Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. Things haven't been going well here.
Money wise it's fine as I managed the 5 NSD last week and hope to do the same this week.
A friend and neighbour of mine went shopping the other day and got knocked down and killed. A big shock to all who new her.

Going to go for 5 NSD again this week.Need a big food shop as the freezer only has 3 things in it and the cupboards are looking bare. Ran everything down before the kitchen re-fit.
Internet keeps coming on and going off so I've got a big pile of stuff ready to e-bay when it decides to behave itself!!!
Hope every one has a good week

See you in a wee while.

Ok finally caught up. Freezing up here. Minus 4 this morning. But glorious sunshine.

Ilovetea, sorry to hear about your loss. It's really scary how quickly a live can be taken from loved ones.

NSK good luck with getting the money together for this course.

abundant good to see you back. You're more than welcome to join us in December although I don't know who will be running it.

Eager_elephant don't worry I have broken the "no shopping for christmas" rule too. yesterday alone I bought 3 l of vodka and 19 lemons to make limoncello for friends' gift. Although all my christmas spending came from a special pot.

Sorry to hear about all the work stress and insomnia it's causing. Only 4 weeks to the holidays. Hang in there.

FurryBeastOz well done achieving 14 NSD. Only NSK has one more I think but she's sneaking things into her mum's shopping basket ;)

Boarella glad you finally got paid and good luck with the ebay sales

Welshkitty that's an impressive rubber chicken too. My DD (2) would chase me if she'd only get a wing and a wee bit of breast meat. And they do eat their veg too. Had a duck yesterday and the four of us nearly demolished it . Hopefully enough left for stovies and chinese noodles.
Had a lovely beef joint from the slow cooker on Saturday. Bought a roasting joint from Aldee by mistake as I usually buy stewing steak or brisket. DH was not looking fwd to that dinner as he knows roast beef joints to be dry. But my word, the slow cooker turned it into the yummiest most tender bit of meat. And plenty left this time ;)

Toni's friend hope you enjoyed your dinner with your cousin's son.

Saturday DH was out in the hills trying to snowboard on barely existing snow. I got a fair bit of house work done. On Sun I sent DH away with the kids so I could get some crafting done during the day (too zonked after the kids are in bed) and make us all christmas stockings. Feel I have achieved sth now and moving fwd in my christmas craft. I can do house work all day and feel like I've done nothing but just one our of crafting works wonders.

A big window company knocked on the door yesterday and I asked them to come back today for a quote. Just want to get a ball park figure, told them we're not doing the windows any time soon.

    Have nice day

Oh and I have sinned. I smoked Fri and Sat. But back on track since then. Not beating myself up about it as it is an improvement not to smoke all week.

  • Gosh I am doing so badly - still! So this week I aim for 3 NSD. I have to do this! Still going through the cupboards and freezer has been decimated but a few ys things popped in over the weekend. Food budget inn existant - OH now back at work so should get back on track. Cooked a ys chicken for sandwiches this week and making stock from the carcass. We did up the bathroom and downstairs loo last week so money spent there, about what I expected. But night out with friends exceeded expectations! Cocktails! What can I say! I still feel sick.....
Off for a run tonight. On top of Christmas stuff - just the cakes to decorate in a few weeks. Only pressures for OH to get and I have no idea what!

    Hello All

I didn't get a chance to post last week as I was away with work from Sunday to Friday  I will try and catch up with the thread and everyone's news.

ilovetea - so sorry for your loss, it must be such a shock for you

I did mange 4 NSDs last week and one of the other days was a spend of under £4 for snacks for a 4 hour train journey at the end of the week. I made up for it on Saturday and Sunday though :o

DH did a good job of clearing the freezer of food when I was away and spent very little. Not much left in the food budget following the shop to stock the fridge back up.

While I was away DH moved jobs internally which has drastically reduced his stress levels and he is full of positivity for the new role even though it may not be a long term role. He was making himself ill and ended up being off last week ill.

DH and I appear to be finally on the same page and have planned a strategy meeting to prepare for a frugal, debt busting 2017

Today isn't a NSD as I have already bought breakfast. :o
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Bleugh, just found a caterpillar in the HM scotch broth I took for lunch today. I already ate three portions of that. Must have come from the bag of kale I added. Oh, well, someone in the lab baked a chocolate cake and that'll be my lunch now. Could be worse ;)
