A spendy day for me yesterday, met some friends after work for tea. We used a voucher to get it cheaper so £15 spent.
Started making christmas cards last night after buying more craft stuff on Wednesday so that will keep me occupied for the next couple of weeks.
Heading over to a friend's after work for a catchup and food. Should be a NSD as she is going to cook.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Morning chums,
Nailed another NSD yesterday however I don't think today will be. Going to buy a small bouquet of flowers for my gran tonight as a thanks for making my dinner tonight. Amazon black Friday sale starts today so will have a look for some xmas gifts too.
Have a nice day everyone.0 -
Morning All!
Well done Thrifty for not smoking!
Today is going to be a spend day, i have to do some food shopping.0 -
Good morning,
Spend day here today. Ordered some ski helmets for the kids for their main present and got them >50% reduced. Found a website that added a 15% special reduction this week which in the end also saved me the postage.
Will have to pop into town at lunch as we can't find any of the kids gloves in the house or anywhere and we're planning on going to the christmas light switch on in town after work. Probably have to feed them in town as there was nothing left in the house for sandwiches or similar. Maybe also do a wee top up shop to tie us over to the big shop on Sunday.
Will defrost the freezer tonight (can easily store things meanwhile in the conservatory as it's below freezing) and will do an audit before I go shopping on Sunday.
Black Friday puzzles me. Since when can a day last a fortnight?
EDIT: Just played with my numbers for the next 7 months some more and moved my DFD from July to March 2017. Only 4 pay-days away, now it seems some much more "close" (:rotfl: for lack a better word). I will do this. Then onto getting rid of OHs overdraft (which is not included in "OUR" debt) and save for this kitchen. So excited and determined as it is in reach now.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
LAGL - well done on sorting out your tyre. Sorry to hear about the chicken.
Thrifty - Black Friday is just getting silly here this year, it is supposed to be next week, it all sounds super stressful to me.
Kids have had to take money in for Children in Need today. DD has non uniform at £1 and DS had to wear full uniform and something spotty - I don't know what the school was thinking, boys don't tend to wear spots and it only left socks anyway, he had none and I wasn't going to buy any, I would rather donate more than buy something. So he has gone without anything spotty and will just make a donation.
Snow here today again but so far without the chaos of the other week. Bus was on time for DD - YAY.
No more of my money should change hands today. Pizza night here tonight but they are already in the freezer. I have a ton of housework to do so need to stop drinking coffee and get on with it.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Finally gave in and spent yesterday as I needed more milk, and I want to cook the Chicken curry today. Was ruthless and only got essentials, not all the items on my list.
Got home and the vegan is coming, so I can prep that too today. Also going to make some pumpkin brownies. I bought a dented tin for some unknown reason yonks ago, and its going to go out of date so I hunted up a recipe. Very similar to the avocado/butternut squash ones I do already.
As I was spending I reviewed my amazon basket and bought only 1 item. The need not want one. 'Insert smug smile'
I also reviewed an M&S order I do need - but hadn't checked sized and CBA'd so will process that on my next spend day. (Just checked the sizes and just as well I didn't go with a guess. Why I bother buying bras I don't know!)
Should get paid something today! My new boss still lives in the 1900's. He won't set up a BACS so that our payroll lady can just arrange a transfer at the end of the month, he's going to go into the bank today and do it manually as he has the cash at the moment! I'll wait and see.
Thankfully I wasn't expecting to be paid until the end of the month so there's no cash flow problem. However, I think I'l have to budget based on irregular payments. Joy!
Congrats thrifty on the not smoking. I've really cut down on my Pepsi addiction since getting back. 2 cans only yesterday!Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Mooloo what a lovely post moved me to tears. Zero hours contracts should be banned. You have to help your kids out. I have written down name of your book got a friend going through so much at moment might help her along.
Apologies did write a post the other day but it vanished into cyber space.
Ended up going out last night to cheer friend up, her dd had another major brain op, 6 hrs and it was too late for her to go traveling 2hrs to hospital then, so we went to see a naff local amateur play, so funny for all the wrong reasons, overdid smoke machine we were all coughing and couldn't see. Glad to see her laugh for a change - money well spent.
Going to wizz around shops need some butter and milk. Not liking ice on my car this morning.
Mothernerd hope your feeling a whole lot better.
Thrifty well done keep going.
Will read properly later, looking forward to a night in, leftover hotpot so glad of it in this weather.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
NSD number 3 – 9 in total this month. Will have to shop for bits and pieces (mostly for son's packed lunch) tomorrow. Also tomorrow will be going out to an unplanned dinner. Cousin's son and his little girl are visiting unexpectly from Canada for a week and have asked me to go to a small family dinner in a local restaurant. I haven't seen him for 25 years so feel obliged to accept the invitation. C isn't up to socialising at the minute so I'm going with son. It;s not a fancy place so shouldn't be too expensive and it will be nice to see him again.
Made ministrone soup for lunch to use up some celery and tomatoes which were getting past their best. Enough left for tomorrow. Washing and ironing are now up to date and I've managed to do quite a few little bits and pieces around the house. Really need to start giving everything a real good tidy and clean next week.
Have a good week-end.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
NSD day today. And paid. Yay.
Off to menu plan for the next 2 weeks. And New Year. We have visitors. How many remains to be seen. 2 definite. Potentially 5 more adults and 3 squealers. Joy.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

Thankyou. the book is available on Amazon although I got mine "free" I had to pay shipping from America but it was well worth it.
Not succeeded with no spends today either. I forgot to take my lunch to work so paid 90p for a sausage roll on the market and 80p for a leek.
Tonight has cost me £16 as we eat out at local pub every couple of weeks with a friend and her kids too.
But as I am still feeling unwell then not having to cook or wash up I can live with the trade off. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
