Good morning one and all,
Pleased to record yesterday as another NSD and today should be the same. In fact, most of this week should be the same, mainly because I don't have a choice - skint!0 -
Good morning>
WantToBeSE well done on pulling through with the appeal. Definitely worth it.
Bob I hope your equipment gets fixed and you get your money back. Is the money privately owed or through the business? Also hope DS is ok and can stay where he is.
Did a shop yesterday, £38 on food and £8 on household items. Not sure I'll make my military budget of only £270 on food but I will definitely try. The next 4 or 5 days should be NSDs.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Bob - hope you get your money sorted. Some people have no shame.
Lots of work to do today which should keep me out of mischief. I have cycled this morning and will run later, also need to dog walk as usual.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi All
Thrifty It's money owed by an individual to my business. It's for services to be carried out. Think of it like booking a flight. You wouldn't expect to tell Easy jet you intend to travel with them on X date but then not pay.
Yorkshire I know. And the irritating point is she is trying to emotionally blackmail me. I want the money, so she knows I won't be going anywhere if she doesn't pay it...
It prompted an interesting discussion with the workman this morning who says he gets a lot of work from big letting agents who expect him to carry out jobs but don't want to pay him until they receive the rent from that tenant. How mean is that! He was out of pocket £400 from one agency. He says they do pay up eventually, but it all depends on how strong your cash flow is as to whether you can afford to let someone else dine out on your good will.
Remembered I had a piece of kit to sell so called the company it came from originally and they agreed to buy it back for £50. I am literally on my knees with gratitude to them. So I should have enough to get us over this cash flow shortage. He is coming to get it tomorrow morning. I have one of those annoying 4 hour parcel pick up windows (some stock going back to a supplier) so I can be there to collect the cash then.
My equipment has been fixed. It was touch and go but he did it. So £125 cost rather than around £250 min for a much lesser model than I currently have, would be about £500 like for like.

Well since the wedding on Saturday we have not spent anything else as we have been ill at home. I'm now really scrapping the bottom of the barrel to produce a normal meal.
I have just had to throw out the ham as it was out of date and the milk has now run out and I am on the uht milk. I don't mind it but DGD doesn't like it.
I am still making our bread, but we are now out of chocolate spread and jam. We have marmalade and marmite left.
I am not sure what I will do for dinner tonight. I have some beef burgers but not sure what to serve with them. Rice? Pasta? As only a few small potatoes left. I would not mind but the BF has invited himself over for the evening and is coming straight from work, and I would normally have made something special when he comes over. But I am not able to go shopping with DGD poorly.
I think I will have to shop tomorrow. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Just back from Edinburgh and catching up on all your news. Well done on all the NSDs and other successes.
It was really cold and windy but we managed quite a bit of walking and had a couple of really nice meals paid from the holiday budget (using 40% off vouchers).
No NSDs for me so far this week I'm afraid but spending was minimal and I'm well within budget for the month.
Off now to try and clear some of the devastation caused by my son in our absence.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Plonking myself on the naughty step for rest of the month. Thrifty don't let me escape.:o
Bought myself a xmas pressie of a new ipad mini, just got so fed up of my old Blackberry buffering and now I can get online at weekends and be sociable turtle. Hangs my head in shame and scuttles back to the step.
Did some food shopping as well, I get insecure if I haven't got some food in. Who knows when the great snow happens. Spent 29 in morrisons and now qualify for a 5 voucher woo hoo.:)
