  • Good morning all,

Half way through the month now and I'm just behind half way on my target. My bank balance though means I'll have no choice but to rack up some NSD's.

Yesterday was another thankfully however today wont as I've got football tonight which will cost me £3 - damn!

Going to do some Xmas shopping on Friday/this weekend. Never before I have bought anything on 'Black Friday' but looking at the Xmas Deals Predictor on here, I think I will. Should even manage to finish it all before December even starts!

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning All :)

I am already fighting the temptation to go and buy a nice coffee in town.

But hoping today will be a NSD instead.

Got a chicken from ald! that is being stretched for yesterday's roast chicken, today's stew, tomorrow chicken wraps, and possibly a stir fry on Thursday.

Wow, that's what I call a rubber chicken. Mine only ever last for a dinner for 2 big and two little people (all skinny but eating loads) and maybe a lunch  I got one in the slow cooker today and see how that'll work. Didn't put any liquid in so it's just like roasting, hopefully. When I tried chicken on the bone in the SC before with liquid the bones totally turned to mush.

Not had a good night. Just worn out by the daily drudgery and relentlessness and then an ebayer wanted a refund. I thought it would be courteous to refund straight away but now I can't issue a return label. I was meant to wait for him to send it back first. Bit of a mess but luckily the guy is patient and very understanding. First time for both of us. Could just leave it (£30 loss) but if I get it back I could sell it again as broken and recoup some money.

EDIT: My faith in people on ebay was restored. You can usually tell by their messages - text speak, useless to try and reason with. Proper grammar and punctuation, great to deal with. Same on gumtree etc. My buyer got my address and reassured me he'll send it back and I shouldn't worry about the 3 quid for the return. He seemed a really decent person.

Need to pull myself together as my problems are nothing to what other people deal with daily. Gym at lunch should help.

mothernerd hope your mum is feeling better and I agree taking a taxi if there is no other way to the GP is medical expense.

  • Morning all, survived the dentist, was very brave and had the filling without anesthetic - in hind sight this was probably money saving as the bill was £72 without any drugs! :(
Did top up food shop, filled up with fuel, bought Christmas cards and chicken food. Today I must get some work done - been distracted for the last couple of days so need to focus! Also need to start eating a lot healthier - dug the scales out yesterday - good job they are not talking or it would have said "one person at a time please" :(
Shower now installed and ready to use tomorrow morning according to DH - now if he could just plumb in the loo - not used to having to wander around the house in the wee small hours :)
Right onwards and upwards and hurray for nice fleabayers! Oh and today is a NSD!

Hello, I just played with my numbers to cheer me up :T:j

So the next few months will be mayhem financially, me having to foot the bill for loads of stuff, christmas, the holidays etc. Now I already had a wee word with OH and not much can change (apart from applying damage control) in the next two months really as he is in arrears with me and his OD. But he already agreed to decline the invite for dinner out for his mate's birthday next week unless we can postpone to the weekend after payday. And we agreed to a few changes at the start of next year once things have settled.

Upon playing with my number, putting my foot down when it comes to certain changes next year, snowballing some debt etc I will be able to bring our debt free date forward by a few months hopefully to May if not April 2017. Off to the gym with new oomph. Onwards and upwards

Naughty step time for me today.... we didn't have anything that we *had* to do today, so OH and I took a bimble to check out some cushions which my mum has agreed she'll get me for Xmas (we are having new sofas after Xmas - ours have broken and sagging frames and super lumpy cushions - they aren't even fit for passing on now, but it has taken us a while to find ones which we really liked - colour, style and size) - found some pretty much straight away (had a bimble around a couple of shops whilst doing so but was not tempted to get anything) We were right by a Sainsbobs so I suggested we pop in for red milk (we only have enough for tonight) - well, as we walked in we were met by a big promotion for their NEct@r double up event. Our microwave belonged to my late mil (and was a cheapy, basic one) and hasn't been keeping to temperature of late - you can out something in one day for a minute and it be stone cold when you take it out. The next day you can do the same and it be bubbling hot. We have been researching getting a new one (was planning on using some of my amaz0n credit) but couldn't find one I liked at a reasonable price with good reviews. Anyway, we had a look, I found one I liked and checked online - reviews were good and it was already £20 cheaper in Sains than elsewhere. We therefore exchanged some nectar@r points towards it (they have a maximum of £40 in voucher value you can do :() and I had a voucher for £9 off £50 shop - so we got it for a very good cash price (and still have £70 of points left) I also bought (as we were there) some bread flour as it's 28p per bag cheaper in there than Tesc0. However, they didn't have any red milk!! - so I still need to get some of that!:rotfl: OH then decided (as it was almost 1pm) that he wanted lunch out - we did find a cheap place - £16 for 2 courses and a drink (unlimited soft drinks) each but even so......:o:o

As I've racked up a spend day I've paid for DS1's A2 chemistry revision book and tickets to see FC at the school fair (DS1 is being FC!!)

Naughty step place well and truly gained today! :p:o

    NSD again today. Yay.

Still no confirmation for Sunday, so at this rate she'll be having pasta and tomato sauce while we have our curry:rotfl:

Or, does anyone have any ideas for a vegan curry with no veggie:D I have some OOD ( by 2 days) Smoked tofu with herbs that I bought for her last cancelled visit, but now I don't have the other ingredients in for the old recipe.

All SENSIBLE suggestions gratefully received. DH's was the packet and a knife and fork:mad:

ETA I have butternut squash, sweet potato and onions, and a very full storecupboard and spice rack.

Sweet potato tofu curry ? http://theveganyear.com/sweet-potato-tofu-curry/ Instead of the soy milk use a can of tomatoes? Our curries are usually just whatever veg (or meat here) we have fried with indian spices and a can of tomatoes and fresh coriander.

Genius. Thankyou. Actually I have everything for the Chickpea one below and could just add tofu to her portion. I can even make it on the day, and save the rest for 'meat' as DH won't go near the tofu. I can put the rest in a soup next week, if I don't open it until Sunday it shouldn't have gone off.

Thankyou thrifty I will have to spend tomorrow for other bits, but no discretionary spending on her neede, I have chappatis and rice, salsa and tortilla chips which were all bought last time and I was just going to serve anyway.

    Currently on 13 NSDays :D:j

  • Flat tyre changed to the spare by me - counting that as exercise! Children brought home by a fabulous friend - note to self - don't drive over a screw :( Note to those that have screws loose - don't leave them on the blinkin roads! It's right in the middle of the tread so all being well repairable by my very friendly local garage :) Off to cook tea and grumble quietly to myself!
