  • Went out today - goodness it was freezing!

Had a spendy day buying items for son's lunches next week and some toilet rolls, toothpaste etc. Still don't feel like eating so the other two are fending for themselves from the freezer. We're off to the Lake District for two weeks on December 3 so will stock up on some things for my son before we go. He's not high maintenance and so long as there are pizzas, bolognese etc in the freezer and a supply of coke in the fridge he's quite happy. Until then I don't think we should have to buy any food apart from fruit. Got lots of things to do so better start getting on with it next week. Is December 1 too early to put up the Christmas tree?

EE - Hope you've recovered. Enjoy your take away and your meal tomorrow.
LAGL - Well done on your fuel saving. It's really expensive, isn't it?
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Very strange - I posted yesterday lunchtime at work but it's not here! I must admit I didn't check it afterwards as had to take a call so maybe I didn't click properly or something!

Anyway - big thanks to dolly and mistara for taking on December and January.

Bob - everything seems to have fallen in place for you this month - well done. And lots of NSDS for people. Plus some nice holidays to look forward to!

Yesterday was a NSD but also not a NSD! By that I mean I didn't spend on me personally but a client called to ask me to buy a nice bottle of booze for my boss for Xmas and he will send me the money. I do this for him every year as he is quite elderly. So bought a bottle of cognac - spent £45 so this will go towards my Cashback on my Amex card!:j

Have to go out soon so will update later on today - which isn't going to be a NSD I'm afraid!

  • Spendy day today I'm afraid in Seasideville! I was off work today so had lunch with a friend. Also ordered Christmas wreath for my mum and dad's grave, bought Xmas pressie rosettes, baubles, Xmas gift for sis's little niece, bunny for friend's new baby ( not a real one, bunny I mean not baby!). And a Christmas pressie for me - table lamp to replace broken one in living room - though £30 in birthday pressie vouchers went towards it!

And finally - bought theatre tickets as birthday present for my sis. We always take one another to theatre and a meal for our birthdays. I've already ranted about this on my diary but will do so again! How greedy are these theatres/booking agencies charging a £13.50 booking fee for each ticket when booking online

Not sure if I am getting better or worse but will stay positive (crying or kicking the furniture isn't going to help).

Not spent any money. Have done quite a lot of sewing, started on the washing up mountain (piles of bowls appeared yesterday + nearly every pan in the house and gunk all round the kitchen sink), clothes went on the line in the sunshine for 3 hours and then onto the radiators and airer with dry ones brought upstairs. Had a bath and washed my hair.

There is a funny smell that I can't track down but I'm confident that it isn't me (may be their cheapo curry noodles). Missed cinema club as the strain of trying to suppress the coughing so as not to disturb others would have cancelled out the enjoyment of the film. I have popcorn and sucky sweets (to help with the cough) so will find a film to watch tomorrow.

So will keep plodding on, doing what I can (Christmas cards to write, Christmas craft for other people, chunks of housework) and do more planning so the important stuff gets done.

Today I am grateful for lovely sunshine, a good rest and enjoying my crafting.

    Morning all,

I have spent way too much money since getting the loan for the building works. Some has been for related expenses- new light fitting, dog crates and beds (so that they don't escape whilst the builders are in and out and leaving doors open) but I've also bought new pyjamas, a new jumper, a dress etc etc. So today I start afresh!

I am leaving the credit card at home from now on and I only have 4.5 gifts left to get for Christmas but some of these are perishables so will be boughtnin December. My budgets are set as payday was yesterday but I do have 4 Christmas events planned in this month! I won't be doing any other socialising!

You all sound like you've been much better behaved than me! I managed civilian this week so going for military next week.

EE - hope you are feeling better this morning.

seasidegal - I agree about the booking fees, no need for it at all.

I need to go to the bank this morning and the library. Other than cycling and dog walking I don't have much else planned. DD won't be happy about that, she likes to go out shopping but next week is her 13th birthday and she is going shopping with a friend and out for lunch. I am taking them to a shopping centre and they are going off on their own but I will stay there for safety and to bring them home.
