Eager Elephant, have you tried celery instead of onions? I generally use a base of celery and carrots.
thrifty- well done on the 2 days smoke free! Day 3 is well known for being quite difficult (i remember it was for me), so be prepared!

Racked up another NSD today - making 4. OH wanted to go to the shop but we needed absolutely nothing so I persuaded him it wasn't necessary
Lunch was leftovers and tonight we had a roast (YS chicken from freezer, parsnips, Yorkshires and peas from freezer, potatoes and stuffing from cupboard and only things bought especially for it were a cauliflower and one leek
Leftovers tubbed up and in fridge. Chicken stripped and stock already made and now strained and cooling - will restrip the carcass for crumbs for pasta/ risotto/ couscous dishes when cooled
For pud we had a lemon Victoria sponge which OH made yesterday
Also achieved exercise in vacuuming up all the leaves in the back garden - completely filled the vac bag. Will need one last go when final tree sheds in a couple of weeks or so. Still need to do front garden but ran out of time.
Candles on, smallest 2 in bed and DS1 in his room. Most of the ironing done (some washing still drying) Time for a cup of tea and a relax

Hi turtles!
Sorry I have been missing for a few days (again!) but we had some tragic news this week. One of DHs best friends passed away. He had been ill, but it was still completely unexpected, and he was only in his 30s. DH is obviously devastated, and I'm feeling a complete mixture of emotions as me and him had a bit of a bust up a while ago and he said some hurtful things. At the time, instead of reacting and creating problems for other friends I just walked away and haven't really spoken to him since. DH keeps asking me if I think we would have made up one day, which just makes me feel awful!
I have read back on what you have all been up to but wow you have all been busy and there's far too much for me to comment on. So well done to all those sticking to the rules, and hugs to anybody who needs them!
I've lost track of spend days this week, although I have only really bought essentials, but I will start afresh from tomorrow. I have managed to pay another £50 off the credit card after a few business sales. I have batch cooked 5 family portions of chicken tikka masala plus nan bread, so any takeaway cravings can be catered for from the freezer. I have also made lunches for me and the children for the week and frozen them so they are ready to go each day.
Tomorrow will be a spend day, but only for business items so will not be counting this (I have cash from previous sales to cover the cost) and I am expecting around £150 worth of sales this week.0 -
Can you add me to the list please Thrifty?
Better late than never
We are feeling very poor this month due to a combination of factors (necessary purchase of new car, re-purchase of windows measured incorrectly by DH  and unnecessary mini-holiday booked by moi) and still have a lot to pay for on the building work before Christmas.
Today is NSD number 2 :j I did purchase new home insurance but the payment won't go out until tomorrow
Looking forward to catching up with you all,

Hi All
I worked all day today so easy NSD. My 4th this week. I also brought home food from the event so that is a double bonus.
Made my first batch of mince pies this year, tonight. They've come out lovely. I used half a jar of my 10p YS mincemeat saved from January. The use by date is 2017 so I don't know why they bothered to reduce it so much. I bought 2 jars so plenty more pies to come
EE your chicken sounds incredible. My Grandmother used to tell us how chicken was once a real luxury. Eating it like you do is the best way I think.
Apple I really hope tommorow goes well.
Thrifty Sounds like you have had some great insights this weekend.

Spendy day today as ordered fleecy pyjamas online and when I went to the shop to collect them I bought the worlds softest throw. These are both wants rather than needs but as I had the money available I thought I'd treat myself and be all snuggly in this cold weather. So far the joy they have brought has been immense (I really do like the simple things in life!)LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Morning All
So aiming for 5 NSDs this week. It is a slightly tricky one as we have 2 birthdays in our house. Have to think exactly what we need to buy for the party.
Upside there might be birthday money
I think CB should appear any day too which will be very handy.
Have a good week.
Fmess I'm with you on creature comforts. Hope you enjoy your lovely items." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
