

It started as a 'I'll use it for shopping and clear it at the end of each month'... which worked for a bit but as you now see - has spiralled... It's too easy to put stuff on them - buy now pay in a zillion years!

So, I have until the end of next year before my 0% period ends and I have to clear it by then. So - it's time to pay the piper and get back on board with living frugally! I had a real wake up call at work when I found out my monthly budget was on a par with a colleagues family of 4! So... December - if I may - I would like to rejoin the ranks and ride forth into battle with debt once more!!!

    :T

Ps. I feel bad I still have my 'debt free' badgey thing... I mean I have debt... though technically if I used my savings I am not 'in debt' as I'd have a positive balance. Maybe I'll let the powers that be decide if I get to keep it or not haha!

Anyway - Sorry for materialising mid-way through the month and gate crashing - I shall cheerlead for the rest of Nov!

    :T :T :T

Hellooo abundant - good to hear from you! Well done on noticing the rot creeping back in - and on deciding to do something about it.

Mainly by being a complete leech and hanging out at home with my rents. Mumsy buys noms once a week, in a wide, clever, penny-pinching, researched sweep of Lidls, a local Irish store called Dunnes, Tesco and Asda. Then we go home.

However when her darling daughter has been joining her, things end up in the trolly that she wouldn't ordinarily have planned for.

    So I need a job....:rotfl:

Declined by one company, awaiting another, a further list of stores will get my CV this week, with a big grin and a push up bra...(kidding Mummy - I know you are reading this...).

I want to do a course, teaching English as a foreign language in January. Good rates of pay here in the UK and many contacts abroad which will enable me to travel onwards and do something different. So I definitely need a job as it's the prestigious, horrendously priced CELTA through the University of Cambridge no less.

I have £400 to put towards it, and you all know I like a challenge, I need another £1250. :T:T:T

I can live at my Grans for the 4 week course in Belfast, although travel will cost me £130 and is included in that overall price above. A friend has just finished the course and will lend me the books required.

So that is the news in the wild world of NSK at the moment, attempting exercise by helping Mumsy with a massive cleaning project, but as we have had snow and ice recently I have been less reluctant to go outside for a walk or kettle bell session. Must change that, am eating too much already. Thanks Mumsy...:rotfl:

Right... I need a cup of tea.

Ahhhhhhh me nerves can't take it. Having had zero eBay sales for around 6 weeks first a £15 comic sold today, and then whilst I was lying in a quiet dark room trying to feed DD off to sleep, an offer pinged on me tablet for £200 on a piece of kit I've had on for months! I have countered it as I had if on for a lot more, and nothing has come back yet! I was mentally working out my new CC total already :) teach me to count my chickens....

Greent you are the second person today I've heard of on here talking about baking with OOD fruit (hers was dates funny enough)

My own use it up/wear it out bake off involved all the 'rejected' fruit I have saved over the last few months and frozen. It's great in scones chopped up. These were orange, lemon, peach and plum. And I also made ginger bread with rum drizzle ixing. Cor :)

Spendy day again as bought the light fitting I needed but didn't have chance to take back the wrong one yesterday as the shops are miles apart and it's not worth the petrol if I'm not going that way. I'll go that way in the next few weeks anyway.

    Lots of school work done

Saturday was a NSD but we went to the supermarket yesterday to get lunch things for this week. Will need to check how many NSDs I'm up to now. Exercise wasn't great last week as I seemed to have things on after work most evenings so back to it this week.

Bob I hope you get a good price for your Ebay item.
